There are more worse tenants than you have of landlords.
Terrible people who will want to thrash your house, overcrowd the place and refuse to pay rents.

Imagine Nigeria using 3 strikers in a match.

Osimhen, Arokodare and Desser
If we don't have strong, creative midfielders and wingers pushing the ball to the attackers, it will still not amount to much.

These behaviors are abnormal. You have relative peace and freedom but some evil in these guys will drive them to invite others into chaos, anarchy and terrorism. Social misfits that deserves to live separately.

But the report is about percentage of the population with a bachelor's degree or higher. Nigeria definitely has more than 6% as reported for mainland China which is featured. They probably show focussed group and not necessarily ranked in of percentage.

Okay, let's see if this works, as we need technical people, and a lot of people would benefit from technical education rather than university
The problem, though, is zero policies to push industrialization. At the end, pay stipends, and still students graduate into a no job situation.

Not really. If you graduate from a Technical School, it is easy for you to set up on your own. Example is wood work, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrician, Refrigeration, Welder, Mechanics etc. It is a formal school for all of the above among others. What differentiates you from the roadsides and uncertified is your ability to read and writes, communication, ability to read and interpret blue prints/ drawings, etc. The skills are marketable and you could be independent very easily. And if you decide to a company, the pay is usually very good especially if you decide to go abroad

That is,real clowning.
You are converting polytechnics and technical colleges to universities left, right and centre on the one hand, yet on the other hand saying you are paying 45k stipends to technical college students.
Asides being ironic,it also doesn't make any sense.
Next, you pay doctors and nurses during training to incentisize them to stay?
Engineers, okay, more students enroll in engineering and get 60k per month.
Oh,what of agricultural students,go into agricultural studies with 50k every month so that there would be more farmers.Education, ditto and the list goes on and on!
Do you know the difference between Technical College and Polytechnic?

This man is full of brilliant ideas.

After God na Tinubu
I don't know about after God is ... After God is God is what I know. But on the issue of policies that will stand the test of time and will revolutionize the way we do things in Nigeria and bring prosperity in the long run, I agree that Tinubu is full of wonderful ideas. We should also bear in mind that with subsidy gone, the money saved can be channelled into implementing some of these ideas

Technical college students to get N45,000 monthly — FG
28th May 2025

By
Adetutu Sobowale

The Federal Government has announced a monthly payment of N45,000 for students in technical colleges across Nigeria.

This move was said to be part of a plan to bring new life to Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

The Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Idris Bugaje, shared this in an interview in Abuja while speaking on the second year of President Bola Tinubu’s istration on Wednesday.

Bugaje said the plan was part of a bigger effort to improve the TVET system and make it more appealing than regular university education.

He explained that the goal was to grow the TVET sector fast and get more students to enrol in technical colleges.

He added that the government will not only pay the monthly stipend but will also handle other costs.

Bugaje said, “The government will pay school fees, give money to industry-based supervisors (called master class instructors), and cover the cost of skill certification.

With this, young people will find it more attractive to come to a technical college, acquire skills qualifications, get jobs locally and even beyond the borders of Nigeria.

“This way, the whole sector is being repositioned. We are at the moment facing what you may call either a resurrection or a rebirth of TVET.”

He noted that TVET used to be well-ed in Nigeria in the past.

During colonial days and the early part of our independence, TVET had received attention. But, since the 1980s, we have been going down the drain. That is why the number of technical colleges has dropped, from 129 at the moment, compared to 15,000 senior secondary schools in Nigeria,” he said.

Bugaje expressed hope that this new effort will turn things around.

He revealed that Tinubu’s government has set aside N120 billion to students under this new TVET plan.

“This money will be given through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

The N45,000 is not a loan, but a grant. Students who enjoy this are not going to pay back. We want to encourage more people to enrol in technical education,” he said.

To keep the programme running, Bugaje said the Minister of Education was working on a bill.

The bill aims to create a National Skills Fund under the new Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework.

This was an idea we have been talking about in the past years, but the new minister has taken it up.

“The bill shall soon be presented in the National Assembly to establish the Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework and under it, the National Skills Fund.

“The National Skills Fund will continue to fund TVET institutions, not only those in government colleges but also those in the private sector,” he said.

Ladies who reason like this do not understand that when trouble comes, they may not have family or even friends to run to. Nothing bad in welcoming family into your home, but don't allow them to run your lives except if you are totally dependent on them
