Abeg ask them oooo. They just buy some properties to display their goods and business to public space niii. Go to ogunpa and see massive people of Yoruba building business empires not to talk of dugbe and liberty road side. Igbo business are just few 1/10 compared to Yoruba business in Ibadan
They should stop creating unnecessary panic.

Why do you think Nigeria is better?
I didn't say Nigeria is better... But there's clearly nothing special about India to claim it's "hyped"
ceejayluv(m): 1:40pm On Jun 04
I wonder where he saw India being "hyped" . Everyone knows India has a toilet crisis at best.

LOL....the fact is, even with looting removed, and you can never eliminate looting because most Nigerians it...our earning power as a nation is very weak

Our budget should be, at least, 200 trillion naira. Instead it is 30 trillion naira.

That shows that there is something wrong with our leaders since independence...and even wrong with today's leaders, If they cannot improve our leadership potential, and earning potential...

I always say this on this site, and people dey abuse me, because they do not get it. The question I really ask by my commentary is why isn't Nigeria earning 10 times more than it earns now.

It does not mean I excuse corruption. We are so broke, that the corrupt people stealing from our money make the matter worse for all of us.
I've always had that opinion that we're not earning enough, don't get me wrong. But why looting the little one That can be managed? It's like a minimum wage earner squandering his income on hoes and drugs because it's not enough to provide luxury for his family. The "little" revenue should be managed And checks put in place as we look for ways to boost the budget.

nairalanda1:

Erm, the problem is, remove looting, and the money is still not enough.

I wish I was lying.

All budgets are given before looting commences.
The looting should be taken out First. If they had More, they'd only end up looting far More.

A hospital in the USA spent 2 billion dollars to expand its facilites. (It was in Kansas).

2 billion is not enough for a state like Bayelsa, especially when the bills are paid, loans are paid and things like the NDU..a university owned by the state...and salaries are paid for. Then throw in the fact that things like a road contract in Bayelsa would be more expensive than say Gombe or Kano or Kaduna because of the terrain....and to even improve waterways transport would cost the earth.

Note that I am not excusing the governor. Or any bad government. Just telling you that Nigeria as a whole is not earning enough money...and the fact is why our current leadership is bad.

Infact the day you realize that Canada education budget for 30 million people is higher than Nigeria's total budget for 200 million people, then you go know that leadership in this country get as e be. NO innovation, nothing.
If they could reduce looting by 90 percent, in over twenty years now there would have been More progress than this.

nairalanda1:

Bayelsa gets 700 bn for budget this year

That is 443 million dollars, less than what one hospital in the USA spends per annum. Or what another hospital in the USA used to expand facilities

Nigeria is not a rich country. The day you realize this is the day you know why our leaders are bad, and why we haven't had good leaders
Before the devastating Naira devaluation, they were getting circa 1 billion dollars with nothing to show for It as well. No be today. Nobody prevented them from maximizing their IGR.

A very intelligent man, he's taking the forgetful ones back in memory lane, as far back as when his boss was in office when billions of dollars was used to pegged the value of naira.
No wonder, Mr Bayo Onanuga said, some Nigerians have a short memory while some are deliberately distorting facts for cheap political narratives.
God bless Nigeria.

Didn't he campaign and sponsor a protest against subsidy removal. Did BAT comment when Buhari wasted 8 years sleeping in Aso Villa and giving Emefiele a Field day? Of course he was just waiting for his turn.

That trial should be happening here in Nigeria. He should be extradited.

He caused most of the killings South-East has experienced.

You cannot be wearing fancy suit and inciting and instigating the deaths of thousands of people.

This guy's no freedom fighter, he is a murderer!
Abeg, Nigerian security forces are too lax in sourcing and providing such evidence. Look at how they're fooling themselves in the MNK trial.

Nigeria

Prices are high we complain

Government opens up borders for cheap substitutes to come in

Prices crash and people are still complaining

Besides if the ton of cassava fell by half why is a kg of garri being sold in the market still the same price
It's the flour processors, farmers and middlemen complaining.

Annoyingly, that is the same way you want people (especially Easterners) to believe that, IPOB is a terrorist group that is killing people in SE.
IPOB/ ESN and wannabes turned parts of the SE to a near dystopia. No gaslighting Will erase the memories.

I spend 200k monthly on food, gas and bills... For a year now, I totally banned buying fuel for gen use. Sold my car for peace of mind 3 years ago. And we no die. Next is to cut off occasional beer. We're a family of 4, going to 5 soon. I'd rather save up for a solar/ inverter system than to buy a single liter of fuel for gen again.

State police and regional policing system will checkmate insecurity in Nigeria.. we can keep shying away from that fact but it is the only way out.
We also need means to checkmate corruption and high-handedness among security personnel and improve morale and work ethics. Else, all the new regional and state police recruits will end up in road blocks extorting citizens.
