And what has been the result of that?!
Wike is overambitious and that's his problem.
He could have stopped Atiku's comeback but his greed made him shortsighted.
You are angry with Atiku because he defected but you were chilling with Tambuwal who orchestrated the downfall of GEJ.
Second time, your avarice and greed made you to chase Obi out but Atiku dealt with him.
The pain of Wike is that Atiku will get the ticket of PDP even in his sleep.
He can't wrap his head over that.
I just hope they give Wike the PDP ticket so we can see his electoral worth.
All these stories are not relevant to the discussion. Did Wike save the party or not? That's my interest

Wike and Fayose installed and uninstalled Ali Modu Sheriff.
Why should we praise them?!
Wike installed Secondus and Ayu and remove them due to his selfishness.
Bet me, he will fight Anyanwu and Damagum very soon.
Wike is mad man with access to government funds.
I am not saying they should be praised. But that is to tell you how much they control the party. They were doing and undoing because they were the ones giving the party breath

Shifting the goal post?

Did you get dyslexic and so didn't mention Buba Galadima?

Are we talking about whether FFK had followers or not? Abi I am trying to tell you PDP who criticized Buhari a million times more than Wike.
FFK had no immunity but he steadily blasted Buhari more than anyone in the history of this country, he even had a court case.

Bode George wanted to go on exile? Are you saying he didn't blast Buhari from time to time.
Abeggi rest with your God and Savior Wike, who was criticizing Buhari's policy in the day and running to Aso Rock in the night.

Ayo Fayose,, does it matter whether you mentioned him or not?

You clearly told me to mention 2 people who criticized Buhari more than Wike.

Yes Fayose is one of them, even Wike didn't have the balls to say to Buhari what Fayose said to Buhari....

Abeg rest.
May be Buba was active in your backyard. Buba Galadima kò., Buba glaucoma ni. Ayo Fayose and Wike were the 2 that restled Alimodu Sheriff to submission. Where were your Bode George? Who removed Secondus. You forget so easily.

Wike commissioned projects and have event almost every 3 days and AIT was always on ground which he used the avenue to tackle the ruling party, Amaechi, Buhari, and you are talking of people who only talk when they were invited to studio ones in 3 months. You go sabi book so?
olaolaking: 10:36am

I mentioned above opposition leaders who didn't hide under immunity to bash and blast Buhari both personal and policy wise.
They never had immunity but even Wike didn't have the courage to say the kinds of things they said to Buhari.

Buba Galadima
Fani Kayode
Ayo Fayose
Dino Melaye
Bode George

Where they not PDP??

Besides stop yawning dust, Wike alone did not finance the PDP.

Yes he spent money within the PDP building his personal structures,
Using huge funds to bribe his way to install 4 consecutive party Chairmen.

Spending Rivers money to produce Tambuwal for 2019 and himself for 2023.

Don't get it twisted!!

1. The 5 people u mentioned above criticized Buhari a million times more than Wike did.(There are even more which I can't now)

2. Wike spent Rivers money to build his personal structures, install party Chairmen and produce presidential candidates.
That's not how you spend money on a party.

The party had many ways of generating funds;; party dues, sale of funds,, even all governors were funding especially the South South governors.
You are lying in a public place.

Dino was in APC and you claim he was speaking for PDP?

Bode George who said he will go to exile and as result of that remained dumb for the first tenure. Fani Kayode that has no position and followers is the voice? You lie so much.

I already mentioned Ayo Fayose. Probably you are a poor reader

So out of over a thousand top politicians that refused to flee PDP in 2015, you still say;
"Wike refused to flee"

And you need to recognize,,

For every 1 day that Wike sustained the PDP, hundreds died of hunger and sickness in his home state of Rivers State.

Keep that in mind.

How does this negate the fact that Wike finance PDP?

Mention 2 PDP that were on Buhari's neck or was the voice of the opposition. Let hear you

Without PDP, Wike would have died of hunger, poverty and starvation since 1999.
Pdp gave him their ticket to contest for obio akpor LGA chairmanship position.
Pdp gave him his first ministerial position under GEJ, PDP still gave him their ticket to contest the gubernatorial position in 2015 election even when it wasn't the turn of his senatorial district.
Wike has benefitted more from pdp than PDP benefits from him.
Pdp gives him full control of the mandate given to him.
But whatever Wike does in pdp, he do it for selfish reasons...

If you are talking of 1999 while I am referring to 2015, I can't help you.

However, you never counter the point. I would have preferred that you mention the people who sustain PDP throughout Buhari's tenure of 8 years

My name is Ola. A patriotic citizen. I neither have affiliation with any political party nor have a candidate

History is often written by those who shout the loudest, not those who labored the longest. As many scramble to paint Nyesom Wike as the villain of the PDP’s 2023 failure, they conveniently forget one uncomfortable truth: without Wike, there might not even be a PDP to talk about today.

Let’s go back to 2015.
That year, the People’s Democratic Party suffered a catastrophic loss. After 16 years in power, the party was defeated by the APC at the national level. For many political players, that was the end. There was no ideology strong enough to keep them. No loyalty to a struggling party. They ran. They defected. They distanced themselves. The PDP was declared dead by many commentators.

But not by Wike.

The Man Who Refused to Flee
While others retreated, Nyesom Wike stood his ground. As a first-time governor in Rivers State, he could have stayed quiet, focused on local governance, and avoided the turbulence of opposition politics. But he didn’t.

He put his personal and political capital on the line. He financed, organized, protected, and mobilized the PDP when it became unpopular to even say the party's name in public. From convention crises to court cases, Wike was the engine room that kept the party functional when its national structures were in disarray.

Anyone who witnessed the court battles over national chairmanship, the attempted takeovers, and the series of factional warfares knows the truth. Without Wike’s resources, resilience, and courage, the PDP might not have survived those storms. The party's National Secretariat could’ve been a ghost house.

The Role of Ayo Fayose and the Gradual Transfer of Burden
Let’s also acknowledge that Wike wasn’t entirely alone in the early years after 2015. Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, another fearless southern PDP stalwart, stood by him. Together, they formed the backbone of the resistance against APC dominance. They were the two voices that roared when the rest of the PDP was whispering in fear.

But by the end of Fayose’s term in 2018, his political strength waned. He no longer had the state apparatus or federal relevance. The torch ed, fully, to Wike. And he carried it alone—for years.

From 2019 to 2022, Wike became not just the soul of the party, but its primary financier, mobilizer, and defender. He hosted meetings, held the ground in Rivers, and made the PDP a household name when other states were lost to APC dominance. Throughout Buhari's 8 years, the only audible voice from the opposition was from Wike

The Irony: Those Who Benefited Turned Against Him
And yet, when it came time for the PDP to choose its flag bearer for 2023, the same party that Wike had rescued—singlehandedly in many ways—refused him the ticket. Worse still, it refused to accommodate his interests or recommendations even after the primaries.

What followed was not betrayal from Wike. What followed was a deep disillusionment, the kind that comes when a man who nurtured a dying structure is told he’s no longer needed. When those who once knelt at your table now slam the door in your face.

Let’s Reframe the Conversation
Wike may be controversial. He may be confrontational. But one thing he is not, is a coward. In the darkest years of the PDP, he was its shield. He turned Port Harcourt into the party’s lifeline. While others sold out, he stood firm. While many were mocking the PDP’s collapse, he rebuilt it, brick by brick.

And now, those who couldn’t bear the weight of opposition are rewriting history—casting Wike as the problem, when for many years, he was the solution.

Give Credit Where It’s Due
You don’t have to agree with everything Wike has done. But if you are telling the story of the PDP between 2015 and 2022, and you leave out his name, you’re not writing history—you’re editing it.

The PDP may have failed in 2023. But it did not die in 2015—because Wike refused to let it.

Sodiq3:

The Igbo Elders Consultative Forum has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's istration has failed to deliver any tangible development to the Southeast.

The elders warned that, given the current state of affairs, the All Progressives Congress (APC) may struggle to secure even 25 per cent of the votes in the Southeast come 2027.

Secretary General of the forum, Prof. Charles Nwekeaku, made the declaration in an exclusive interview with The Guardian on Monday.

He said the current APC istration has neglected the region's infrastructural and economic needs.

The don was responding to the argument by some Southeast politicians that President Tinubu has done enough for the region to deserve re-election.

For instance, during the 2025 Sallah celebration with the Ebonyi Muslim community in Abakaliki, capital of the state, Minister of Works David Umahi hailed the impact of President Tinubu in the Southeast and the entire country in general

Umahi credited Tinubu with reversing years of federal neglect in the Southeast.

"Before now, many Southeast states had no federal projects. But today, the federal presence is visible across the region. That is true national integration,” Umahi said.

But Nwekeaku dismissed such claims as dishonest and unrepresentative of the people’s sentiment.

The don insisted that in 2027, the Southeast will vote for merit, ability, and good governance and not party loyalty.

He said: These politicians saying all that represent themselves. They are selfish. They don't represent the people. Now, I ask you, go to southeast. I just came back yesterday. I missed my flight.

"I came back by road. Every 100 meters, police checkpoint or military checkpoint.
Not one kilometer now. I'm saying 100 meters in the southeast. And the road is terrible.

"The road that would take one hour would take you four hours in the southeast. So, tell me the one that the government has reconstructed. Tell me any major project they have done.

"Is it the gas project they are doing? They marginalised the southeast. Nothing in the southeast. Is it the railway? Tell me, what are they doing that warrants these governors to say that the president is doing well? Instead of telling Mr. President the truth

"The igbos will vote for merit, ability and good governance. If things continue like this I don't think the APC will get 25 per cent in South east come 2027. We are going to retire most of these politicians.

Nwekeaku also criticised politicians defecting to the ruling APC, saying their actions was self-serving and devoid of any genuine interest in the people they claim to represent.

He further criticised the worsening economic conditions under the APC-led government.

The don added: "Why are politicians defecting? Already two or three governors from PDP have defected to APC. Why are they defecting? Were they elected under APC? What are their reasons? Because they failed to put their house in order. And because a number of them have soiled their hands.

"That's why they are trying to escape any form of investigation and that's why they are defecting. It's not that they have any major plans for the people.

"Why are they defecting to APC? I want to ask you. What has the federal government done? What is the exchange rate of the Naira now? About 1,500 and something. If you go to the parallel market, N1,600, N1,000, almost N1,700. That is the exchange rate.

"This has made the Nigerian laborer the cheapest in the world. Whether you are a professor in Nigeria, a graduate assistant abroad, earns by far more than myself and any other professor. They tell you that the governors have more money now.

"The federal government said that they have increased the minimum wage to N70,000. Now, when the minimum wage was N30,000, N8,000 or N7,500 could buy you a bag of rice. Is that not true? Today, what they say they have increased, it cannot buy a bag of rice for you."

https://guardian.ng/news/tinubu-did-nothing-for-southeast-cant-secure-25-vote-igbo-group/

Everything is targeted at the Igbos. Exchange rate is high all over the country. Igbo man say it targeted at them. Minimum wage cannot buy a bag of rice all over the country. Igbo man say it their own marginalization.

The Presidency, on Monday, reacted to the criticism of former Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as a ‘shallow’ personality who is not well grounded in the issues of economics and governance.

Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, disclosed this in a statement posted via his official X .

While stating that he was surprised Obi could agree with the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu, especially on fuel subsidy removal and the unification of foreign exchange, Bwala emphasised that it was obvious the former Anambra governor and other opposition figures were simply after taking over power, all the while.

He wrote, “Is anybody watching Peter Obi on Arise TV?

” He agreed with our policy of removal of subsidy and unification of the foreign exchange; he claimed he would have done it better than us in an ‘organised manner’

“He was asked what the ‘organised manner ‘ is.’ He played with words, yet to arrive at agreeing with us.

“Anybody with a rational mind knows these guys are just looking to grab power, but they don’t have any alternative agenda.

“He seems to have very shallow knowledge of economics and governance.

“, this is even an interview anchored by a member of his Obidient movement.

“That’s why you don’t hear ‘I put it to you’ and no barking like a rottweiler; Yet ‘if it didn’t Dey it didn’t Dey.”

On Monday, Obi challenged Tinubu to for how his istration expended the billions of revenue reportedly saved from the removal of fuel subsidy.

He made the demand when he was featured as a guest on Arise Television.

While itting that there was nothing wrong with the removal of the controversial petroleum subsidy and floating of the naira, Obi conceded that he would have done the same if he were to be elected president.

The former Anambra governor, however, argued that he would have implemented the policies gradually and in a more ‘organised’ way than the ‘haphazard’ way the Federal Government went about it.

Obi said, “I have consistently maintained that I would have removed the fuel subsidy.

“If you go to my manifesto, it is there and the steps I would have taken in an organised manner.

“There is nothing wrong with the removal of the fuel subsidy.

“What is wrong is the haphazard way in which it was announced and implemented.
,
“Since we were told that we removed it because we don’t want to borrow and that the funds will allow for investments in critical infrastructure.

“Billions saved. Where is it? Where is it invested in critical areas of development?”

https://punchng.com/obi-desperate-for-power-ignorant-about-governance-presidency/
Without mincing a word, Obi is shallow, naive, immature and lack experience. It is all over him. He can't even engage well. Reason why his only "go to" TV is Arise where they won't scrutinize him
