Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has claimed that school fees abroad are more expensive than what is obtainable in Nigeria.

The Minister said this during a session on Channels Television on Thursday while highlighting the impact of some of the policies of the Tinubu istration.

Fielding questions from young Nigerians, the minister urged them to always do their research and not to follow trends.

According to him, by making the students loan possible through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, President Bola Tinubu has shown that he was focused on the future.

He said, “But I want to put it straight that most of the time…, we’re all young people. I’m also a young person. Maybe we have a millennium. We have a Gen Z, and the Alpha Gen Z, I think we should, most times, make our research than following trend.

“Sometimes trend may not work for us. You would have made your research. This is the first time the President is thinking about the future. And if a president comes out and says he, as a President, does not want any student to go out of school because you are not able to pay the school fees, I think it’s a plus for the student.

“And for any president to think like that, you know that the President is looking at the future, how, because the same President is working out, the same government is working out to make sure that after you leave school, you get a job, and when you get a job, you can be able to pay back.

Most of these countries that you will japa to, that’s the same thing they do, even their school fees is more expensive.

So those who can afford should not go? Why are the political leadership and elites stealing Nigerian money to educate their children abroad after destroying the educational system back home?

Meanwhile, what are the prospect of securing jobs for those who schooled back home in order to be productive? No sane person would leave his country if the govt is responsible and able with working institutions. This govt and its dull lackeys should be ashame of itself.

Abeg who did Nigerians offend to be subjected to daily insults of its sensibility by these dimwits in govt?

They have wrecked financial havoc in Nigeria but they don't want people to travel abroad. Yet they keep travelling abroad and send their children to school overseas.

He said the President is 'thinking about the future' but the same President and his cronies are embezzling the future with reckless abandon, preparing for 2027 when they have done nothing to show for their time in power.

These APC people are really a curse on Nigeria.

Reason why you should be more bothered that despite so, people could leave their country of birth for another.
Imagine someone selling spoilt bread for #100, and another person is selling the same bread that's fresh and healthy for consumption for #200, which will you go for?

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this istration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.
