I saw this picture online and e funny gan. President Tpain should temper justice with mercy. Make baba bring back subsidy, make e forgive Nigerians. It’s now evident all that nonsense economic analysts and professor dey yarn about remove subsidy and bla bla bla na nonsense. Nigeria is a multi-cultural multi-interest country, no need trying to restructure the finances coz the next president can easily come and undo everything and we back to square zero. Just do your own and leave the rest for Jah. Tinubu should bring back subsidy now before fuel become 5000 per liter. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

ajailer: What he is doing can only work in a monolithic country and not necessarily in a complex country like Nigeria. Make baba bring back full Subsidy. Borrow more loans to maintain the subsidy, take the debt servicing to 98% of revenue, use crude to borrow money from the future, keep fuel at #200 per liter and leave the mess for the next president to clean. Fuel at 1100+ is nonsense. What is the essence of removing subsidy when the common man cannot brethe and another president can just come, bring back subsidy, and poor man just suffer for 4/8 years for nothing. 31 Likes |

LegendHero: Just speechless o. I think he is having the mindset of being the messiah the country needs to turn around the economic situation for good, which to me is a dream in la la land. Just like you said, past presidents were not stupid when they realised that kicking the can down the road is a wise political and economic policy for a country like ours. He should do his beat, leave the place for another president to do his beat too till we all as a country get to a place where we realize that keeping the presidential system( or even keeping the country as one piece) is to the detriment of us all. I still salute Tinubu for his ruggedity sha, the injustice that was meted to Awolowo in the 1979 presidential election where Shagari was unjustly declared the winner by a woman, I believe he learnt from it all. He realized that naija dont respect a civilized politician hence his approach and success at the polls last year. If Nigeria is supposed to be good, the journey ought to have started in 1979 cause I believe Awolowo would have injected inclusive policies but alas, the powers that be schemed him out. So, I feel it's too late now for a remedy that won't cost lives of the vulnarables. I don't want people to start dying due to hunger in the land so Tinubu should just jettison that noble idea of correcting the wrongs, we are too far gone in indiscipline as citizens so he should just them since he can't beat them. 3 Likes |

ajailer: You’re right. I doff my hat for him. Man took all the action policy people have been telling us all these years which no president have had the courage to do. He did it, and now we see the effect of those kinda policy. It is not too late to backtrack, I’m sure no sane Nigerian will ever abuse the government for subsidy again if he bring back subsidy. Tinubu should stop being a messiah, Nigeria cannot be fixed with our current constituent. 32 Likes 1 Share |

My take-home from this slow p0ke is that Tilumbu never had any plans of his own but went to implement something he never fully understood in the first place. It's like someone copying another person's dissertation and on the day of defence he starts referring the to the original researcher he stole his body of work and asking everyone to hold the researcher responsible for his inability to defend the dissertation. We yoruba muslims of a truth have no atom of shame

LastGiantAlive: Stop saying nonsense. Everything he is doing is in his policy document and he is implementing them. He is the only president that actually follow his manifesto and action it in reality. However, Nigeria is a country where nothing will work because of the constituent and the divergence of interest. He should just do the regular thing politicians do and stop being the messiah. Bring back the subsidy and borrow massively to maintain an artificial stability and leave the effect for the next unlucky president. Blow that foreign reserve now!!! 27 Likes |

LegendHero: Let's be honest here, there is nothing brave about his ill and hasty policies. Removing subsidy is never a problem but you have to do it the right way and put things in place before putting the cart b4 the horse. Now we have super hyper inflation and the fact that he knows we don't have a functional refinery before embarking on this perilous journey beats my imagine. Economic policy is not ewedu that you go to the kitchen n make, you have to follow due process. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Artscollection: Bro there is no way to remove subsidy and not cause inflation. No country in the world can remove subsidy on fuel/exchange rate and not suffer it for some years before things stabilize. Any politician that tells you that you can remove subsidy and things will get suddenly better within 1 year is a hardcore liar and only telling you what you wish to hear. Other countries that do stuffs like this have citizens that are educated and patriotic. Nigerians are too divided for anyone to persevere and wait for policy to bear fruit. Most times it takes years for things to stabilize. 31 Likes |

ajailer: He wants to be seen as the president that reset the Nigerian economy..... A huge task considering Obj , GEJ, PMB weren't able to do it fearing the backlash , but the problem he is having is problem of legitimacy as most Nigerians (66%) didn't vote for him, he has a minority mandate and because of that , he is not able to bring the polity together and the main political actors are not in his government. PDP held power for 16 years, many economic power still remain with PDP guys, the control of forex and Control of crude oil production and sales, they used it to fight buhari and are using it to fight BAT. 26 Likes |

Difrent: Agbadorians are free to fool themselves, forgetting that many of us saw when Goodluck Jonathan removed the subsidy and lunatics went to Ojota to stage a protest that saw a comionate president reverse his decision. Someone even died in the protest. Today, Ebola is doing what the country would've done over 12 years ago, thereby worsening the pain that ordinary Nigerians through. If Nigeria was a sane society, someone like Escobar would never have been president, considering how him and a bunch of other fools dragged the country backwards by staging a protest against a strategic decision he would return over 12 years later to implement. 10 Likes |

LegendHero:Did you say he did what no other president had the courage to do? Jonathan removed subsidy at a point when the fallout could have been managed but Tinubu and his cohorts sponsored protest because they never wanted to see Nigeria work as it will neutralise their political power. 3 Likes |

LegendHero: Bringing back the subsidy would be a big mistake. He has already set a precedent for other presidents to follow. In all honesty, things are very difficult but if the monies raised are distributed to the Local Government rather than the state governors, Nigeria will witness fast development. Developments that will compensate for the hardship 3 Likes |

ajailer: you are lying and you know... plenty past president tried removing except pmb and when GEJ tried it, all opposition ganged up against him even when they knew it was the best time to do it and the right thing to do... in this part of the worl we mostly mistake politics for governance, and you dont play politics with governance...tinubu and oppositions with exception of PMB(that one knows nothing) knew removing subsidy at that time was the best thing to do and the best for the country and instead of them to side with the policy and then wait for fuckup to play their olitics, they played politics with the people they now claim to love... Tinubu removing subsidy was not a bad thing, the bad thing was floating dollars without letting the subsidy regime managed itself out first...if he had removed subsidy, improve fiscal policy, and then wait for when the subdsiy has been assimilated to then float the dollar then this mess we have now wouldnt have been here (this is basic economics101).... but then tribe and religion will always blind us and we will suffer for it always not the so called leaders... 4 Likes |

LegendHero:You sure know that it is not market forces that is at play. Market forces determine prices of products that are available in excess. Market forces can not determine products whose supply is regulated. Any day supply of these product becomes in excess, the price will crash immediately. But who controls the supply? Dangote has acquired oil wells to be able to raise his crude oil need because the government can not sell all it crude in naira which will imply no dollar for world tours. Other refineries will face the same challenge when they are ready for takeoff. If they are to look outside for solution, the government has made the dollar to be unfavorable to them. Dollar price too is not determined by market forces. |
