Playing of dice either for fun or gambling is prohibited in Islam based on the following authentic hadiths:



1. You Have Disobeyed Allah


Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever plays with dice has disobeyed Allaah and His Messenger."

2. It Is Haram Whether It Involves Gambling or Not


Narrated by Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who plays with dice for the purpose of gambling is like the one who eats the flesh of a pig, and the one who plays with them without gambling is like the one who dips his hand in the blood of a pig.
