(1) Go Down)

Almost every Sunday, people go to church to worship God. Many go prepared and properly dressed. In some of these churches, there are exciting and nice activities that keep excited, but even with the excitements, God is not really there. As you keep attending church, that you are responsible for your soul, and you need to make the right decision on the kind of church you are going to so that you may not damn your soul. Signs You are Attending a Dead or Dying Church. (1) If true Holiness Message and solid doctrine is irritating, boring and unexciting to its . But dancing, jumping, comedy, shouting wooo etc are more preferred to sound doctrine. (2) If seductive and indecent dressing is highly tolerated, and some of the guys in church department plait hair. (3) If are ashamed to hold bible (physical bible) on the road while going to church. (4) If comedians are coming to the pulpit to jest and tell lies to make people laugh. Op you do not understand, if the church implemented strict standards, many will not come to church. And if many do not come to church, that means insufficient tithe and offerings to fund ![]() 27 Likes 3 Shares |

OP, read Psalm 139. Also, check Jeremiah 23:23-24. God's presence is one thing, people recognising and utilising the presence is another thing. Refusal to eat when food is available does not mean famine. Choosing to be naked when the wardrobe is stocked with clothes does not mean lack of clothes. 1. God is everywhere, even in a bar, even where people are committing sins. Some of you think that God discriminates. That is why some of you think that God is not in your homes, and you consequently choose to sleep in the Church every night claiming that that is where you can find God. Even in your classroom, God is there. Even in your shop or office, God is not absent. Even in shrines, God is present. 2. What is the meaning of "omnipresent"? Stop claiming that God is not in some Churches. What you should say is that the majority in a Church may ignorantly or deliberately use certain behaviours (sins) to reject the benefits of God's presence. 3. Church finding holiness message boring does not mean the absence of God. In fact, the message itself is a noticeable evidence of God's presence in the Church. 4. All your points here are invalid. Even if the leader of a Church is a champion of sin, God is still in that Church, at least for the sake of innocent Children in the same Church. cutecommend: 18 Likes 2 Shares |

immortalcrown:Neither Psalm 139 nor Jeremiah 23 says God is everywhere. God will abandon innocent children in a church if the church is not his. That is why you are asked to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. God is not a babysitter. Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he falls. If you walk with goats, you will chop grass. God will not because you are righteous condone your walking with evil. Ask Lot. He lost everything he owned to his decision to live in Sodom. Ojuntana:What is in Psalm 139:7-12,15? What is in Jeremiah 23:24? If you are not a preacher of heresy, explain the quoted verses. The best would have been asking you to explain the whole chapters but let's make it easy for you. |

immortalcrown:Psalm 139: 7-12,15: Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in [c]hell, behold, You are there. 9If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11If I say, “Surely the darkness shall [d]fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12Indeed, the darkness [e]shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. 15My [h]frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Jeremiah 23: 24: Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. Can you explain how any of those two ages mean God is everywhere? Note: In Bible chronology, Psalm 139 is titled as God's perfect knowledge of Man. Jeremiah 23 is talking about God's condemnation of false prophets. 2 Likes |

Ojuntana:God says in Jeremiah 23:24, "Do I not fill the heaven and the earth?". This clearly means that God is everywhere. The psalmist, in the quoted verses of Psalm 139, says that there is no place to hide from God. This clearly means that God is everywhere. The fact that God is speaking to false prophets in that book of Jeremiah does not mean that God is lying about Himself in the same book of Jeremiah. Also, it does not mean that He will change his nature after addressing the false prophets. God, in the process of addressing false prophets in that book of Jeremiah, explains his nature. God is not just everywhere, he fills everywhere. Give your own interpretations if you think I misinterpret those verses. 1 Like |

immortalcrown: You took that phrase out of context. The full verse starts with attempt to hide from God. who attempted to do that? Adam. Now let us go to Adam. If God was everywhere, how did the serpent enter into Eden to deceive Eve and Eve also influenced Adam to disobey God in the presence of God? What that verse is pointing to is that nothing anyone does is hidden from God. God sees and knows everything. To bring it to our level, it is like a man looking at Nigeria from the US through Google's satellite. Does that imply the man is in Nigeria? So when God says do I not fill the earth, it simply means do I not have the ability to fill the earth or do I not subsume the earth or do i not encom the earth? It does not mean God is everywhere Again, I see you have left Psalm 139. There are multiple verses that show that God is not everywhere least of not is the story of the Garden of Eden 2 Likes |

Ojuntana:1. Does the psalmist lie by saying there is no place to hide from God? 2. If God is absent anywhere because of sin, it means that sin is a place to hide from God. The Bible doesn't say there is a place to hide from God. God seeing everything means he is everywhere. 3. If your logic is that God can be absent in a place but see the place, explain how God can be absent in a place but see what happens in the same place. Explain the difference between God being absent in a place but seeing the place and God being in a place. 4. "Do I not fill the earth?" is different from "Do I not have the ability to fill the earth?". Quote me anywhere. "Do I not have the ability to fill the earth?" can be written as "Can I not fill the earth?". This is different from "Do I not fill the earth?". 5. No part of the Bible says that God put Adam and Eve in the garden and went away. God's presence everywhere does not take away our free will. This is why Adam and Eve disobeyed God despite God's presence in the garden. Did Lucifer find where God was absent before going against God? |

immortalcrown:1. No. There is no place to hide from God. 2. Sin can hide God from you. Isaiah 59: 1-2: Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. From the above. It is obvious that sin can separate a man from God such that God will not be able to see the person. 3. God is the Omniscient in Isaiah 46:9-10. He knows everything from beginning to end. The ability of God to know everything even when he is not there is shown in 2 Kings 5:26 when Elisha told Gehazi what he had done even when Elisha was not there. Elisha started the conversation with "Did my spirit not go with you?" Of course Elisha was not there physically and I am sure you will agree that the spirit Elisha was referring to was the Spirit of God. So God knows all things even those things that he is not there when it is happening because his eyes can see through the whole earth as is written in Proverbs 15:3 4. Like I said already. God here is talking about His ability to fill the earth. God is in heaven and the earth is filled with his glory. So that is what it means by he fills the earth. It does not mean God is physically everywhere on earth. 5. Go and read Genesis chapter 3 very well. It is obvious that God was nmot in the garden when the serpent deceived Eve and when Eve influenced Adam. When God came into the garden "in the cool of the day" Adam and Eve were aware of the presence of God immediately which made them hide from Him. If you say God was there all the while that the whole sin was ongoing, that will imply that God was hiding himself from them. But that does not fit into the narrative of the story because at least the serpent would have been aware of God's presence and thus not dare to accuse God of lying. 2 Likes |

Ojuntana:The Isaiah verse you quoted s my point. God's face being hidden from a man does not mean that the same man is hidden from God. Can you deny this? I made it clear in my comment that God's presence is one thing and people benefiting from the God's presence is another thing. That man cannot hide from God means that God's presence is everywhere. God's face being hidden from a man means that such a man cannot benefit from God's presence. This is why many people can be in the same congregation but only a few people or one person will receive a revelation or a miracle. The separation mentioned in the same verse does not mean the absence of God. It means you are not qualified to enjoy the benefits that God's presence offers. I ask you again, differentiate between God seeing a place without being in the place and God being in a place. If you claim that God seeing everywhere is different from God being everywhere, what is the difference? Elisha is not God. Use God himself to show the difference. What can God not do when he is not in a place and only sees the place? |

immortalcrown:No Sir. Isaiah 59:1-2 is a response to Psalms 22: 1-2: My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? 2O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. So it is not possible for the corollary to your point that God is everywhere when the man who asked the question felt God's absence. For him to know when God is absent, He must also have felt His presence previously. Note that same Psalms 22:1 was repeated by Jesus on the Cross when he was laden with the sin of the world. So except you mean God was with him on the cross as against the general exposition that God abandoned and turned away from Him due to the weight of sin He carried, it is clear that Isaiah 59 does not your position. God can see a place because He sees all things and knows all things. I already gave you example of seeing Nigeria from the US through Google's satellite. That is just a microcosm of how God can see all things both near and faraway. Psalm 139 also details God's complete knowledge of man for both good and bad which implies that God does not need to be with you to know what you are doing. In Deuteronomy 33-34, Moses specifically requested for God to go with them in the journey to the Promised land. If God is already everywhere, there will be no need for Moses to ask for God's presence in the journey and for God to reply him thus: "My Presence will go with you". It would have been "I am already everywhere" The difference is the Presence of God. The presence of God brings joy, deliverance, confidence and victory. "If God does not watch the city, the watchers labour in vain" Psalm 127:2 I used the Elisha experience to show you that God can see things even when he is not present there. Read 2 Kings 8: 10-12 to see how God showed Elisha what will happen such that he wept. That is the power of God to know the end from the beginning. 2 Likes |

Ojuntana:If God seeing everywhere is not the same as God being everywhere, then there is a difference between the two. What is that difference? Elisha is not God. Use God himself to show the difference. What can God not do when he is not in a place and only sees the place? It is wrong for you to use Elisha's case as the difference. You are not in the same place with me and cannot see me. But through God's revelation to you, you can see my environment and my actions. This is what happened in the case of Elisha. For Elisha to know what happened where he was absent, he depended on God that is everywhere. If God is not everywhere, who does God depend on to see everywhere? Jesus being forsaken by God means Jesus suffering the pain that God could prevent. It does not mean that God became absent in Jesus or that Jesus became absent in God. Was there ever a time that God and Jesus became absent in each other? That Moses asked God to go with them means they wanted God to give them victory in the journey. It does not mean that God was absent in their lives. Failure in a task does not mean the absence of God. that the Israelites had crossed the sea before Pharaoh got destroyed in the sea. If God left Pharaoh and followed only the Israelites, who located and destroyed Pharaoh in the sea? Or, did Pharaoh also asked God to go with Pharaoh? |
