Foreign researchers usually don't cover African countries due to lack of data and budget constraints. Blame the quality of the research on the researchers, don't condemn your own people. 😒

Lagos has at least 10 million people below the age of 40, so the research failed to capture Africa as a whole.

Africans must desist from using research that doesn't cover our continent, cos it's really useless to us, just like this thread.

Blame the researchers? Your government has forever failed to capture accurate data on its own population because doing so will expose them, and you want to blame the researchers Wetin dey worry una sef? We have never had accurate elections, census data, birth and death records. Even economic data that is usually collected from banks and just reported are now being tweaked for political reasons, and can no longer be relied on.

Exactly. Whites don't glorify sex the way we do. This is why they are light years ahead of us.

So Africans coined the word “excort”, or created platforms like Onlyfans, xvideos and pornhub Come off it!!!

my president is a joke, that's an established fact. This Traore boy is an even bigger fraud who spend all his life doing propaganda and fake bravado while terrorists split his country into portions and claim whatever portion they want. If he would drop that awful soldier clothes, stop blabbering and do actual governing he'd be better off

It would be awesome if you could share your information sources! I hope it’s not BBC or one of those other propaganda sources. I also hope you aren’t imagining things and selling them as facts!!!

How some of you think the CIA is like one absolute is a sign of falling education. Don't give them too much credit. I think under the USA tyrant regime, most agents wont give a flying Bleep. They'll be working more inside the States than outside.

Looool!! You CLEARLY DO NOT KNOW the CIA mandate!! CIA is primarily an overseas agency. By American law, most of what they do will be classified as treason if they tried it within the US. Same with the NIA. They are called “covert” agencies for a reason.

The way some Nigerians reason self

People have protested in of Gaza and were Neva arrested. People have protested in of Ukraine too, no story. EVERY Nigerian has a right to protest, gather, and express their opinions without harassment or intimidation. You are an enemy of Nigeria for standing against those rights!!

In of real output, our economic performance has not dropped since 2023. In fact, more businesses are making huge money and recording crazy profits.

In Naira , our GDP has grown astronomically. Funny enough, when it comes to discussing national debt, hypocritical folks like this guy would argue that we should discuss in Naira since Naira is our reporting currency and not the USD but when it comes to discussing GDP, they switch quickly to the USD and ignore the Naira.

Every sensible person knows that the fall in our USD GDP is basically an exchange rate valuation issue and has nothing to do with a drop in the real economic performance. If Tinubu decides to peg the exchange rate at $1/N450 today like Jonathan and Buhari did, our USD GDP will rise immediately to over $600billion. But then, will that add anything to the real performance?

Only a person with a brain full of cow dungs would see the figures of our net foreign reserve and national indebtedness as at 2023 and still argue that we should have continue to borrow to subsidize both PMS and our currency. The era of that pure foolishness is over.

Despite Argentina’s GDP, why are they still borrowing to subsidize their currency? At a time Nigeria’s net foreign reserve has jumped up to over $23 billion, Argentina with big paper value USD GDP is still running to IMF to get bailout loan of $20billion to subsidize their currency. As at today, Argentina is the most indebted country to IMF. Is that the ruinous path you all want our dear country to continue on? You want us to be using N99 out of every N100 revenue that we earn for debt servicing? Don’t you guys pity the country at all?

One question. Do you settle IMF, World bank and other external debts in Naira or USD? Do you settle international transactions in Naira or USD? Are you sane or plain stupid??

Nigeria is a great country and we will encourage more foreign investors to come and do business here.

The more you people keep dragging this kind of news on people's FYPs to see, you are directly telling foreign investors who'd love to bring the changes you want, to look elsewhere. Then al you do is keep wailing.

The US was in a trade war, their citizens never portray the country as a weak economy tonscare investors away.

We should not say the truth because of “foreign investors “? You are a wicked f**l. Do you think foreign investors rely on news articles to make investment decisions?? That statistics your president asked if that’s what we will “chop”, is the exact same statistics investors rely on. This mediocre attempt at shaming Nigerians into silence is a fool’s errand, and a failed one at that!!

Your long epistle lacks any substance. The world should put pressure on Traore to lift the ban on political parties and conduct elections to return the country to democratic rule

Africa don’t want to be governed by the tip of the gun

They should start with CAR and DRC. Those ones have existed for much longer than Burkina Faso. Kindly explain why they aren’t pressuring those nations. Quit the hypocrisy! We are already much more informed about the world around us. Childish acts like this no longer work!!

This farok abi kangaroo wount sit down in kano or where ever and mind his business.
Which Nigerian leader has received as much in a pan African level like the young military traore has received from south Africa to Egypt, Morocco, to Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana and from even countries as far as Asia and even the Caribbeans?

I googled him. He, if a real person is essentially a propaganda machine for the west. He also wrote propaganda articles against Dangote. Just Google the name, everything related to him on the first page is pure western propaganda.

Nairaland putting the article on the first page is also very suspect!!

Only a slowpoke would nor accept either Wrstern or Chinese aid when they should.

Strutting up and down with swagger isn't leadership. Being clean isn't leadership.

Kenneth Kaunda, Julie's Nyerere, and Muhammed Buhari were there honest leaders who impoverished their economies.

What economic policies does Burkina Faso currently have? That will be the starting point.

Mention one African country western aid has helped lift its people out of poverty! Mention just one!!! Stupid, paid propagandists!!!

I was initially against this Troare guy because I felt he was doing too much showmanship on social media and pushing propaganda.

But recent narratives shows he's working. He has set up processing plants for cashew, cotton and gold. He announced they will no longer be exported raw.

That's what Africa needs, a thinking leader. A leader that knows how to develop the land and exploit the economic opportunities to improve the standard of living of his people.

Burkina Faso is by all indices a poor country so eradicating poverty is not going to be a magic wand.
But what we want to see is a leader doing something about it.

And western nations should learn to mind their business. They have created enough chaos in the world to last a century, they should give it a rest.

Besides they now have too many embarrassing problems in their home country to keep their govt very busy.
Homelessness, stagnant wages, rising cost of living, dilapidated infrastructure, poor social mobility, rising poverty among the working class, safety issue, high level of depression and hopelessness.
Any country that has these number of problems shouldn't be telling other countries how to run their nation

No mind them. They’ve been trying really hard to start a media war in order to create a reason to remove him, and it has been failing. They’ve also tried assassinations without success.
