Are you aware that there're DIFFERENT kinds of condoms? Some of them are designed with a thinner latex, so you wouldn't feel like you're wearing anything at all. Some even look invisible. Yes, they've all been pre-tested, to ensure that the effect is the same. So there's really no excuse for ignorance anymore, when there's an assortment of over-the-counter protective tools at your disposal. Like female birth control, you have to find one that's suitable for you. Otherwise a feeding cube & adult diapers await people who value skin-to-skin intercourse over their own wellbeing.

I think I understand you better now. Initially, I was wondering why you were being so negative but hey, our environment shapes our outlook to life so its cool. In my side of the world, STI's are not as rampant. I think Nigerians are more concerned about making fast money than sex. Lol, once upon a time in South Africa, HIV was also "not severe". Nonchalance, ignorance & a devil-may-care attitude is what led us to where we are today. Thankfully, now South Africans are more educated on the matter & cases of new infections are steadily decreasing. All it takes is one careless mistake & rest be assured, you'll have a crisis in your hands. Most Nigerians, IMO, are ignorant about the dangers of unprotected sex (even though they're one of the most promiscuous people I've ever seen), hence they end up on the ARV queues at our hospitals. Many, if not all, have GFs here & wives back home or if their wives are here, they will still sleep around like there's no tomorrow.

I have these two friends & they don't really like each other. Reason: girl A has a friend that dated girl B's husband. Girl B's husband is a Nigerian. So anyway, Girl A's friend became pregnant & at the same also found out that she has HIV. There's a possibility that Girl B & her husband also have HIV but they don't know. The husband has already moved on to a number of different side chicks. One time Girl B had an infection on her gums & I almost told her to go for an HIV test but I held myself back because I didn't wanna cause a fight. So I actually created this thread because of what I observed. Most people (males and females) don't like using condoms even when there are several STIs around. They look for flimsy excuses (like raw is better, bla bla bla) not use it. I can't say lack of awareness cos there are so many awareness programmes. Why do they hate using it? Is it because they're not scared of the consequences of unprotected sex or the pleasure (though there's no big difference between going raw and using protection) is just to strong for them to be thinking straight.
