Good afternoon, pls I invested in T bill
I was paid upfront interest ,when I received the certificate it was stated that maturity value subject to 10percent withholding tax , does it mean they will deduct the 10percent from the face value at maturity.
Or I will received all my money at maturity
They are suppose to deduct from the interest amount.
Then at maturity, your face value will be your principal invested. Confirm your face value is the amount invested and they have not deducted WHT on before crediting your upfront interest. You can determine this by PRT/100=Interest. If amount is 10% less of what you received, no need to worry. Wht has been deducted already. At maturity you get back principal. You won't be charged twice

Sorry about that. Maybe he mistook do not invest the internet for invest instead.
If not your urgent need for the money, I would have said if the interest was invested at same bank rate with the principal and the interest tallies, you should just leave it to run.
I said the above because back then, my TB was once reinvest at maturity even when I asked them to drop it in my . I was furious with the First Bank branch. Then first (Their Customer Care HQ) was still very effective. I mailed them and got a call from them that I should go and meet the manager of the branch. When I got there, she tried to convince me to let it run and insisted I needed my money.
Long story short, it was later resolution at the prevailing market rate which was not upto the rate it was initially invested. Thus, I lost a few coins on and still had a tainted relationship because I was seen to be rigid in my stance.
With investment firm, I think It easier to just reverse and give you your interest as requested.
Sorry about that experience

Good evening all.
Please for a TB of 3,700,000 @18.5% for 364 days. The interest is also invested, how much should be expected at maturity?
Principal of 3.7 should give 3,700,000*364*18.5/36500=682,624.66.
The interest will also depends on the rate it was booked if it's same rate, you can use above calculation and replace 3.7m with 682k. Also bear in mind there's 10%WHT on the interest amount.
But wait o, which company gave you 18.5% is it primary market?

TB gurus, which is more profitable.
1. Investing capital and interest.
2. Getting the interest upfront and reinvesting separately.
Thank you
Both are almost similar but I prefer the former. I just go for interest at maturity and whatever yield is what will apply on my principal amount.

Okay, i see,
Is necessary for Bonds.
I am trying to open the stuff with Stanbic online but then it keeps showing me something went wrong.
I ed them via email and they offered me an option of paper fill but that i will have to pay 1mil 1st to their position.
My question now is, if I credit them the 1 million and the is opened, can I withdraw my fund back and invest how much I want is the 1 mil the minimum operating balance? So I can't withdraw it
I don't use stanbic but opening is suppose to be free.
Afterwards, you can deposit amount you want to invest with them

They had 28% possession against Barca, and people were hyping them because they won. It would have been a travesty if they had lifted this cup.
True. If not for Barca's weak defence, the match would have been an interesting Psg vs Barca

Exactly bro.
Exactly.
All these rubbishing the TB regularly should just stop.
You know quiet well before clicking on the thread that it is a TB group, so why come to rubbish it.
I am even okay with TB up to 15% provided interest rate/lending rate falls close to 20% too.
Below 15%, i will half my investment and put the other half in dollar mutual fund at 10% per annum to diversify but won't leave the naira investment totally.
You won't appreciate liquid investments like mutual funds, TB and bonds until you meet yourself in urgent emergencies then you will know solid cash like land may land you in problem to quickly and easily convert back to liquid cash to solve your problems.
The agents would smell your desperation and starts giving you shitty prices. Bring buyer today to inspect to come next week with cash which he will disappoint. Some will even say they only have 3m on ground for a 5m bargained land, out of desperation, you will say Yes only for them to say it is even 1.5m cash that is on ground to pay the rest in 6 months etc.
Also, let's be careful on this group, apart from land agents, so many scammers are on nairaland looking for who to dupe. It is an anonymous group and anybody can claim to be what they are not...rich, have large investment in TB, bought this land for this price to sell for this price etc all just to lure unsuspecting with cash to them privately on how to help them.
Well said bro. Those discussing lands/properties can go to the property section.

Yield? Now I’m more confused…. What’s the difference.. and I thought Tbills interest is payed upfront, do they have option for interest at maturity.
Please in simple .. with this picture I posted below, how much will I be paid if I invest in primary auction of TB
How much you will get all depends on the tenure and amount you are investing.
Take for instance P*R*T/100, the calculation will give you your interest amount.
10,000,000*0.1956*364/100=1,950,641. Some banks deduct custodian and other charges, some also deduct W.H.T from interest amount.

Someone told me the primary auction rate is 24% while you’re saying 19.5.. now I’m more confused.
Omo my banks don’t want to give me much information. They’re insisting I go for secondary. Is there any bank or investment institution that can help with the primary auctioning when next it’s to happen
enque is correct. Rate is 19.5 except the person is saying yield which is 24.3%. You will get it if you re-invest or opt in for interest at maturity
Also, ensure you invest with a bank or licensed investment company.
Regards,

Since Bayern sextuple and MSN. I haven't seen these kind of frightening overloads.
True. Iike what he's doing with FCB currently. Whether he progresses or not, he's done a good job his first season
