Few years ago, lecturers were like our small god. We rever them like our parent. You can't even look into thier faces. You genuflect in thier presence. The expulsion was not only because of the assault on the lecturer but the fact that the lady was unapologetic to her action. Even when students were telling her that the man he was heating is a lecturer she refused to let go of him. She even stood her ground because her mum was also a senior lecturer in the school.

It's left for her to appeal the school senate judgement and seek for a suspension or drop a session as punishment.

But regardless her stay in that school is a danger, all lecturers will not hunt her by all means because this is a fight against all.

The uni has just done the same thing, she assaulted a member of staff and she has been refused any further service.

Well, generally speaking, these are two different cases.

If one has evidence of his or her father stealing from the naition's patrimony, that's basically the same kind of crime as the female student assaulting or abusing a lecturer. Both are crimes against constituted authority, and both should be dealt with as the laws permit.

The society is representative of the majority of the people in it --- all the people strongly condemning the lady and strongly justifying the lecturer, except some great leaders show up. Condemning the acts of the lecturer would have been better and disciplining the lady for assault, not this public statement..

Two wrongs do not make a right. If the Lecturer pushed her as she claimed which is a lie from the video we saw there are better ways of addressing the issue. She reacted with insolence. As the man returned and demanded she deleted the video showing his face knowing he is a man that has authority over her as her teacher she should have simply abliged his request to avoid trouble but nay as is the case with this present generation of youths they must prove stubborn and now she has gotten the reward of stubbornness and ill behavior.
Wisdom is profitable to direct and as I always tell people it's not every battle that you are justified to fight that you should fight. At times it's better to walk away and avoid unforseen circumstances.
