Why do Nigeria like to keep development only in Lagos, porthacourt and Abuja. Other countries develop everywhere in their country.

I asked this question in another thread with no answer so let me ask again. Does umahi land in ebonyi airport now whenever he visits ebonyi?

Armaggedon:
Sick propaganda and outright misinformation. The three airports in Abuja, Lagos and PH have the profit as a result of the monopoly they enjoy as international routes.

Why not back up your article with data such as flight statistics and enger numbers?

If it was all about profit, they should tell us the running cost of Lagos Ibadan railway built by the FG and the profit it has generated.

While Lagos, Abj and PH top enger traffic, the next airports with highest and fastest growing enger numbers according to FAAC are Owerri, Kano, Enugu, Anambra, Benin and Asaba. From the location of these cities you can see that the writer is more bothered about infrastructural development coming to the region he hates rather than a genuine efforts at promoting viability.

Let nigeria be restructured and see those unprofitable airports come back to life it's obvious nigeria's current political structure is definitely affecting economic activities in those states with unprofitable airports.

Anambra never embarked on building a LOCAL airport. Anambra built an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT with the runway and landing facilities to match.
The question is WHY SHOULDN'T ANAMBRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT GET THE NECESSARY FEDERAL APPROVAL TO OPERATE?
You can build whatever airport you want in Nigeria, if the federal government refuses to issue permit for international operation, your airport is forced to operate as a local airport.
IF Dangote trucks are forced to operate in Kano alone, could he be called a wasteful business man for investing in those trucks?
All these deceits are not fooling anyone.

why didn't they get permit first

When Anambra citizens bring international honor and praise for Nigeria, do they first get permit before doing it?
Why didn't Nigeria reject them or disown them, since they didn't get permit to win laurels for Nigeria?
As I write this, Innoson is doing exactly that (winning acclaim for Nigeria ). Allen Onyema is doing the same. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie did the same thing, Chinua Achebe, and MANY MANY MANY other Anambra sons and daughter that achieved things that Nigeria could never in a million years have achieved without them. Why didn't Nigeria reject all their achievements on the basis that they never obtained permit before embarking on their efforts to win laurels for Nigeria?
I have said many times in the religious section that Nigerians use hypocrisy to mask their true evil and wicked tendencies.
This Anambra INTERNATIONAL airport can (and most likely would) become the BEST international airport in Africa if Nigeria sets aside its wickedness for once and realize that the airport will serve ALL Nigerians and not only Anambra citizens.

“On his part, Capt John Okakpu said aside from the Anambra airport, all of the other mentioned airports should be converted to skill acquisition centres or any form of public facility that will be of use to the people.“

Fact

Airport is just one on the list of waste projects type.
Dormant roads, rails, libraries, flyovers and more.

In a situation where it is perfectly possible to clear periodic traffic obstruction by slightly expanding roads, reduce stop spots, or fix potholes to ensure free traffic, they embark on edifices like flyover and overhead bridges. Wasteful.

As I write this, Innoson is doing exactly that (winning acclaim for Nigeria ).

So think he did not get permit to import?

Allen Onyema is doing the same.

You don't see what oyinbo is putting him through in their airport?

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie did the same thing, Chinua Achebe, and MANY MANY MANY other Anambra sons and daughter that achieved things that Nigeria could never in a million years have achieved without them.

What did they do exactly
China Anda was given permit to destroy her country for a mess of visa
You mumu you think she is for you

Why didn't Nigeria reject all their achievements on the basis that they never obtained permit before embarking on their efforts to win laurels for Nigeria?

What do you think a visa is?
Permission to enter their country
Permit

nobody comes to anambra so it won't serve all Nigerians
Go and get permit and stop doing things without doing the needful first

In 2021, the state government said N6b was spent and not $2b as alleged in some quarters.

Also, the immediate past aviation minister, Hadi Sirika, conveyed the approval for the construction of the Ebonyi airport through correspondence to then Governor David Umahi, now Minister of Works. The letter was signed by the Director of Safety and Technical Policy, Capt Talba Alkali, on behalf of the ministry in 2019.

At the commissioning of the airport, Umahi revealed that he spent over N36bn to build the airport, located in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area. But as at the time of filing this report, the airport situation is best described as comatose.

The immediate past ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, expended N16bn public funds on the Akure airport, but the airport has also refused to attract aircraft over its non-viability.

When the governor conceived the idea, it was greeted by criticisms from stakeholders both in the state and beyond but the governor vetoed the cargo airport which is currently not in use.

As of January 2023, the Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management, Niyi Adebayo, revealed that N16.6bn had been spent on the yet-to-be-completed facility in ekiti State.

He explained that the fund was used for perimeter fencing, completion of the runway and taxiway, terminal building, and payment of compensation for the farmers whose farmlands were acquired for the project.

In Jigawa State, ex-governor Sule Lamido, also pumped N4bn to build an airport for the state, one that was commissioned in 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The airport facility is located less than 100km from Aminu Kano International airport, making experts describe it as wasteful spending.

Also, in Bayelsa, former Governor Seriake Dickson spent N70bn on the construction of an airport which began in 2012 and was completed in February 2019.
