In my capacity as the Coordinating Governor of the North West Zone, I had the honour today of hosting the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Stakeholders Meeting in Kaduna.

The meeting was attended by the APC National Chairman, the Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy President of the Senate, Governors of Kebbi and Jigawa States, Deputy Governor of Katsina, Ministers from the North West, National Assembly and State Assembly from the North West, Presidential aides from the North West, APC State Chairmen and party stakeholders from North West. We took a critical look at the state of the party in the zone, assessed the performances of elected and appointed officials at the Federal and State Levels, and mapped out effective strategies to consolidate the party's dominance.

One of the major highlights of the well attended meeting was the ing of a Vote of Confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and his endorsement as the sole candidate of the North West Zone in the forthcoming 2027 Presidential Election. Building on my well received submission that President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon to the North West with key interventions in the areas of infrastructure, security, agriculture, as well as the appointment of two service chiefs and 12 Ministers from the zone, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D moved a motion for a vote of confidence on President Tinubu "for his progressive governance, inclusive leadership and unwavering to the good people of the North West Zone." The motion was seconded by the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris. The Speaker thereafter put the question, and the response from the stakeholders was a resounding YES.

After a robust and extensive deliberation, I read the following communique on behalf of APC North West Stakeholders:

1. We thank and commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his purposeful leadership, bold reforms, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria's progress, especially in the North West Zone.

2. Under President Tinubu, security in the North West has significantly improved, enabling farmers to return to their fields and communities to regain peace and stability.

3. Our zone enjoys unprecedented federal representation with 12 Ministers, key National Assembly positions, and top security appointments - a clear sign of inclusiveness and recognition.

4. Major infrastructure projects are being completed or are underway across the North West, marking a new era of development in our region.

5. The APC continues to grow in strength, unity and national appeal, due to Nigerians appreciation of the President and our APC Governors.

Now is the time to consolidate on our gains in the North West Zone. Let us work together to ensure the overwhelming victory of President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections. The opposition is in disarray. But we must remain focused. If we continue to deliver on our mandates, the opposition stands no chance of recovering.

It is with a heavy heart we read this, on behalf of the opposition parties. We have seen how our leadership have frittered away opportunities given to us by Nigerians allowing the APC run roughshod unchallenged. This. Is not the democracy persons lived and died for.

Subsequent today, we have issued a 7-day notice to our leadership that failure to come together and confront this behemoth ruling party, we will cease hip of our respective parties and seek the mandate of the people elsewhere.

I disagree. Let Kanu remain in prison. What's the worst that can happen? South East won't vote Tinubu. Well, 3 Presidential elections have been won without South Eastern .

If Kanu is released, it makes Obi lose some political in the East. Therefore, some of his voters will go to Atiku and some to Tinubu. Atiku's votes must not be allowed to mix with SE votes. Therefore, Kanu must remain in jail till after the elections and Obi must also contest. That way, Kanu holds one part of Eastern political base, Obi holds the other and then, SE Governors deliver 25% to Tinubu.
