I’ve seen scenarios where a car will pop up on my trending on jiji or Facebook marketplace for a lesser price, then I come to nairaland and I’m seeing about 500k added to it: Yet they will tell you commission is fixed |

Sooo many Greedy car dealers/sale boys on Auto section and the cars are mostly Accident cars oo I missed Cosplay and ipfreely Days, there would have been so much Drama on Auto section. Accident cars with ridiculous asking price, Na we Nigerians dy do ourselves. They always blame the Government to cover their own height of Greediness. 1 Like |

That's the hallmark of agents. It must be agents that are advertising the cars. Agents will want to add to/markup the price and take the margin with the consent of the owner who is just interested in selling, and they'll still get their commission on the inflated price.

dawnomike:Even jiji and fb marketplace is starting to become a playground for inflated prices... greedy car dealers have taken over the market with inflated prices and people actually use these inflated Online prices as a yardstick to determine prices of cars.... I'm saying this as an ex employee of jiji. believe me when I tell you prices are highly inflated online.... to really determine the real valuation of a car, you need to be directly connected to the market and valuation experts. Nigerians have become so greedy and everyone is inflating pieces unnecessarily because they see others doing it and successfully scamming uninformed/inexperienced buyers |

The reason is that most of the cars d here are d by greedy middle men and not the main dealers. Those ones would just inflate the price anyhow.
