OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON MMESOMA –THE JAMB GIRL

This public statement has become necessary as many people have been asking about the whereabouts of Mmesoma, especially following recent reports of JAMB result glitches affecting several students from the Southeast.

In 2023, Mmesoma, a young girl living in Anambra State, was accused of tampering with her JAMB result a situation that drew widespread public attention. Like many Nigerians, I found it difficult to believe that such a young girl could be capable of what JAMB alleged. I publicly called for a thorough investigation to ascertain the truth.

Due to the tribal rhetoric and public ridicule that followed the incident and in light of JAMB’s decision to ban her from applying to any Nigerian university for three years
I made a commitment to sponsor her education abroad.

True to my word, I immediately took action. I sent my manager at Voice of the East, Mr. Lottana, to Anambra State to locate Mmesoma and her family. The same day he met them, I bought her a mobile phone, as she didn’t have one at the time. I assured her parents I would adopt her and take full responsibility for her education and welfare.

From that point forward:
•I placed her on a monthly allowance of ₦30,000, which she received on the 1st of every month for over 8 months.
•I sponsored her international port and covered all logistics.
•I ed KB Travels, a verified agency, and applied to over 10 U.S. universities on her behalf.
•Eventually, she got ission to a university in Texas.
•I paid for her U.S. visa application through the Express Option, including accommodation in Lagos and a visa interview coach.
•Unfortunately, she was denied the U.S. visa.
•I immediately paid for a Canadian school application and covered the cost of IELTS. Despite this, Canadian schools did not offer her ission.
•I hired a second agent to pursue European university applications, which sadly led to repeated rejections.

In the meantime, her family began calling me frequently for financial . Out of comion:
•I gave her father over ₦1 million to his struggling music business.
•I also helped her mother through financial difficulties on multiple occasions.
•When the family decided to relocate from Nnewi to their home state of Enugu, I paid for them to find and secure a new home in Topland, Enugu, covering a year’s rent and agency fees totaling over ₦2 million.

Still committed to her progress, I:
•Bought her a laptop and paid someone to teach her coding.
•Encouraged her to learn options trading, gave her startup capital, and bought her another phone.
•She later made over $3,000 in profit from trading, withdrew part of it, and opened a shop for her mother.
•I also paid for another shop for her father in Enugu.

In December 2024, during my first visit to Enugu in nine years, I personally visited their home, spent time with them, and brought gifts. Her parents were deeply appreciative of the visit and the continued .

Everything I have done and continue to do is in good faith, with no expectations other than to help a young girl who had been thrown into a national controversy and to protect her future.

As of our last communication, Mmesoma is doing well and living with her family in Topland, Enugu State. I am sharing this update publicly with ing evidence because, as a public figure, people deserve clarity.

It is surprising to know that the young lady wasn't having phone of her own the period Jamb accused her of influencing her score. They tarnished the young girl name to an extent no university in the world want to have her as their students

She was the first person to speak out about this same glitch, JAMB claimed happened to this year's examination.

She said that the system had a glitch and should be checked. Rather than JAMB to look into what she said, they called her a liar. They manipulated and forced her to accept that confession.

They forced her into agreeing that she manipulated her result 😢, so as to cover up their lapses and incompetencies.

Or she was disappointed with her result knowing that she could have done better, if not for the glitch. What happens to the girl that committed suicide due to poor performance? Will JAMB compensate her parents?

At this point, I am more likely to believe Mmesoma than a body that found it convenient to ruin the chances of almost 400,000 Nigerian youths than own up to their mistakes.
