If the Government were serious (and that includes the so called ECOWAS) they would have made the initiative to take loans to build massive industrial scale water boreholes to irrigate the lands back to its green form in the Sahel where they are all from (because I bet you thousands of meters down, there are huge acquifers buried in the sand). And ECOWAS would have had some sense to get some loans to build massive desalination plants (just the way Israel which you so hate did) and pipe that water all the way to those desert prone areas so that there would be water and irrigation for both plants and animals. This would have transformed their Sahel economies too.

But instead what do we get? We get very asnine and ridiculous moves by a certain Buhari who WASTED billions of dollars looking for non-exisiting oil in Sharia states and building a railway to Niger...instead of building massive water projects in those arid regions so that both farmers and herders would have enough space to do their thing without having to wander off to the Middle Belt Savannah...kill people for their lands and then do the same thing down in the South too.

Simple Water in the end would have had more economic value than complex hydrocarbons if those in charge had their priorities straight.

But what do i know....impatient GREED can make people brain dead and not really think at all.
