I am afraid I beg to differ. Annual JAMB records show that Imo State indigenes seek university education more than any other state in Nigeria, even before Mr. Rochas became governor. Therefore, for a state where its citizens seek higher education in large numbers, common sense should tell their governor and high-networth-individuals (HNIs) from the state to invest massively in its education sector.

That being said, it doesn't in any way justify abandoning IMSU and IMSUTH though. But I think why those two are gradually collapsing is that the state governor grants free education up to university level, hence no money to run them effectively. This, in my opinion, is completely unnecessary as university education is NOT for everyone. Yes, you read that right: university education SHOULD NEVER BE FREE

And before someone calls the free education thing a scam, well, I know it's true because my kid brother finished from IMSU.

I quite agree with u that uni education must should not b free cos is very expensive to sustain.
I was really surprised when a cousin of mine that is in imsu told me that they are paid around 100k every year by the state government to cater for their fees and every other expense in school. I was like is it for real. when rich state like river are withdrawing students on scholarship. I think it may not be sustainable though it will have a very positive effect on the over all drive toward education in the state if managed to be sustained.

Any honest Rivers person or inhabitant will tell you for free that Rivers State has gone to a hits ever since Amaechi left the state. Wike still thinks he is in campaign mode where his lies and deceit still has an effect. Unfortunately he does not realise that people are tired of stories that touch.

The only construction works of note still going on in the State are all Amaechi works. Many of the small inner street roads Wike constructed are all abominable to behold and have started going bad less than 2 years after they were done because they just graded and tarred those roads without putting in proper foundations and drainage.

Like I ask the people who still sing Wike's praise, kindly break down his achievements in the state in the area of;

1. Security
2. Health care
3. Education
4. Infrastructure
5. Economic rejuvenation
6. And any other sector.

The Man is just a thug.

I really pray for that State cos it seems to be stuck in its foolish ways. Same for Bayelsa.

this to me is cheap propaganda. the chrismas tree isnt built with N600m and Rochas is not owing workers either. I have being to the freedom fall where this tree is located and I tell you its just a beauty to behold. A lot of people are trooping into the city to see this tree and its environs . Owerri is a tourist and hospitality city and I commend the government in developing it in that line.

OP, i was born in Old GRA in Port Harcourt, my parents are both from Rivers state. PDP would win Rivers State a 1000 times. Ameachi did so much havoc in Port Harcourt during his tenure as governor. He insulted traditional rulers, created stools were he could not get influence, owe civil servant salaries with excuse of declining revenue, sold peoples cars thro Timariv, closed down the judiciary, built monoria to no were, abandoned so many projects, wimpy road etc,... Ameachi was a dictator, and no true rivers man would want him or dakuku. as for Niger Info. that radio station is for APC ers to air their bias view. Op go to the streets and interview a cross section of true rivers indigence and residence, you will get the true pulse of the people. All this social media propaganda would not change the game. it is still fresh in our memories how ameachi insulted Jonathan. Even Tinubu never insulted OBJ the way ameachi did.

Rivers money is for rivers people and dakuku is ameachi's third tenure in disguise.

of course yes. the reason is that it gives you a statistical sample or opinion poll of the cross section of the people of Rivers (ie the 23LGA of Rivers and not PH/Obio-Akpor alone).
And mind you not only the Known regular callers that has biase towards the APC but also the mainstream callers. this trend is the same with almost the about ten radio stations in Rivers state. so how best can we ascertain the opinion poll of people . mind you just like PDP is popular in PH and Obio Akpor their are LGAs that you will go where APC holds sway.

If you reside in Rivers and listens to radio stations you will have notices that contributors to political matters have more of APC ers than the PDP. this may be an indication that the APC may be more popular than the ruling PDP since the contributes represent statistically a cross section of the 23 local government area in the state. if you are an ardent follower of political discussion on Radio especially in 92.3 Nig. Info you must have been familiar with names like Ebere from Rumu Ndele, Bar. chizy, Glad West, Akanto Boutique, Jude Ubani, suzy from Erema, Chimanem Wordi, Chile from Ugbakiri, Innocent Amadi, Basil Amadi, Mrs. Dimkpa, Emzor Uzor, Baba for the masses, D Radio senator, J A J, etc. these names and perhaps more are about the most popular radio contributors in the state. these callers are scattered all over the 23 local government of the state with more than 60% pro APC ers. similar statistics is also true for the Unknown contributors.

though in PH and obio/Akpor LGAs due to the large population of the non indigenous Igbos who make up over 45% of the population there, PDP seem to hold sway in these two local government. This is perhaps the reason why most people think that Rivers is mainly PDP. though am not a fan, PDP should go back and do their home work to win over in other LGA because there will be no federal migth this time around. I ed one of Wike's campaigns in Rumueme Area of PH where he told his ers to endeavour to vote for GEJ and forget about him. that the very day of the guber they would use cane on the APC ers. this advantage is no more longer there hence PDP should mobilize to field the earlier the better.
