Stop saying this nonsense...

You keep acting like c300 is some over the top vehicle that normal people can't drive.

Italy for one, has some of the most expensive politics.. the government workers aren't struggling to buy small cars... they drive cars made in that year

Check Canada...

Thing is most of you are so used to poverty that whenever someone speaks about it, you guys feel attacked... you get triggered... you enter defence mode..

Cause why else will a well thinking adult say that a full grown individual with years in a job (civil service or not) shouldn't be able to afford a mid sized vehicle from two years ago.

Ahhhh... mehn... you're finished and you don't even know.

You're the one uttering nonsense and you have no sense of proportion of comparison

It's pointless trying to have a decent convo with you

Now, run off, like a stream

I don't understand this moral perspective of a thing
The politicians drive cars worth more than that, what is their input to the country? But no problem it is morally okay
But someone makes a video, shades the level of suffering of civil servants then it's not morally okay
He is promoting get rich syndrome lol
I off cap for una seriously in the country!

You are defending poverty but saying people should preach that poverty is good to make the poor feel good!
How about doing something to improve on the lives of the poor, isn't that humanity?

You are just arguing out of context.. You are changing the whole narrative...

Go back to my post and show me how I defended poverty... You are just shifting goal post ..

Show us anywhere in the world where what a civil servant earns can afford the luxury lifestyle we are talking about here... Without any side business... just what they earn according to what the guy said in the advert...

I'm not even sure you know the difference between luxury and basic things for living...

If the guy had shaded government directly without calling out civil servants, it would have made sense...

Are you expecting the government to over pay staff just to be able to live a luxury lifestyle? undecided cos I really don't understand your point exactly...

Everyone knows the government are doing bad... But that ad is total rubbish.... Take it or leave it

FG of Nigeria has denigrated civil servants to peanut. Imagine, a seasoned Professor in a university earning less that 350k-450k naira, and a politician with secondary certificate earning over 30 million naira basic salary, that's how bad it is. He's right by projecting the reality of their wickedness before them.

Good that information is readily available these days

Please name a specific country and let's do the analysis. Let's start from the average annual salary, less taxes and living expenses of the average guy.

Let's start with this first

There is no analysis to do I have life proof this is my Cosin from United state he earn $1040 usd in 4 days. That’s our chat. If you want for UK and other western countries I will show you firsthand proof, you don’t need to defend rubbish 9ja is wack

Well, we don't assemble cars in nigeria anymore, plus the cars of today are far more complex than the cars of the 1970's and early 1980's (my toyota, which is second hand , has more stuff in it from electronics to aircon, than my father's supposedly posh 1982 peugeot...).....so the idea of a civil servant owning cars is going to be hard.

For once, this is not tinubu;s fault....nigerians for the most part have not been able to afford new cars since the late 1980's and the problem starts with the failure of Ajaokuta, and the refusal to develop small scale industries manufacturing accessories for cars...

Fixing the issue is going to take decades.

This guy after pushing your subsidy agenda and propaganda you have succeeded where are the gains now we can’t even buy the tokunbo we use to buy anymore you don’t have any moral right to comment on this topic how is Ajaokuta the problem.

This guy after pushing your subsidy agenda .

Oga, drop the grumbling. If we were paying subsidy now, it would have been eating over 2/3rd of our budget. GEJ was right in 2012, and we have been warned since 1987.

You guys, everything is oppressor with you. WTF do you do when debts from subsidy is eating 90% Of your budget? Pray that money comes from the air, or remove the subsidy.

And stop this propaganda nonsense. You sound like a programmed bot.

Grow the eff up. GROW UP.

Drs in civil service in countries like US Canada UAE can buy luxury cars from their pay!
Tell me if a Dr in civil service here can buy luxury cars throughout their lifetime work!
There are countries where civil servants can afford luxury, those are saner climes.
And Nigeria can as well be a good example at least for once Fgs
Do we have to continue hiding behind show me where in the world it's done?
Elsewhere Even if they can't afford it within a month pay, they can save up in years and achieve their dreams.
Here someone spends a whole lifetime to keep doing hand to mouth and you people trying to make it look like it's a norm, it's okay

If they are triggered they should simply review the welfare of civil servants

Don't be primitive! That advert is distasteful! The govt is even lenient with those dumb traders. I would have imposed a fine or arraigned them in court for causing distress to public servants, incitement against the government and constituting public nuisance. sad

Why should civil servants watch his content? Why should they want to afford luxury cars?

In which country of the world does government workers afford luxury cars - by the prevailing localized understandings of it? Can civil servants in the UK afford Bentleys or Aston Martins? Or do civil servants in Italy drive Lamborghinis or Ferraris?

This country is very disheartening.
Full of very irritating, entitled dunderheads. To think that the vast majority of the so-called civil servants at all levels ( at least 90%) are merit-less misfits who got their jobs through nepotism and corruption, and are even redundant and incompetent at it, yet they feel so entitled and want to live luxury lives for merely being absolute wastes of space!

Besides, the so called warning by the NOA is not even worth the paper it was printed on. What sort of institutional idiocy is this, to purport to enforce subjective 'morals' on a private individual who has committed absolutely no crime? Shouldn't they have something more impactful or meaningful to focus on? Alas, of course the Nigerian body of civil servants prefer to be utterly useless. Always prioritizing low hanging fruits and window dressing activities rather than substantive issues.

Actually, civil servants can loot every kobo allocated to their ministries to buy any car of their choice. If you go to Abuja, you'll see that happening. Civil servants even have estates in Abuja.

Let's be mindful of what we put of there in the name of ads because when we end up building a society without an atom of decency and morality, we all will pay the weighty price.

The only sensible comment I have seen. The thing is, going by majority of these comments, Nigerians hate decent lifestyles and do not care how you got your wealth. Just be wealthy. After watching these videos, I bet you that the few civil servants who are still 40% patriotic have now thrown patriotism and put on their looting cap, cos they now realize that no one cares about them, so let's await the stealing spree.

All I see here is a very unwise and unintelligent statement trying to make it sound intelligent.

Let's take the Army for instance, are they also a waste of space and redundant workforce? Let's not talk about the others.

Permit me to ask you what you have done in your life that benefits this country and this country alone? Cos that what civil service is, sacrifice, it's even a charity work at best. No benefit for them.

No one is saying the gentleman does not have the right to and go about his business, but to target a particular section of the society negatively or in a way that make them feel less worthy in the name of selling cars is a foolish move and only a fool like him will be in .

Stop this madness bro. It's embarrassing.

A simple Google search will save you from this ignorance.

Google average salaries of government workers in Canada, Italy...

None of them are struggling to buy a mid sized sedan from two years ago.

Heck! I know someone that works in the food inspection agency or something like that in canada; the girl dey drive BMW 3 series... young lady o.

Thing is you guys are so in love with your poverty to the point that anyone that talks about it is attacking you.

The fact that you feel its normal that a man or woman with 10 years of civil service can't afford to buy a car from two to three years ago or map out a payment plan just shows where you are mentally

You can't be helped.

Your first paragraph should be the focus of the discussion, how do we get the ruling class, the politicians to elevate the civil service out of poverty, not denigrating them. If the Mallo that did the advert had concluded it by encouraging the Government both States and FG to put together a good welfare package to ensure civil servants can live a decent life, there will be no uproar. Infact, people will give him kudos.

The reason why people are condemning it is cos such video will increase corruption, stealing and extortion in government offices, and we do not want the total collapse of the system. My own 1 naira.
