Yes it's true, yams are majorly farmed from the north central southwards. One of the people I get yams from gets her yams from Kwara State, another one from Oyo State. Yams and potatoes are costlier in the far north than south

70k is our minimum wage here, and we still have millions of people earning below that amount per month that's the fact

It depends on where. I mean, "the north" is huge. It'll definitely be cheaper in the yam-growing belt from the Benue basin to Taraba to parts of the FCT.
