Let's see how it goes during Afcon and WC qualifiers
I think we should just forget about that world cup qualifiers so that our hope won't be dashed because our position on the table isn't encouraging. But it miracle happens, Thank God.
With the right players picked and with Chelle style or play, we can do very well at the next Afcon

I met Benjamin Frederick in 2022 in Ilorin playing for ABS though an academy player from Simon Moses academy managed by his wife Bunmi....I told my brother an agent that my fear for this boy is spending more than two years in Nigeria league but good just after a year from ABS to Nasarawa he moved to Brentford through Simon academy.

Sodiq issue is lacking basic things about the game, meaning something is missing in our coaching structures.

Congratulations to Moses Simon for discovering Benjamin Frederick and he was the captain when his boy made his debut

Yes it's me.

A Iwobi in chuks position yesterday, i dare say will never take on that Jamaican let alone score that goal. cool
i disagree, Iwobi has score goals similar to the one Chuks scored for his club.

Yeah, sodiq is badly coached. Typical npfl player. Crude talent but badly coached.
I'm asking can sodiq play as a winger. Maybe he can come in and give assista and goals if we need a goal but he will be a winger.
If sodiq hoes to Europe they might convert him to a wide forward or wide midfielder. If not he will need 6 months of intensive coaching in the academy of a good European club.
That is the problem of npfl players. They need 3 to 6 months of good coaching to take the bad coaching of playing in the npfl away from them

I already clarified before that Finidi was 100% right with the bolded statement.

Either way, I have no doubt that with time, Finidi would have made us phenomenal. Our quest for immediate results hampers growth of coaches. I hope Chelle gets quality time.

Formation is not the most important that wins games but the interpretation by the players. No matter the formation or tactics put on ground, if the players don't understand and interpret their roles, the formation won't succeed. So understanding roles and interpreting it is more important than formation.

This is one of the smartest tactical things I ever heard and it came from Finidi George. Increased my respect for him as a tactician.
Ogbeni you are contradicting yourself. Formation is not important but the interpretation, what are the players interpreting (formation). How a team attack or defend as a group is what we refer to as formation. So my dear goodjoe, Finidi was wrong and you are also wrong.

I think is all about reading the game,he lacks it...I saw a 13 years old boy who was slow but at the end he was picked as the best RB in a youth tournament...the boy played like a professional,he read the game very well, time to attack and to defend.....just check out Festus Agu and Benjamin Frederick you see that teaching of the basics in their games.

The 2025 CAF Player of the Year decider will arguably be the hardest in the history of the award πŸ₯Ά

β€’ Mohammed Salah-35 goals, 1 trophy
β€’ Achraf Hakimi-9 goals, 3 trophies
β€’ Victor Osimhen-37 goals, 2 trophies

Fingers crossed🀞πŸ”₯

Give it to Hakimi and it will be well deserved.
Imagine a defender scoring 9 goals and topping it with a UCL trophy πŸ†. What else does he need to do to win it?

Not at all, it's well deserved. Don't forget he was also instrumental in eliminating Salah Liverpool from the UCL that he won. And without doubt he is also currently the best right back in the world

I just did my analysis on the Russian National Team...

1. We've not played them before.
2. They are ranked 35th in the world.
3. They are a very attacking minded side, that ball wey Γ‰ric Chelle wan dey play, na exactly him dem dey play. Press you from 1–90 minutes. They can miss 13 big chances and still score you 7 if you snooze. πŸ˜‚
4. They are very pacy, technical and physical... They can score crazy goals, even from outside the box.
5. They can play from anywhere, midfield or wings.
6. They are on an 11 games unbeaten streak and an 8 games winning streak (scoring 48 and conceding 3 in this unbeaten run).
7. They have scored 28 goals in their last 5 games without conceding even once. πŸ˜‚
8. The last time they lost a home game was on June 21, 2021 (my birthday btw 😏)
9. Russia against African opponents:

10 games played, 6 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss
🟒 They've beaten Ghana, Morocco, Egypt, Zambia and Cameroon(x2).
βšͺ They've drawn with Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Kenya.
πŸ”΄ They've lost only to Ivory Coast.

Without most of our Starting XI players in the squad plus their home advantage, they have a slight edge over us.

This is a very good test for Γ‰ric Chelle and the Super Eagles. If we draw this match, we try. If we win, we've done brilliantly well and it will show that we're moving forward, if we lose, we'll build from there anyways. But this is a good test for us! πŸ”₯

be realistic about the team. Aside Osimhen who else can propel them to victory
If we sort our defensive & creative issues, I think we can win
Im just not confident in all the defenders we have
I wish Adarabioyo had declared already for us
Coach should drop Ndidi & play Onyeka as DM, Ndidi doesn’t have 90 minutes intensity anymore. He can always come on for Onyeka
Uche should play box to box or move to AM role if Iwobi gets substituted for Onyekachi
He should start Iwobi as AM & bring in Bashiru in the second half
Coach needs to caution whoever would play in the right wing and right midfield, they need to help Aina at the right back
I think Bruno starts ahead of Agu based on athleticism
Maybe they switch between 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 in the game.
I think Chukwueze can play free role better than Lookman, so Chukwueze can sometimes drift in the middle
Lookman is so used to Italian league style 3-4-3
I doubt if he’d severely trouble the opposition if we play 4-3-3. I hope we score first & in the first half. If we can play with intensity and score 2 goals in the first half, the last quarter should be time wasting and managing the game properly
I think if coach gets his defense personnels correctly as well as energetic midfielders. We will get 6 points in September
I wish super Eagles good luck
Im not confident we have the right defenders though
Im now confident we have a solid midfield and strike force
Coach should take out the players who don’t show individual brilliance in the team.
Individual brilliance, pace, physical power is what we can rely on since the South Africans have team chemistry checked
Iheanacho shouldn’t be called for September games, he’s not lethal, crafty and quick anymore
All coach needs to do in our midfield is take out Papa Daniel and bring back Iwobi post friendlies

35? They've been banned since like 2 years now. Does FIFA still counts their friendlies in their rankings?

Some comments here are baffling. Same Sodiq Ismail that was to be signed by an Albanian club this January. The Albanian club pulled out of the deal saying Sodiq is suffering from β€œCardiac Insufficiency β€œ which is the polite way of saying he don old. Make Sodiq focus on his Career and forget SE.

I saw the talk about Chelle benching Iwobi and Playing Chuks at #10. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but a single game is not enough to come into this conclusion.

From the Chuks highlight posted up there, Chuks didn't just find himself at #10, he was given FREEDOM to roam. Something similar to how Enrique set up his team.

He did play well but saying Chuks should play midfield henceforth will be going overboard. Iwobi has his faults but one thing about him I ire is his football intelligence.
