And one thing you must understand too is that there is no money to be made from a high cost location. It means everyone will be buying goods and services very costly. In other words, no money to save at the end!

Lets stop deceiving ourselves. All of them are the same thing. Your 250k in Lagos is the same with 80k in Niger state. You will struggle to make both the 250k and 80k and still complain both are high!

Again, "No difference!"

One thing you must understand is there is no money to be made from a cheap location. It means everybody there is literally poor.

Except up own money remotely.

No where can you manage a hundred thousand naira in state capital in Nigeria except you are still dreaming. Go to Chibok in Karina or where ever.

What of keffi

Keffi is good but expensive because it's a student area.
You fit try, Nasarawa ToTo or Even Obi.

But my take here, Houses are cheap in Gidan Zakara, ANGWA Tofa, Uke both Upper and Lower.
There are good schools (PRIVATE) if you don't want to Attend GSS.
Food is cheap too.
For those wey like night life, you can come through In Keffi, which not more than 20 minutes drive.
Or you go to Jennabis in Kuchikau

Come over to Onitsha and thank me later
Onitsha is cheaper than lagos and many cities that have been mentioned here, I relocated from lagos to Onitsha and believe me things are way more cheaper than when I was in lagos, struggling to get everything at exorbitant prices.

I stayed at ikirun in Osun state near the capital Oshogbo accomodation and feeding was cheap, light was very regular almost 24 hrs. I used hot plate to cook all through. in of electricity they finish work. I have also lived in uyo and I can tell you that there are no jobs in uyo, only the high brow areas have up to 12 hrs light e.g ewet housing and my brother their rent are in millions. the rural areas no get light, they are adverse to non indigenes and quite local.

Hi, I need some help figuring out something I’ve been contemplating.

Due to some financial difficulties, I have to relocate and I’m looking for a place in Nigeria that’s very affordable in of rent and general cost of living. One of my top priorities is reliable electricity and good network connectivity, as these are essential for my work and daily life.

My budget is quite limited—less than ₦100,000—so affordability is crucial.

So far, the options I’m considering include:

Osogbo, Osun State

Uyo, Akwa Ibom

Gboko, Benue State

Abakaliki, Ebonyi State

If you have any suggestions, insights, or recommendations about these places—or anywhere else that might fit my criteria—I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks so much for your help!

While you include Abakaliki, please be informed that it is not a cheap place to live, especially considering high cost of rent.
However, constant electricity, good road network and good communication network (depending on where you live and network provider) are things you can enjoy.

Anyways, if the poorest of the poor can survive in Abakaliki, you definitely will with about 100k.

But there is no difference in what you are saying. You are quite right sha, but 250k in lagos is the same with 80k in Niger state(northern places). So nothing like earning higher in lagos, because that same higher is still what Niger state people earn, but cost of living gives the amount a difference, but they earn and spend the same thing!

I know you will not understand thoroughly sha.
Anyways, thanks for your time.

I understand you my man. You just helped me explain my point; I didn't even put examples.

If you work in Jabi, Maitama or Wuse, minimum you'll ask for even as a cleaner is 50-80k. And they might pay... But you'll discover someone working in Gwagwalada and earning 40k will achieve more with their salary than you that earn 80k in the same Abuja. Transport will take 60k from you, while Gwags person might not even pay transport in a month to go to work

Suleja, Kaduna Road, Madalla and Gauraka, hmm! He can only get a single room with that amount. Some self contain goes for upto 300k, while minimum is 150k
Do you know fruit market in Dakwa and the one in Zuba? I come there to buy fruits and they are very cheap as they sell wholesale.

Also, protein is very very cheap at the DeiDei livestock market. Ask around and don't assume. There are self con of 80k in Abuja (Zauda, Gwagwa, Jibi, Jiwa etc). These are slum environments but thousands of people live and enter the city center from these places. Once again, I say don't assume, move around.

The points you raised are different from his.
He's ruling out Gboko because of insecurity, while you're ruling it in as a place to relocate to.
Una no dey read to understand at all
Gboko is safe. He only indicated the OP did not make any reference to security and you started thinking to the moon and back. Who told you Gboko is unsafe to start with. So you assume everywhere in Benue state is under siege? It is your type that think all parts of Nigeria you have never been to are on fire. You cooked up your interpretation to what he said! Stop overthinking.

But you still left the dead zone to go stay in Lagos cool
Lagos belongs to every Yoruba same way anambara belongs to every Ibo.

Everyone has its own so y should u b worried about how others handle their own?

You can relocate to Eteo or Nowa in Rivers state. Note: Eteo or Nowa are towards the end part of Eleme LGA and the beginning of Tai LGA respectively, both communities share boundary, much steady power supply, most times been paid by the LGA chairmen(low cost power supply) good Internet network, smooth road connectivity to the city center, affordable house rent, relatively cheap food supply due to the proximity with Ogoni and Akwa-Ibom axis. Don't mind what some people are saying here, there are some places we can live with low budget and still feel the city vibes due the proximity with the city center....

Do you stay in any of these places

Do you work remotely or got a job paying in dollars, and now you want to relocate to a place where your money stretches like suya on a hot grill of
MANNABBQGRlLLS.

Taraba State is one of the most affordable states to live in, with cheap housing, food, and a low cost of living.
Also, Kogi, and Bauchi are among the cheapest states.

.....and This is official.

Water accessibility and availability?
The areas?

grin But you were recently deported back to your state from Lagos

And today, there was a thread about the Lagos state authorities finding you migrants from Ogun and Oyo a menacing nuisance, which means the final deportation of your remnants is in the pipeline.

Don't go to Ebonyi. house rent alone will usurp you dry.
Living in Ebonyi comes with high cost.

if you want southern region, go to Abia state(Aba) or Rivers state(remote areas) or if region is not specific, go to the north, all norther state, will offer you a safe haven with that budget except that you have to cover your head from banditry and terrorists.
rivers and asaba which is better? For cheaper accomodations and running a business.
