The recent move by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, to present a 30-kilometre segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a completed and commission-worthy project has drawn sharp criticism from the Network for the Actualisation of Social Growth and Viable Development, NEFGAD, a leading public procurement advocacy group in Nigeria.Source: https://dailypost.ng/Lagos-Calabar-coastal-Highway-unfinished-unfit-for-commissioning-NEFGAD 9 Likes 1 Share |

The government has always make it clear that any section that is completed will be opened and put to use. I don't understand the need for this article after the explanation by the FG

When you want to know that both Tinubu and the people ing him are not normal, just imagine a president commissioning a bridge like 3rd mainland bridge when he has only completed 4% of the bridge

Ikaeniyan0: You can't understand the need fror the article since you obviously don't understand the need to prioritise the fixing of existing bad roads instead of borrowing money to build a white elephant project to nowhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9whI_y1Ddg?si=OxjL7AxJALFl-zVc 63 Likes 2 Shares |

Who be this? NEFGAD ko, na nefarious. For context of the ignorant, the Lagos Calabar coastal highway is arguably Nigeria's biggest infrastructure project ever. It is 6lanes highway with provision for railroad in future. Lagos ibadan expressway is 127km. Third Mainland bridge is 12km. Niger bridge or Onitsha bridge is 1.5km. 2nd Niger bridge is 1.6km/12km. Your favorites avoided building it and used it as campaign promises for over a decade. Your governors commission 1km roads and fly overs once in 4years. But you have a problem with commission of completed 30km. You hypocrites deserve hell. 52 Likes 2 Shares |

anonimi:Can you show evidence Government is borrowing money to build the project? This government has fully rehabilitated a lot of road around the 6 geopolitical regions and reconstructing a lot of road. People like you just love wailing because you do not like the president. No government has fixed and constructed more roads than Tinubu. The FG made it clear a long time ago, any section of the road that's completed will be open to the public. 5 Likes |

Welcome to Nigeria where commissioning has different meaning. They commission unfinish projects, and their urchins see it as achievement.

Tinubu Regime, Where 30km of Asphalt Now Deserves a Standing Ovation This government’s latest stunt, commissioning a 30-kilometre fraction of the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a “completed achievement”, is not just insulting, it’s pathologically unserious. Let’s be blunt: This is not leadership. This is political masturbation masquerading as national progress. 250 million Nigerians have sacrificed: • Fuel subsidies? Gone. • Forex stability? Abandoned. • Purchasing power? Shattered under 30% inflation. And what do they get in return? A ribbon-cutting ceremony for 4% of a project. This istration treats governance like a stage play, where optics matter more than outcomes. It is governance by illusion, rule by ribbon, and progress by press conference. President Tinubu’s government is weaponizing mediocrity, manufacturing applause from dust. If every 30km stretch deserves a state gala, we might as well commission every pothole patched on the Third Mainland Bridge. Governance is not about photo-ops and premature press releases, it’s about delivery, impact, and honoring the social contract. Instead, what we see is tone-deafness on steroids. They act as judge, jury, and executor of their own praise, despite glaring evidence of stalled progress, increased poverty, and public despair. This is not governance. This is gaslighting. Nigerians deserve ability, not accolades for incomplete work. They deserve dignity, not deception. And most of all, they deserve leaders who know the difference between a start line and a finish line. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
