Atiku's Intel did a wonderful work in Onne port. A well organised port that would have served the country and diconjest the Lagos port, but because we are blinded by regional and tribal sentiments, that port is just idling away.

Who has stopped anyone from shipping to Oone how does ethnic or tribal sentiment held back Warri, Oone and PH ports. The FG under Buhari spent billions on those ports and brough them back to life, the 3 largest ships to berth at the country's ports did so at Oone.

You're just scratching and running around in circles

The one that made it happen is the same master strategist that you hate so much....the Jagaban. grin grin cheesy cheesy

Actually the revival of Warri and Oone should be credited to Buhari and the former NPA lady

I keep wondering if this port is effective. Someone I know has been thinking about starting car importation business, but doesn't want to use Lagos port.
Is this One port effective enough to bring in cars from the USA? What about the clearing process, it is also effective?

There's only a few goods you can clear through Onne. Vehicles aren't one of them, they have to go through Lagos

Those who blame Lagos seaports for the absence of development in their region, what do you have to say to this

You guys are very predictable. Just watch you will hear any news about a large vessel for the next one and a half years until when the cry for revamping ports in the Eastern corridor, you will now see this news.
In NL the last time we heard news of a ship of this size in Onne was in the build up to 202e elections.

This scope and format is becoming too stale. Everytime a cry about revamping ports in the Eastern corridor is brought up, you will see posts on the largest vessel ever berths at Onne. After that, the next time you will hear this same news is during elections. The last time we heard news on Onne landing large vessels was during 2023 elections, after that nothing else.

Businesses in the South South and South East should start using Onne. Lagos ports need to be decongested

Go and sit elsewhere, with your hate and parochial mind!

Those who are concerned AND interested should get their senators and representatives to have the necessary laws amended. Not so

Onne was solely adopted as the Oil and Gas Free Zone Port ...... yet business did not grow. Have you wondered why?

The 33 senators from the SS and SE regions along with their representatives counterparts were not interested in getting relevant federal laws updated to make it grow.

What else can be the reason

Is decongestion of Lagos out of hatred or love? It is hate filled individuals that think that the prospect of decongestion of Lagos Ports must be out of anything negative. For me, it is necessary for businesses. So whatever you think, Lagos is too congested and needs assistance. Those of you who live there deserve our pity.

Who is this benefitting? ...we are celebrating bragging rights ... the shippers are celebrating record income. Good development for who? We need to celebrate when the ports are used for exporting value-added goods more than importing foreign goods. 1000 containers coming in with imported goods...how many going out with exports?..25? We would be exporting empty containers to be refilled .or have a problem with empty containers stren all over then soon we will be beating our chest at another milestone.... the country with the most container homes...how innovative we are .
The ship actually left with containers.

Where is warri port located? It has been turned a naval Base.

Nothing is going on in Calabar port.

Work has stopped at Akwa Ibom port due to disagreement between oron people and the state.
I am curious, what issue do Oro people have with the state government?

You gerrit it.

Nevertheless, there have been infrastructural improvements in the port by the Dutch firm contracted to manage things there.

I don't really think it's that pipeline nigerian ports politics is the major cause why warri ports is not fully functional relocating that pipeline is not big deal if they really want to.
It is a big Deal, at last quotation, it was nearly at cost of £350m.the dept of that pipeline prevents further dredging. So the size of vessel is limited. There is no politics there as you cannot force vessels to come to Onne port or Onitsha ports.

So those pipelines wasn't there when warri port was fully functioning during obj tenure?

Were the containers being returned empty to reload and come again? Were the containers filled with our raw materials? ...as in love and cassava?...to be processed and returned to us at times ten the value? Were the containers filled with precious minerals? We cannot be simps and be shouting bilateral trade....containers come in and containers go out ....balanced trade.

Will need more ports that will ease Lagos port that's always busy
Lagos has three ports and is still going to be relevant after your trash onne port. Imagine trying to blame Lagos for being functional and not blaming your governors.
