Pojomojo:Dual citizenship does not make them a native. Only African Americans have the right to say they are native blacks in the US and Canada. Those in the UK entered aeroplane, so they know their papa village and mama house. Having a British port does not make one English. When time reach, questions will be asked. P.S. This omits those in the Caribbeans. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Well, he eventually japa but on a different level. Also, he had a good job in the FinTech sector that exposed him to all that he needed, including the partnerships, for his subsequent ventures. He has always been exceptional. opamoses1: 1 Like |

Majority of them are children of the rich who can pay exorbitant school fees of private schools. At these private schools, they have internal arrangements for making their students excel in examinations. After school, their parents sponsor them further to either another private school or abroad. I can bet that there are students that excel just like the ones you have listed here but here in Nigeria struggling, you should be holistic in your sampling. School is no scam truly but higher education may be scam because is not everybody that is destined to further their education up to tertiary institutions, such people are good in something else.

Pojomojo:That's why I laugh at those saying poly graduates are not on the list. Lots of poly graduates I know ended up as business owners with a lot into property development. Some are even billionaires especially those that studies construction related programs like quantity surveying and civil engineering. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The research itself is inconsistent. How many made their ways overseas through scholarships that the selection process was also clear and transparent. If measuring intelligence is by grades then this research to me is void. Education itself is multidimensional, there is the personal education, there is the structured education but all to one end, for the betterment of the individual and humanity at large. Also, we should also emphasize on opportunity awareness, most students don't even know better overseas programs exist yet apply. So if the education we place so much emphasis was effective, Africa ought not to be where we are, the academicians should have structured more better paths to our transformation. There is a difference between capacity to retain knowledge and capacity to utilize. And finally if you have kids or intend having kids, go out of your way to ensure there is sufficient funding for their education 1 Like |

olalekan1:I know a few that did that. Some of the guys are now doctors in the US, Canada, UK e.t.c. That's just life. Pre-campus around ogba during that era was a good example. Extremely expensive ![]() But those students too were mostly smart else, they would have struggled at university. |

Gerrard59:This. When I travelled abroad for my 2nd degree and hear of the big student loan alot of the home students have or were paying back, I start realizing that the only thing I gained from Nigeria was the almost free education I got at OAU. Then my accomodation was 90 naira per year. I think it eventually got increased and school fees went up after I graduated as well, but still very low compared to what alot of people are paying in developed countries. 2 Likes |

Eriokanmi: Very toff especially to run a factory. I also agree with obtaining the minimum degree and garnering experience in it, except for academia. I'm not saying this to the government of the day. I hate them with ion. They're the reason we're this backward today. Instead of investing in the country they've wilfully destroyed, they're busy investing in Ghana, UAE, Malta, etc. If I say vote them out now, their hungry doggs will attack me as usual. But why are Nigeria's political elite investing outside their dominant environment? If a country's political elite isn't investing in their country, it means something is wrong somewhere. 1 Like 1 Share |

Gerrard59:I build Nigerian made inverters here. Finding patronage or wholesalers is difficult. People rather buy the Chinese products. They frustrate all efforts. Mind you, everything from the research to building the business has been self sponsored. No government or friends or banks anywhere to nature a small dream. I am given a choice to make today between been an electrician or driver in Canada or remaining here in this struggle, I won't remain here obviously |

givedemwotowoto:But we had Yemi Osinbajo and Peter Obi from best universities too. I'm not advocating for illiterates in politics, an average person from best universities made for istration will be ok. Zaccheaus Adelabu is a first ant from OAU, he was part of failed Ajimobi istration in Oyo State. Himself again, with another first class Adebayo Adelabu of CBN are still part of Tinubu istration, and nothing special is coming from their ends to prove their brilliancy. |
