If you are applying to study Medicine, Pharmacy or Nursing in the East tie your wrapper very well . Last year UNN screening in Medicine humbled my boy with 305 JAMB score. I have to push him to a private Uni. immediately.

Why didn't you put him in private university initially since you can afford it?

At the least, it appears the right thing is being done with the resit exams and those affected had a chance to prove themselves.
However I read the case of a student that took his own life as a result of his disbelief from the scores he received. I think such a person's family should be compensated because of the grief they were caused by the errors of JAMB.. or perhaps they'll need to approach the courts. undecided

Why will someone kill himself because of jamb results?

There is more to the story, if true.

Medicine, law, pharmacy 288 won't get you itted especially in eastern federal schools and you are from IMO or Anambra

It's the sad reality we face... Someone from Kano would strow into unn medicine with 260
While someone from IMO or Anambra is not sure with 320

When will you finally outgrow this your victim mentality?

You are not getting younger you know...

It's like tales from a Hobessian State. Children from one side are punished while children from the other side are exalted.

How can God bless Nigeria? Never

He should change state of origin

He can change it back when he gets into the school
Change it to what naa? You think the difference between Imo and Delta is much? Even if he dresses up like a mallam and puts Kano, the slot for "educationally less disadvantaged state" is still small and he may not get in. Or you think they it everyone from the north?

260 for Kano. Must be a typo. 150 or less will get you itted into the state and even the federal institution in that state

You people lie to yourselves like we all do not have functional brains or we never went to school.

How about you show us a single candidate that score 260 from Kano that is studyung medicine in any university in the East instead of telling this foolish n senseless lies no one believes.

I don't even understand why it should be so.
its supposed to be the catchment area as a SE citizen but northerner will be given privilege instead undecided undecided
Because Most Northern States are categorized as an educationally disadvantaged state like my state Ebonyi.
So, candidates from that category are given small quota like 10% as a way to carry them along in socioeconomic development.
Just like as it's in federal character.
Without those measures ,it will be survival of the fittest.
Which will lead to some states taking advantage of others chances.

If you read Jamb Brochure, it's clearly stated.

The Federal Universities we have in Kebbi and Sokoto states do give ission to study MBBS to students that score 235 and above in JAMB. I know some of our ex students that are studying MBBS with those scores. It must be really hard to people in other parts of the country where even a score of 300 won't get you into a federal medical school.

Highest I've seen from anybody in my community is a girl that once scored 310 while in SS 2 and subsequently got around 288 a year after she finished, with which she got MBBS in the uni.

The cut off mark in Kebbi and Sokoto universities is 140. I just wonder how many kids will be eligible to go to university should it be 200.

Congratulations to the kiddo. Nigeria is very proud of you. I pray the talents and skills you get later in life will be of immense benefit to the country.

They no longer read, no vex.
We have merit which is the majority, edu disadvantage state, catchment area, some do think na catchment dey take majority.
The Kano he is refering to might just have 10candidates, with the the school having 10slots for eds for a particular course, it means all eds states candidate that do not qualify on merit and not part of catchment, will have to share the 10slots according to their scores, so eds might have 100applicants for law, while the sch can only take 10, it means the top of those eds will get the slot

Nobody is investigating this surge in over 300 at the resit. Parents and educational consultants are happy now o wink

JAMB really played into the hands of its detractors.
Congratulations to him.

IMO and Anambra are considered education advanced so have zero catchment benefit for federal Universities

Sad
Na still to our advantage because it builds is into super performers in saner climes.. Which is what Nigeria was intended for anyways.

He did not get ission with 288 last year or what?
You can't get ission with that score into some professional courses like Nursing science, medicine and surgery, pharmacy, law, Radiography once you are from four south east states because their cut off mark is very high, my niece got 291 last year but didn't get ission

It's not any sad reality, if you claim Imo schools are of high quality, then you should expect high quality score as a requirement for entry.

I am not acknowledging that Imo and Anambra schools are high quality or not. The law of demand and supply also plays a role, another factor is the unique ission process of some schools.

Some schools set a minimum UTME score of 180 and 6 credits as minimum for WAEC irrespective of the choice of course as a criteria for students to enroll in their PUTME and or PD programs, those schools based their ission on the PUTME score as they believe their system of testing quality student is more better than both WAEC and JAMB combined. And I have seen students with 300 and 9 As flop truly in the school PUTME.

In saner climes like most will claim, ission system is also unique, Harvard takes in some students based on race and not necessarily their score. And even if it's on scores, you can't expect the requirements of an R1 school to be the same as R2 school even for the same course.

There's is nothing unfair in these approaches.

On the long run, the intelligence, knowledge and skills gained will depend primarily on the aptitude of the students.

There are students in Nigeria who will beat students in R1 school hands down in all ramifications of knowledge... So?

Peace.

lol. Stop lying. It has nothing to do with the South east. People from the south west also score that high and don’t get ission.
