A Ghanaian lawyer, Chris-Vincent Agyapong, has said that it's better for a woman to be the 50th wife of billionaire businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko than to be the only wife of a useless man.

Toke Benson, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, was allegedly involved in a public altercation with an unidentified man who she reportedly slapped for recording her in a video shared by Sahara Reporters

Eko Hot Blog reports that Commissioner Benson was in the process of directing security operatives to remove someone from a facility when she noticed the man recording her actions.

Sisters Set Father On Fire After Rape

Two teenage sisters were arrested in Pakistan for killing their father by setting him on fire in revenge for rape, police said Wednesday.

The father was attacked in the Punjabi city of Gujranwala on January 1 and taken to hospital where he died on Tuesday.

“The girls said that they decided amongst themselves to find a ‘permanent solution’,” Rizwan Tariq, a senior police official in the city, told AFP.

One of the wives has also been arrested while the second is being questioned.

Suspect who beheaded 80-year-old woman, others paraded

The Ogun State Police Command has paraded 27-year-old Afeez Ayeteru, who allegedly killed and beheaded an 80-year-old woman, simply identified as Aduke, in Ado Odo Ota area of the state.

The Command’s Commissioner, Lanre Ogunlowo, made the disclosure while parading the suspect alongside 24 others on Monday.

The Commissioner said the command received a distress call from the deceased’s neighbour and rushed to the scene where they arrested the suspect while he attempted to flee.

Ogunlowo also paraded 45-year-old twin brothers, Taiwo and Kehinde Yemitan, who allegedly killed one Darasimi, female, and dismembered her body parts for rituals.

The Commissioner noted that the incident occurred at Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, saying that the suspects confessed to the crime.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, one of the twin brothers, Taiwo, confessed to the crime.

He said the victim was his friend and she was the first person he killed as he used to sell human parts killed by other organ harvesters.

The Commissioner said the suspects would face charges in court once the investigations were completed.

He said other suspects were arrested for offences which included kidnapping, murder, and cultism among others.

He noted that all the arrests were achieved within the last three weeks.

Ogunlowo urged the people of the state to continue providing timely information to aid the efforts of the police in preventing and addressing criminal activities.

He issued a stem warning to criminals in the state, saying the police in Ogun State would flush them out.

“We will not hesitate to take action against those who refuse to comply,” he said.

“The two suspects, in order to cover up for the incident, dug a shallow grave in their compound and buried Chibuzor.”

Itam, who was giving an update on the state of security and police response of the state police command added that aside the two brothers’ evil act, that his men attached to the Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugu Ukwu, Njikoka local government area also made a breakthrough in crime cracking.

He said this came after they raided an identified black spot in Umunaga Village, Awka South LGA during which they apprehended one Okechukwu Chinwuko, aged 27 years of Umunaga Village and Ezenwa Chinedu, 22 years of Umuneri Village.

The arrest led to the recovery of incriminating objects, including one pump action gun, four live cartridges, a cutlass, criminal charms, and substances suspected to be hard drugs.

He also spoke on four missing but recovered babies who had been stolen from their parents in Bauchi State and sold to another person in Anambra State

“The suspects confessed to the crime and narrated the role that each of them played. One of the children has been identified and efforts are being made to unite the child with his parents,” the said.

According to Itam on December 24, 2024, a t security operation led by the Nigeria Police Force and comprising the Military, Civil Defence, and Anambra Vigilante operatives successfully dismantled a criminal camp located in Nimo, Njikoka local government area.

The operation, he informed led to the recovery of 19 unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices, IED, destruction of several makeshift structures within the camp with fleeing suspects receiving significant injuries.

Other crimes he spoke about are as follows:

Rescue of two female victims forcibly abused sexually by criminals
Arrest of over 300 suspects, securing 15 convictions, and rescuing 14 kidnapped victims unhurt.
Recovery of a substantial amount of arms and ammunition, including 43 unexploded improvised devices, over 100 different brands of arms, and 2,937 ammunition of various types.
Recovery of 40 stolen vehicles and various brands of motorcycles
Arrest of a notorious kidnapper, known as Pablo, who had been terrorizing Ihiala community of Anambra State, and other areas in Enugu and Delta states.
