APC should stop excess borrowing bcuz it's not effecting anything . The statistics is baseless and it's meant to continue audio hyping of tinubu led government. 1 Like |

Wizardslayer: It sounds like propaganda...until you realize that until 2013, power was privatised, and after 2013, it got somehwat privatised, so a little bit more money flowed in. You have GEJ to thank for that. Also in 2019, Siemems began its very long and still ongoing project to upgrade the grid. What you see is not that this government was worse than that government, but the benefits, albeit slight, of privatizating the power sector. Look at it that way. Not everything is politics. |

Flo36:Not to excuse APC, but this year's budget was based on the fact that oil would be at least $75 per barrel this year. Note that 80% of government revenue comes from oil. Oil has been falling since January this year. It has never gone above 75 dollars or remained there. It is now 60 dollars and was even as low as 59 three weeks ago. When that happens, we borrow. Otherwise, wahala go dey. Salaries won't be paid, and the subsidy on power will go away defacto. Yes, you won't like that. Note I said, not to excuse APC. In 2015, Osibanjo gave a beautiful speech about how APC would diversify. Today, nothing has happened. |

Mynd44: Ivory coast is a country where people have not seen a grid collapse since 1984. The reason is the government removed power subsides totally in the early 1990's....attracting more investment, even from the World Bank of all the people..lol. Adelabu should use the money for the party to set up a committee to study Ivorien electricity. If you were Ivorien, you would find the concept of grid collapse foreign (unless you are 50 and above). 1 Like |

This is a great lie. This year alone we had more than 20 grid collapse. More than 4 times in a particular month. This so called sophisticated tribe in government who thinks they own media and that others doesn't go to school keeps on embarrassing themselves. Can we call this media nepotism? Smaller West African countries are chasing away but you are hobnobbing with them and you think there will be security and progress? How? They will never allow you to have steady power supply because power is the bedrock of development. Still amazed on a serious note how Buhari would be better than his successor. 3 Likes |

Procashtips:Can you list out the power collapse that happen this year? |
nairalanda1(m): 7:58am On May 30 |
Ofemannnu: LOL...you guys should realize that we needed a whole lotta more money than what Jonathan got. One thing about the oil boom of the Jona years, while a lot of money flowed in, it won't have been enough to guarantee that every Nigerian connected to the grid would get 24 hour power supply. Even that 16 bn that we shout about under Obasanjo. Yeah, the money was looted, but if it was spent...it might have just at best added something like a few thousand megawatts. When we need at least 35000 more, and Lagos alone needs at least 10000...Lagos the city, not the state. The only way was privatisation, which Jona completed. The problem was that he then brought in price controls, which APC buhari and tinubu have both ed him in keeping, which keeps out far more investment. |

Mynd44:Honestly, this Penkelemesi offspring nah confam HEADACHE with his BAND.The poor are groaning. U only see the blue, yellow, red light on busbar but some nor get light oo due to his BAND |
nairalanda1(m): 8:03am On May 30 |
Ikaeniyan0:He sold them to competent people. Abuja DISCO was sold to Kann , which had a good reputation in other African countries. As an example. The problem was that price controls remained in place, which drove off much bigger investors. Only now is it that TInubu has removed price controls on band A , who make up less than 20% of the consumer base...otherwise they remain for most people. Also, many Nigerians do not pay for the power they use. That also restricts profits. That's why several discos were forced to hand over to the banks. Like KANN did for Abuja. And that is why Barth Nnaji is allowed to charge high prices for his aba power station. Price controls cause a lot of wahala. If you were in business and government was setting your prices, you go make profit? NO. 1 Like |

Safyqueen: It wasn't up to 20. Also, statisense has not been exactly pro-government, as you know. Even then, the power sector is in a BAD state. And APC is not doing the right things to revive it. Fact. |

virus05: DrMB: Mynd44: This is pure lies from the pit of hell, seun I have read more than 5 front page news on grid collaps this year's alone but I see just one listed up there, except your s are too lazy to fact check or just push anything to front page including fabricated propaganda wether known or unknown by them. Maybe it is a paid propaganda, who knows? but please stop spreading misinformation. It will come back to hurt everyone eventually. If I created a counter thread on the actual figures of grid collaps your s will ignore it...una well done. Truth will always prevail over lies. 2 Likes 1 Share |

That's because now they do not call it a collapse anymore. They now refer to it as Grid Disturbance which they'll technically say is not a collapse but it results in widespread outage 1 Like |
