DMerciful:That's why I said he picked on Wike too early. That's the law of state capture and resources appropriation. After Wike foisted off Sim on Rivers people, the majority of the people see this issue like a family affair, e-no-concern-us outlook. Whereas it's Rivers State affair through and through. 1 Like |

Kokomaster69:Tonye Cole is not a dull and next to stupid as Sim. How could you agree to a deal and turn around against such deal? Tonye is a business man and understand the importance of MOU of every deal. Sim is a very big disappointment. Sim surprises me a lot. I am really ashamed of him. The only man remaining in sim is being man enough to resign. You can go through this humiliation and still remain as the governor. The LG Chairman of Ikweree LG was calling Sim out some days ago. I am ashamed as a Rivers person. |

Since Wike's camp has refused to withdraw ALL court cases as agreed. Then Sim Fubara has the right to fight on. We know the Supreme Court is still waiting for the highest bidder for their rotten conscience before they can rule on the Rivers Guber issue. |

fergie001: Is Justice Omotosho a visiting judge in Nigeria? Is he at home at all with the Provisions of the Constitution, more particularly Sections 106 (d); 109 (1) (g)? What does the Constitution say about lawmaker who defected from their erstwhile political party that sponsored them to office, when there is no division in the party? Omotosho should stop fooling himself. |
Bobloco: 4:55pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
garfield1: Stop being clever by half, bro. Honestly, I cringe at the way you boldly this illegality being perpetuated by Wike. You would rather advise that the governor should resign, but Wike shouldn't hands off and concentrate on his job as the minister of FCT. |
garfield1: 4:59pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
Bobloco: You are being clever by a quarter rather.is it not same fubara you hated during the polls? It is even fubara that is indulging in illegality.eceryrhing wike and the 27 assembly are doing is legal.they have the right to impeach the governor, or reject the budget.wike has a right to a candidate for election. 2 Likes |

fergie001: Can someone please tell the governor that he should sir up. Those people are impostors , they have resigned their hip of the party that brought them in in the public and the law is the law, let him tell them they are all illegals. And they can't have a word when a legitimate governor is sitting. Don't let any Abuja scare you .. you can't loose out . It's. 50-50 game 1 Like |

baralatie: You are heading to the jurisprudential realm of law and morality. You need to understand the doctrine of separation of powers and the principle of checks and balances. The legislature has the constitutional power to commence impeachment proceedings against the governor on the grounds of gross misconduct and only it can define what constitutes gross misconduct. Get that into your skull. A light reading on John Austin should set you straight. |

Yankiss:If Sim got their time, all the lawmakers will lose their seat in a sweep. Their defection to APC alone is a bumping trap for them. After losing the seat what else for them and Wike? |
BondRiv: 5:21pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
lagosrd: You have no idea. By your reading of the constitution, who has the power to declare the seats of those legislators vacant, if their defection does not comply with its provisions? I am waiting for your answer. Some of you don't know anything and come here to spew rubbish. 1 Like |

IgboSomalia:Yes, they are courts of coordinate jurisdiction but the cause of action happened in Rivers and there is a FHC in Porthacourt, why taking the case to Abuja when there is no formal complaint of insecurity or unrest that won't make them to seat in Porthacourt? Until these conditions are present before you transfer a case to Abuja. This is more of judicial rascality. And again it never a case of state against state. However, I don't think there is more issue here because the counsel to the governor went to court to withdrew the case. If they still want to rock the bolt, they can appeal the judgement and it will be trashed. |

BondRiv:It is within the purview of the legislative arm to institute impeachment proceeding on governor or his deputy but such must be done by following procedure and the first step on the governor was to serve a notice of impeachment on him, but that wasn't done. Even to the lawmakers, who are those that signed his impeachment notice and what was his offence that they need to state along their notice to the speaker of the house? Please can you direct me to such news that emanate from the house concerning the impeachment move against the governor? |
BondRiv: 5:53pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
IfnobeGod20: The proper procedures were followed. The speaker stated that at the time. That is old news. I won't do your research for you. They don't have to state his offence. Only the legislature can decide if the governor's acts for his impeachment amount to misconduct and proceed. |

Emma1Oj:Speak English man! Go back to when Oshiomole was booted out as APC chairman, read the power play that took place and stop making bare your ignorance. What can Oshiomole do now to a man already done with his second term, and has built a solid base? Isn't that why Obaseki rubbishes his deputy at will? Fubara is right now between the devil and the deep blue sea. The house is Wike-aligned, he still has a pending supreme court judgement which he isn't sure how it will turn out. Fubara mistake was making his intention known too quick without building a solid political base! This is not how to wrest power from a Godfather! Wrong move! 1 Like |

IfnobeGod20:Sim knows the heavy odds, that's why he played cool. In today's judiciary system with respect to precedence on electoral matters, all are no longer clear. Fmr HoR Speaker, Tambuwal defected without losing his seat despite no schism in his parent party. |
IfnobeGod20(m): 7:56pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
BondRiv:They need not state his offence? Some of you always think you know everything but in the long run you but know nothing. Always at the side of wrong thing and still want the country to move forward. Check below the procedure to impeaching a governor in Nigeria and stop this your novice thing. Again, you're also wrong to say, the legislators can determine whether the offence he committed amount to gross misconduct. It's the judges appointed for equiry to the misconduct that can say that through recommendation. If the judges say the issue preferred against the governor is worthless, there's nothing the legislators can do than to step the impeachment down but if they do to the contrary, they ran foul of the law.

Yankiss:He did it at the tail end of his tenure. He was having less than a year to go then. You know he has lifelines, from trial court, to appeal court, before ending it at the supreme court. These ones still have over three years. No matter how the judiciary drag it, the courts would have dispensed judgement before the expiration of their tenure. 1 Like |

IfnobeGod20: Go and read the constitution, not blog posts and opinions. They don't have to but can choose to explicitly state his offence(s). It suffices that his actions constitutes a misconduct. You don't know the law, yet you don't want to learn. |

Minime10: You have stated sections of the constitution, now apply it to Rivers State. That is where most people fail. Justice Omotosho delivered a sound judgement. |
Yankiss(m): 8:50pm On Jan 22, 2024 |
IfnobeGod20:Well your response shows u still have faith in the judiciary to do the right thing. What if they choose to call a spade a rake? As in returning them to their seats with legal technicalities? I share in your enthusiasm though. |

BondRiv:I love disgracing your kind because you always feel you know but you know nothing. This is what Nigerian constitution says on how to impeach a governor or his deputy in Nigeria according to section 188. Please I challenge you to quote any contrary one. Olodo rabata ojueja lo mo je.
