Na wa o. It isn't this worse during military regime. Someone cannot even express himself again, FG will come up to say nonsense and then make the person go viral the more indirectly. There is nothing bad in the Ad. It simply tells the civil servants to face their front as they are very poor to afford such cars.
the salary they do collect can't they use it to invest.. ?

And 99% of Nigerian investments sef are scams. And what stops a civil servant from using a car sef, if not poverty-stricken salary they are being paid by the government of the people?

There is nothing bad in civil servnts not being able to afford luxury cars. They are called luxury for a reason. Such cars are not just for transportation.
Whoever has such car already has another one that meets their mobility needs.

Can civil servants afford cars within their means? Yes. That is okay.
If you want luxury, do what the persons using products do.
Allwell96: 10:33am On Jun 03
Does it mean that if a civil servants come to buy the car he won't sell for them or what. The advert doesn't make sense at all.
Exceed15: 10:34am On Jun 03
hedonido:
Why should civil servants watch his content? Why should they want to afford luxury cars?

In which country of the world does government workers afford luxury cars - by the prevailing localized understandings of it? Can civil servants in the UK afford Bentleys or Aston Martins? Or do civil servants in Italy drive Lamborghinis or Ferraris?

This country is very disheartening.
Full of very irritating, entitled dunderheads. To think that the vast majority of the so-called civil servants at all levels ( at least 90%) are merit-less misfits who got their jobs through nepotism and corruption, and are even redundant and incompetent at it, yet they feel so entitled and want to live luxury lives for merely being absolute wastes of space!

Besides, the so called warning by the NOA is not even worth the paper it was printed on. What sort of institutional idiocy is this, to purport to enforce subjective 'morals' on a private individual who has committed absolutely no crime? Shouldn't they have something more impactful or meaningful to focus on? Alas, of course the Nigerian body of civil servants prefer to be utterly useless. Always prioritizing low hanging fruits and window dressing activities rather than substantive issues.

U just spewed rubbish

So it will be appropriate if I am advertising a yatch and I keep inputing statement like "This one is not for Igbo men. Only real billionaires can afford this"

You gotta use your head even though truth is truth.
Lol he has gone tribal
Am not here for that rubbish. If believing the real billionaires are from your family makes you sleep at night, then happy sleeping

Market with sense not insult. There's a limit to cruise.
If you feel insulted by such advert, it means that you are not wise, a wise man knows his financial limits and is at peace with it while aiming for something better. He doesn't get triggered by "you cannot afford this one oo"
Zionmdde: 10:52am On Jun 03
AutoConsult:

It's insensitive to go about your business in that manner. The FG has done the right thing here. He should also be made to delete every video he's made and put online with that statement in it. It's distasteful.
What part of the law did he contravene by saying the truth?
So FG should not focus on how to change the story of civil servants. All these shut down any criticism mentality

Again, market with sense not insult. There's no need putting down any occupation, person, tribe, state or country to market your goods.

did the NOA not also reply with the truth?
Why threatening a man who is not under any NDA for saying the truth?

So many people here missed the rhetorics of this astute businessman.
Knowing the level of thinking of most Nigerians..he captioned a very catchy slogan for his business..now he has created a niche and the stupid Govt agency gave him more exposure and advert like he intended
It's not everything Govt must chook mouth..
I swear .this man is smart..
He threw a rock..knowing exactly whom it would hit .
Obviously honest and unconnected civil servants can't buy his cars of 200m+. He knows that.. everyone knows that .t
The rock was for the govt to stop pauperizing it's workforce.
Everything is damn expensive.
Inflation off the charts and yet .
NOA..one of the most useless FG agencies ever created opens the mouth and validates his slogan..
There's nothing illegal in his slogan.
He's saying it as it is.
His cars aren't for civil servants. They can't afford them.
There's no law stating he must sell to Civil servants..
Sharp man

There is a proverb in my place that says, "you don't count your fingers in the presence of someone with nine fingers".
If you count the 10 fingers and the one with 9 fingers react negatively, sue him to court. It's your fingers

Then go and tell that to those who boldly come online and mention useless courses to study and useless professions in Nigeria. Go tell them the same thing

I laugh when people say saner climes?

Is civil service lucrative anywhere?

The point here is that no one should make demeaning statements against any group.
So "you cannot afford this" is now a demeaning statement? Interesting
If you tell yourself the truth, you won't be triggered when others tell you that truth
Nijaforward: 10:58am On Jun 03
This government are just onlbviousky the worst Nigeria ever had and it’s certain they they want to do anything because who doesn’t accept criticism will not succeed…if they want the civil servant to afford it they should increase their salaries and stop running away from the truth,if the advert is a propaganda they would have loved it because that’s the only thing they live to do,lies

The car is not for civil servants simple
True or false?
If they are triggered they should simply review the welfare of civil servants
Or subsidise custom duty on such vehicles

Most of those cars, even if the civil servants can buy them abroad, the clearance alone will make it difficult for them

Go and find them so i can help to tell them. Not sure those are marketers though. It's opinion which can be very wrong. What you call useless may be very useful to some, and vice versa. It's different from social media ignorance that thinks nobody in customs or immigration can buy a car in an attempt to farm engagement. Aside the ignorance, it breeds unnecessary discontent.
Farmsolution: 11:03am On Jun 03
They are the custodian of Yahoo Yahoo cars . The aid and abate them otherwise how on earth will they not ask a boy of 18 yrs how he made money to buy #49m Benz.

Most cars in their stands should be verified by efcc one after the other ...

What I know is the man said the truth
Let FG do what they want with that truth. I wish civil servants will turn that advert to demand better welfare rather than ing the authorities to shut the man down

If a house of rep member can afford that in less than 2 years, why not a civil servant in 8yrs of service?

Exactly, there are lots of positive changes that this advert should trigger. But no, as Nigerians we will tell him to shut up and don't mock us.
If I am deficient in anything, please mock me. Mock me till I stand up and do something about it. If i can't do something about it, then mock me forever and It won't even bother me

Don't mind them
Our cultures in Africa, don't promote: hardwork and honesty - it promotes acute materialism! Japanese, believe in dignity of labour; but, here in Nigeria: we worship wealth - almost everybody is looking for ways to steal!

But it should also speak on what kind of kind civil servants can afford...

Let’s be honest, a civil servant’s salary can’t buy that kind of car. If someone’s driving it, they either have a serious side hustle… or there’s something shady going on. So if the FG is angry about it, then they should help upgrade civil servants pay. Because if it’s really from salary alone, they’d have to save for like 5 years or more. Let’s keep it real, please.

You just said nothing meaningful..... The ads is wrong, simple!

Nothing really wrong with that ads, even in legal . He did not lie, civil servants really can't afford over 100 million naira car. To be honest, I see nothing wrong with that fact.

D only downside of dat ads is, people with low self esteem would get angry. Personally, I see lots of things on SM I don't like, I just block or mute the person involved.

But for them to report 2 d government & even d government making an announcement, it's just plain misplaced priority & waste of time. He hasn't broken any government or state laws with his ads. And government should have much bigger fish to fry than how a car dealer advertising his product

Sarkin Mota should not listen to the useless orientation agency. He is only promoting the European style of society where wealth is concentrated in the business class, not in the civil service or political class.
