The most expensive food item in Birnin Kebbi is Yam. I bought a single Yam for ₦2,000. Is this a fair price?

This size is 800 naira in my current location, but Igbo traders coming from East buy at 1,100.

Both yams should be at most N1,700.

Maybe you should tell us how much your earn where you live.

Or express the cost as a percentage of your income.

Places like kebbi are not known for farming yam.
It is cheaper in Benue and Nasarawa.

Yes it's true, yams are majorly farmed from the north central southwards. One of the people I get yams from gets her yams from Kwara State, another one from Oyo State. Yams and potatoes are costlier in the far north than south

How did you arrive at your ' 2k is the minimum pay per day for a minimum worker' ?
Some of you talk loosely here, without justification and verification.
I pay Labourers 5k here,for daily jobs.
Stop hate and bitterness towards the govt, just to placate them.
he's referring to government 70k minimum wage which if dividend by 30 days it's 2k+ truly

I don't think they ask about pay per hour before selling you stuff in the market, or you'd just send a low earner to go get it for you cheaper.

And no, I was not comparing. Just stating a fact.
It's cheaper over there, our minimum wage is 70k. Multiply 2000 by 31 day, that's #62,000
How much is the balance

70k is our minimum wage here, and we still have millions of people earning below that amount per month that's the fact

That's the amount I bought yams of around that size about 2 weeks ago. Shouldn't such foodstuff be cheaper in the north?
It depends on where. I mean, "the north" is huge. It'll definitely be cheaper in the yam-growing belt from the Benue basin to Taraba to parts of the FCT.
