My Super Eagles Players of The Tournament (out of those who played both games) are definitely:

1) Cyriel Dessers (obviously 😄) for his 1 goal and 1 assist in the 2 matches played. His movement/positioning and link up play were very impeccable. He has shown that he indeed deserves to be a regular in the Super Eagles.


2) Chukwueze for his goal today and overall impressive performance in the left half space in both games. He surprised everyone, especially considering the fact that he was played in a new position. Amazing performance from him, but he needs to learn how to release the ball quickly.

Cyriel Dessers has eyes at the back of his head. What a player. He knew where Tolu was because he prescanned before receiving that in the box. Split second intelligence and his bipedality sure helps his composure on the ball in the box. He makes way but he has made a solid case for himself to be Super Eagles' number 2 striker.

I'm glad you noticed Dessers' constant head movements before receiving the ball. His intelligence, movement and positioning are some of his best qualities. I love intelligent players.

Would have been nice if Dessers was strong on his left foot as well.

He scored about 8 or 9 goals with his left foot this past season. That's very impressive for a naturally right footed player. Very few strikers can confidently score with both feet. The only thing is that he's more confident scoring with his right than he is with his left.
