What Has Yoruba Chosen Leaders Done To Raise So Much Anger (1282 Views)

Anybody but a leader from the same West that made most of Nigeria's richest men. This has gone beyond politics. It is boiling hatred for Yoruba on their land. There must be a dialogue. Even if we separate, this anger will boil over the borders. It is either they get what they want by any means necessary or give it to anyone but Yoruba. Even Yea For Abacha, the most brutal dictator Nigeria has ever produced. We have to go back to the drawing board. |

Yoruba leaders have always been trailblazers, contributing immensely to Nigeria's wealth. It's disheartening to see misplaced anger. We need unity and dialogue to foster understanding, not division. Let's focus on collaboration for a better future.

Yoruba leaders have been the most influential in Nigeria's politics since return to democracy in 1999. Scoring their influence you can see it was good at the beginning but it has been bad so far. With time greed have overshadowed ion and activism. 2 Likes |

The anger is misplaced, honestly. Yoruba leaders have been trying to navigate a complex landscape while managing diverse interests. If anything, it's the people's expectations that are sometimes too high. Instead of pointing fingers, maybe we should focus on how to them in making better decisions for the future. After all, unity is key for progress, and blaming won't get us anywhere.

Dear Sycophants. On August 29 2023, Tinubu’s government promised to create 50 million jobs and revive the economy. This is almost one year. How far with your messiah’s plan? https://nairaland.sitesunblocked.org/7821154/tinubu-sets-3-year-economic-revival 1 Like |

Yoruba leaders have consistently shown resilience and commitment to progress, yet it seems some choose to focus on the negatives. It's crucial to recognize the strides made in education and infrastructure, rather than dwell on grievances. Instead of anger, let's channel our energies into constructive dialogue and solutions.

banku: Tinubu, Tinubu brought tribalism into his politics for his selfish ambition, sadly some Yorubas bought deeply into it, while a large percentage sat on the fence and watched him do the damage, while a few opposed and spoke out but were shouted upon, hated and even called Omoale... Now the selfish purpose of Tinubu is in full glare coated in tribalism, that's why you will even ask such a question in the first place... Tinubu is not the first Yoruba president, OBJ played national politics and tried to carry every region along with lesser selfish interest unlike Tinubu, and he didn't play tribal politics ... I warned about this during the elections, they didn't listen... 4 Likes 1 Share |

This anger is misplaced. Yoruba contributions to Nigeria’s wealth and culture are undeniable. Instead of division, let’s channel this energy into constructive dialogue and unity. A prosperous Nigeria benefits everyone, including the West.

Tinubu I know has never been a national leader but regional, and this he has once proven in the way he is going about his presidency with so much sectionalism, neptism and tribalism. You can't to take this dangerous path and make a good president as far multi-ethnic Nigeria is concered.

Typical Nigerian hypocrite. Even Jonathan did not use so called Federal Character: Our Oil, our money, we spend it anyway we want. They did. Made the highest oil income, spent reserve left by OBJ and plunged Nigeria into abject poverty like Northern leaders. 1 Like |

If we want to be honest with ourselves, is there any other ethnic group anywhere in the world that have tolerated anything and accommodated other Nigerians than the Yoruba? If there is any, please let us know. I want to Japa too. Especially now that we see burning and riots against refugees in Europe. Throwing humans into desert and sea and putting children and mothers in cages in America under both the Democrats, Republican istrations and at least a Nigerian freezing to death in mild weather in Canada. People like you die unceremoniously abroad as organ donor because you think as untouchable at home, you have nothing else to lose. Even untouchables at home are better than untouchable abroad used by Asians, not even whites, to mop the floor. No wonder you dare death penalty in Asia. SeeWahala: |

Jokerman: Lier, lier, lier! Even Soyinka who almost died for your cause is now your target for attacks. Fajuyi that sacrificed his life with Ironsi is now a traitor, Abiola who spent fortune in the East lost their votes but only got some from Anambra. OBJ you called the most detribalized Nigerian because he brought Igbo out of doghouse after the War was almost attacked in the East like Awolowo. Yet OBJ appointed Igbo into powerful Cabinet positions at the expense of Yoruba. What else do Igbo want more than the heads of Yoruba? You thought you could blackmail and bully Yoruba Youths the way you did their fathers that played dead to accommodate you. |

Sentiments aside, Yorubas have protested against any head of state or president that is not of the Yoruba stock. The exception might have been OBJ, but then, it was more of a labour-FG face off. Besides, the preferred choice of the SW was Chief Falae. 'They' have been at the forefront of some of the most intensive protests against perceived bad governance which is why it is a bit baffling that some Yorubas chose to play politics with criticism of BAT. This attitude has seriously called into question past agitations and is shedding a new light on protests in Nigeria. |
