You are very correct. Those symbolic gestures are deeply rooted in our custom and carry deep meaning they can’t be overlooked or sidestepped. Nigeria weeding is not all about the glam’, light, camera, action neither is it about the color combos’ but about the deep rooted culture, tradition and identity of a people. |

Stephench: You do know US accuses some countries of deliberately devaluing their currencies? We are so blind to see the inherent opportunity available to us as a result of devaluation of the currency and that’s because we depend on government to feed us like babies. Find yourself a job or product or anything for that matter that can earn you money in dollar and see if you won’t benefit greatly from the devaluation. Now imagine a lot of youths do same. If they call you lazy and clueless youth now will be mad and angry. Clueless children of hate. 1 Like |

If everyone needing to xchange naira to $ or $ to naira goes through the official window instead of black market then we can see the naira appreciating further. 33 Likes 2 Shares |

Nigerian s on Binance are currently unable to access the platform peer-to-peer (p2p) features as the service appears to be offline. s cannot find the NGN on the list of available currencies on the Binance P2P platform. The latest development comes as the Nigerian government struggles to save the free-falling naira (NGN). It remains unclear if the unavailability of the P2P function is part of Binance’s efforts to help salvage the currency or a bug in the system. About a week ago, Binance capped the selling price of Tether (USDT) tokens on its Nigerian P2P platform to 1,802 NGN per coin and temporarily disabled the sell option for the stablecoin. The move was to ensure compliance with the Nigerian authorities, who have been in a battle against heightened inflation and economic instability in the country. The Binance NGN/USDT price cap blocked traders’ s that tried to sell above the limit. This pushed market participants on the exchange to other platforms that had not enforced similar restrictions. In a statement addressing the matter, Binance said the price cap resulted from an automatic system pause triggered by significant currency movement, adding that the issue was temporary as adjustments were being made to resume normal services. However, with the current situation, it appears that the P2P issue is far from over. The Binance customer team said the P2P unavailability will be fixed soon, and an update on the matter will be provided in time. The Nigerian crypto community believes the recent incidents are part of a t effort to combat the naira’s depreciation, as it is unlikely that the biggest crypto P2P market in the world would suddenly go offline. Since mid-2023, NGN has fallen significantly against the United States dollar (USD), crashing in double digits from about 700 NGN/$1 to more than 1,800 NGN/$1. Traders have contributed to this free-fall by manipulating the NGN’s price on Binance P2P through fake ads. The Central Bank of Nigeria and other economic agencies have launched a t initiative to fight issues like forex speculation, which play a role in the country’s economic instability. https://coinfomania.com/binance-p2p-goes-offline-for-nigerians/amp/ |

ckc: I will give you a practical example this past Xmas and new year celebrations resulting from the floating. I don’t know where you are based but in Lagos and most parts of Nigeria you will notice an influx of people from especially UK and US and other European countries. They came in and spent like they pluck the money at their base. I was force to caution one of my friend from UK seeing how he was gettin reckless with spending. At this point he had spent 1.6m naira in buying drinks, food and whatever. Drunken and carelessly he said “Ak, the much I have spent so far is just about my 2 days wage, don’t I know what the exchange rate is? “. I laughed and continued with what I was doing. All this happened at Rapsody in Ikeja. They were called IJGB’s (the I just got back) that’s how crazy it was. The influx was as a result of the floating of the currency. On the island at that period you will hardly see hotels with vacant rooms. This is the case in other parts of the economy with time I’m sure we will see the result. |

Please guys in the house, I’m looking at applying for a visiting visa to UK and one of the criteria for application is to show evidence of your financial standing and funds available to you. I want to know if I can use money in my crypto as evidence of funds available to me, reason being I have converted a great part of my money to US dollar for obvious reasons stored away in my Binance . Pls guys is this acceptable? |

This is not fair if it’s true but what I can figure out from her outburst is that the story has no substance. She said a lot of things but no particular mention of what happened or even line of event that that lead to all she said. Sounds more like she need psychiatric help if you ask me. However I hope the military authorities should investigate her allegations. |
