President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Abia State on May 23, to among other things, commission the 6.5 kilometre Port Harcourt Road in Aba, which was rebuilt by the istration of Governor Alex Otti istration after more than 15 years in dilapidation.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi disclosed this to journalists while inspecting the damage done at the Osisioma axis of the 56 kilometre Abia Tower of Peace, Umuahia to Rail Flyover, Aba section of the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, a different Federal government project. Umahi expressed joy that work on Port Harcourt Road, Aba, which was left in a dilapidated state over the years, had now been completed by Abia State government, awaiting commissioning by Mr. President.

The Minister commended Governor Otti for not only completing work on the road, but also for the quality job done. “You know Otti is my relation and doing good while in office runs in our veins, so, I’m not surprised at what he is doing, I would have if he is not doing well,” he stated.

On the damaged portions of the expressway at Osisioma which is said to be about two kilometers long, the Minister directed the Controller of Works of the Ministry in Abia, to stop the contractor handling the underground drainage for Abia State government that caused the damage and report to the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja for discussions.

Umahi equally promised to meet and discuss with Governor Otti on the best way to get the issue settled. The Minister further disclosed that the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway which reconstruction started in 2013, will be completed in November this year and subsequently commissioned by President Tinubu.

You tell me Otti for example will leave obi that his tsnami rode him to that chair will look obi in the face and tell him he will Tinubu when obi is on the ballot. They're fighting for their second term, stop pretending. Is it Tinubu that has caused more pains to people than all past President combined that they would be regrouping to for second term if not to secure their own second term?
Whatever you like say, it is what it was. Nigeria concentrated much power to the center, barring that in a free and fair election, from public opinion,Tinubu will not come back.

The fight is for the VP slot for 2031 and presidency in 2039 and it has now dawned on SEgovs that the SS have jumped ahead of them.

The SW is out of the picture from 2031-2047 as far as presidency and VP is concerned. That leaves the SE and the SS. you dont just come in 2031 and start demanding its your turn..you start the work now...Se governors simply realise the SS has jumped ahead of them. orji Kalu said in a video post recently "how do i negotiate for the SE with other regions, when I have no votes?" Its not just about positioning to get the presidential or VP slots but positioning to get uncontested SW votes from 2031 -2037..like I said SW wont have a candidate for at least 16 years and their vote will be up for grabs! SW is the 3rd largest voting block, larger than the SS and larger than the SE. The people who vote for us in 2023 and 2027 are those we will for those 16 years!

I have said it many times, I really feel bad for Umahi, a performing minister, loyal and one of the early APC defectors in the SE....ordinarily he should be the VP in waiting for 2031 but you cant negotiate without votes.

Tinubu will get I trillion votes from southeast in 2027.

Inviting the president to commission a project is a normal thing which over the years has been so.Rather the president coming around to commission project signifies that the president is impressed with the governor's performance.
Don't forget that both Obasanjo and Peter Obi have commissioned one project or the other in Abia state for gov.Otti.
