Some gigs in the ERP are requesting for ICAN certification

Okay.

Like Raumdeuter suggested , go for ACCA instead of ICAN because of its international appeal .

Factoring in age and cost, he is better off doing ICAN

He can complete all ICAN for less than N300k while ACCA will cost him just shy of £2k all in (N4m). This is assuming first time es for both and no tuition classes, just exam fee and maybe the reading papers

ICAN Is also ICAEW so you can get ACA from an ICAN without much stress. ACA is more prestigious than ACCA supposedly. You can also go from ICAN to ACCA with just a handful of exams so it is more cost effective to do ICAN first even if you want to land at ACCA, you can save maybe N2.5m doing ICAN first then converting to ACCA later. If you need a degree along the way, that's when you take ACCA because exams 1-9 qualify you for Oxford Brookes BSc in ing by just adding a 5,000 word thesis on top. But iamoyindamola already has degree so he doesn't need it from ACCA

I think its even more like £3k all in

You have 9 exams at £80 roughly plus 5 exams at £140 or so, plus one big cost at the end when they assess your work experience and such (maybe like £300-£400). On top of this you'll have one Ethics module or something like that for another £80. So all the above is like £1.8k

Then while all of this is going on, you'll be paying £150 yearly hip fee (assume 3 years so £450) plus original registration fee of maybe £50 or so. So that's another £500 ontop of your £1.8k making £2.3k.

This is not assuming any retakes or short notice booking of exams which triples the price.

That's before buying any reading materials which you can get from Nigerian vendors for low cost (like N10-N20k per exam x 14 exams)

I think you'll wrap.all this up in ICAN for N300k. ICAN used to be N50k per DIET x 3 DIETS

You are right with ACCA being expensive compared to ICAN.

I wasn’t looking at it from the cost angle sha . I thought he would be willing to pay whatever it will cost to get the charter ni.

That was why I asked him if he just wanted the designation to be added to his name or he intended to get job with it .

https://nairaland.sitesunblocked.org/8435375/questions-over-port-harcourt-refinery

Obasanjo said this refinery would not work and should be disposed of. APC governments pump billions of dollars into revamp of the refinery and even insulted OBJ over his position on the workability of the refineries which is actually based on experts' opinion . NNPC even mockingly invited him to come and see the refinery "working".

Fast forward to 6 months they are shutting down same refinery for "maintenance".

Na wa o. There is utter lack of transparency ; money just keeps getting pumped into the refineries without any visible result.

I think they need to swallow their pride and sell off the refineries to private investors once and for all.

“Nigeria will not spend ‘dime’ to establish a national carrier—Keyamo
The minister said the government is open to receiving proposals from private or public entities within and outside the country for such purposes.

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has affirmed that the federal government will not be reinvesting in the contentious national carrier, Nigeria Air, which was suspended shortly after its launch by the previous istration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Minister disclosed this in a statement shared on his X page (formerly Twitter) on Sunday in response to an article published by the Vanguard newspaper.

The article detailed the address Mr Keyamo delivered in Lagos on Friday during the launch of a book titled “100 Years of Civil Aviation in Nigeria: History, Issues and Prospects,” authored by Wole Shadare.

He explained that rather than investing in the national carrier, the government is open to receiving proposals from private or public entities within and outside the country for such purposes.”

I completely agree with Keyamo on this! It’s wasteful for any federal government to spend money to set up and/or run an airline. Even the likes of Emirates and Etihad, which are technically government-owned corporations, are privately run, with the government having no say in their operations.

I can an initiative by the current Nigerian airlines to form a holding company that would birth a national carrier, where all the domestic airlines would hold equal equity, and other institutional and private individuals hold the remaining equity.
This new national airline would only operate international routes, while the local airlines, under their individual identities, would then ply the local routes.
I believe such an arrangement would be more profitable for the domestic airline industry, than having Air Peace, Ibom Air et al all wanting to go international without adequate financial resources to truly compete with even Ethiopian Airlines.

How many years is it taking FG to complete Lagos-Ibadan Expressway?!

Note: Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is just 127.6km and Jonathan flagged off reconstruction in July 2013.

Let me also correct the lie, coz that's how una go dey spread am like butter on a slice bread upandan. Coastal Road Construction began in March 2024, its less down 2 years.
