It will interest you to know that Chelsea won their first Europa league (UEFA Cup winners Cup) against Real Madrid in 1971.

They also won their first Super cup against Real Madrid in 1998.

Barca got knocked out by Frankfurt and United and in both occasions, they came from the UCL. Both Barca and Madrid never went to this new Europa straight from La liga and the reason why i said they MIGHT never play in those leagues ever again is because, with the new rule, once you are out of the UCL, you are going back straight home, no more relegating to the Europa League as was the case earlier before now. Peace
