Based on more information, I will recommend you use "A research chemist" as your endeavor. With those post qualification work experiences you listed, I say you qualify on merits of both Exceptional ability and advanced degree requirements of EB2. See this link below.

A research chemist is of national interest to the US for sure and you will have to package your application to demonstrate how important is such scientist to the US national interest.

To demonstrate that you are well positioned to continue your endeavor in the US, keep being active in your professional organization pushing to the highest of "fellowship" if possible, keep publishing papers etc.

The papers you published sounds useful to me now. What is the current citations on those papers?

Overall, I am increasing your chances close to 80 pct, now based on how well you package the application.

On the side, have you checked EB1A criteria too? I can see you met 2 of the 10 criteria already based on the information you have provided so far.

Literally interpreting your write up here means you got a french visit visa and instead of using that visa to , you decided to use French Visa to travel to Mexico.

Sir, this is exact where the problem lies. Lack of travel history on its own may be grounds for refusal. The last convention was barely two years ago and a lot of people never came back.

With a profile like yours getting a visa shouldn’t be a problem. Go to Europe , visit America even Ghana.

Good morning Fam, please I need your help. I applied for Canada visa and Italian visa and had my biometric done same day 25th January. I had done that because I felt Canada delay in response and by the time my port gets to me from the Italian embassy Canada may not have responded. However fate had a different plan. February 3 just one week after Canada approved my application and requested for my port. I am 20days past and no response yet from the Italian embassy. I sent emails all week to please release my port but they didn’t respond to my mail.

Please advice can I send an email to IRCC pleading they extend my submission date . I don’t even know what else to do.

My visa came in 5 days in 2022 also. I hope to wait after the 14th of February which is my 15th working day period.... I am hopeful I get a response this weekend.

This same thing happened to my brother. Italy had his port when Canada requested for his port after his biometrics. Just send the Italian Consulate an email explaining why you need your port within 25 days.

However, this is your 13th work day, so I'm hoping that with or without the email, your port will be ready by next week; though an email will help expedite it. I do not think you should withdraw your port just yet I miss the days decision came faster - My port for my first Italian visa was returned 5 days after submitting in 2022 (you can imagine my shock lol), 2nd and 3rd took less than 15 work days.

Please clarify that I can send a mail requesting my port from the Italian embassy to submit to Canada while they can continue the process and when ready to issue visa I can submit my port back.

you can also withdraw your port and explain in cover letter than the process can still continue. Once consulate decision is postif you will bring back your port to get sticker

I have a regular port. I was also shocked with how fast that came. An extensive travel history and valid Uk and USA visa may have played a role in it.

Yes I do have an extensive travel history with valid USA and Uk visa. I was also surprised with how fast this came. My reason for combining the Canada was because I felt it will take a while to be approved and i didn’t need to submit port.

I had my baby in Mexico in 2022, when it was difficult to get a USA visa date and the Mexico embassy was not issuing visas. The first thing I learned was the numerous visas that allow an individual to visit Mexico, and I applied for a visa. So, to any confused parent, if you are running against time, please consider Mexico.

I don't know if the EB process is different for families but I will suggest if you are the primary applicant get your green card through the Adjustment of Status then the family can apply for k1 or any other visa in that category.

This my thoughts though let the guru in the house respond

Please, I am in the US already, but my dependents are still in Nigeria. I want to ask the average months or years it takes for my dependents to do interview if my priority date is current. I already know I'll do I-485 and the timeline for approval is averagely 4 to 6 months but I don't know for my wife and children who will be doing it in Nigeria.

Lagos consulate employment based interview scheduling defy rhyme or reason.Dearth of information on the consulate part also is not helpful. Hence, the permutation and combination in the last 2 years .

If you are eligible for EB1- A-C, I will suggest apply because it's like getting yourself in the queue but Ultra high level of patience will be the name of the game. Upon completion of the application and approval process, you become Documentarily qualified. if your Priority Date is current, You are left with NVC scheduling interview which is a function of Lagos consulate capacity at the time of the month scheduling is ongoing. EB-1 applicant are not as much as EB-2s and Eb-3, so your wait time may not be as ridiculous.

The reason for saying this is because employment based excess quota usually gotten from unused family preference category (~20-40k) was not included for fiscal year 2025 140,000 application. This means more backlog at consulates, but faster processing on US soil (Adjustment of status) due to USCIS Efficiency. We may see EB visa across most categories used up as early as June Next year .

EB1 ROW will probably move from current to Priority dates assigned by the end of 1st quarter 2025.

You need a visa to visit any country except your port guarantee visa-free entry. That said the tourist card will be given to you by the airline before you land.

When planing childbirth you will have to do a lot of research. If you are too tired then you engage the service of an agent. This important because we do not speak the language. So with regards to documentation, your agent will sort all that out.
I used The Galenia Hospital in Cancun and had had an agent sort out all documentation.
