A Nigerian man who once secured a prestigious fully funded scholarship to study in Norway has recently been deported and is now surviving by packing waste for residents, earning just ₦4,000 daily as he struggles to rebuild his life back home.

This unfortunate turn of events was revealed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @PH_Socials, which included videos of the man narrating his personal journey — from the heights of studying abroad on scholarship to his current difficult circumstances in Nigeria.

The man explained that after arriving in Norway, where he initially aimed to focus on his education, he gradually fell into bad company. He mingled with individuals involved in substance abuse, which led him down a dark path.

He itted that he got involved in transporting drugs, moving narcotics from Norway to Italy. At first, some of his compatriots even praised him for this illicit activity, unaware of the consequences that awaited him.

However, his illegal actions soon caught the attention of the Norwegian authorities. He was arrested and subsequently deported for drug trafficking offenses, which effectively ended his scholarship and dreams of a better future abroad.

In a follow-up video shared by @PH_Socials, the man disclosed that he now survives by packing and disposing of waste for local residents in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, earning a daily wage of ₦4,000. Despite the hardships, he expressed hope for a fresh start and the possibility of securing a government job to improve his circumstances.

He recounted his story, saying:

“I went to Norway through scholarship. I met some UK people smoking white crystal and marijuana. One Bayelsa man told me to start moving drugs.”

“I moved the first drop from Norway to Italy, and during the second one, the Bayelsa people in Norway were celebrating me. Not long after, I was convicted. They said Nigerians are bringing drugs into their country. I was expelled and sent back to Bayelsa.”

“Now, I throw away people’s dirty every morning. They pay me ₦4,000 daily. I’m hoping for a government job.”

This story serves as a cautionary tale about how choices can dramatically change the course of one’s life, especially when given rare opportunities abroad.

Read again. He didn't accompany anyone but rather he said, he was convinced by a Nigerian he met in Norway to start moving drugs from Norway to Italy which he did successfully the first time but got caught later on.

Village people eeh

That's not an issue of village people. It's merely §tupidity and greed. Village people effect is when someone is doing the right thing and ends up badly... There's a big difference.

Tell me why someone on scholarship, being paid to study, would decide to move with drug dealers, use drugs and even end up working as a drug mule in Europe? Which highness him dey find? Which money him dey find?

Some opportunities only come once in a lifetime, if you miss it, you've missed it for life.

If you wan destroy your life, Follow boys from Port Harcourt, Benin, Lagos and Anambra especially those wey dey form say them sabi street, and when them begin hype you up.

Normally them don form crew wey their job na to use new arrivals to do all sort of illegal things while hyping you as lord and chairman until them arrest you. If you call them sef, them all no go pick. So many lives have been wasted by people who follow these boys thinking they will become the next Cubana Cheif priest. Go to prison and see how many of the them are there.

Keep your children away from these people at all cost ooo. Unless una live already bad sotay even prison better am, then in that case, risk no really dey and some of una better to dey inside prison sef them to dey out dey torment people

I detest adults who cannot take responsibility for their actions, misjudgments and lack of discretion.

Which one is "one Bayelsa man", "some Bayelsans in Norway"................

Oga, did anyone force you to push drugs?

Were you compelled to follow their advise?

You were on a fully funded scholarship, so what exactly pushed you into drug pushing except greed?

Precise, thief still dey your eyes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with 4k daily. That is N120k monthly TAX-FREE.

A law abiding entry-level Master degree holder in civil service (Core Federal Ministry GL 09 step 02) curently takes home around 140k+ after tax, suffice to say you earn same as a BSc holder in the Federal Ministry. So what is wrong with your daily 4k as a deportee and why do you deserve a Federal appointment?

No judgment here. Rebuild your life with the bricks of integrity and honour. Future is still bright. And future scholarship holders or international travelers take note.

It was his greed that put him in his present predicament. He had a full scholarship and wanted to be rich at all cost when he should have focused on his studies. Glad he has something he is doing art the moment. I wish him better luck in the future.

This is not village people as said by someone up there. This is pure Stupidity and problems he created by himself. A once in a life time opportunity lost can't forever be regained. Had he focused on what took him to Norway, he would have probably been a resident now enjoying his hard work and resilience, rather he decided to take the part of destruction and he is back to where he belongs! Trash! Packing waste! Enjoy ur job ojare Oga. Definitely, this kind of opportunity wouldn't locate u again for ever, and if it does, it would have been too late.
