The University which was formerly called Benue State University (BSU) has now been officially renamed after the Late former Governor of the State. Rev fr. Moses Orshio Adasu.

Students have been advised to get familiar with the new name and desist from undermining it.

Personally, this doesn't make much sense to me. This name could have better been inscribed and engraved in a new University and not the old one. Imagine trying to tell someone the name of your university when you're not even an indigene of same state, it's difficult pronouncing it.

Will the name stop Fulani herdsmen from invading their farmers?.

If No, then it's useless!

Why does our daft politicians always find joy in renaming an already established entity that has used its name as a brand?

What stops them from creating something new to name or even choosing a structure in the already established institution to name? , the governor just established a new state university in Vandekiya his hometown, what stops him from naming the university after the former governor? Or maybe he just wants to take the brand and eyes of the state to his community.

A law has to be made against renaming institutions. Institutions you didn't build with your money but choose to rename it after you? what exactly is wrong with our leaders?
And all those as$-licking legislators that approve such bills need to desist from it.
