Out of the over 300 tribes in Nigeria, only one tribe has issues with her statement.

She did not even mention a tribe name but only them came for her, to the extent of even sending threats to her WhatsApp.

Una too mụ..mu...

Yorubas started it on twitter of which Davido replied the tribalist, now your uncultured lecturer came online to spew rubbish because of the deep hatred y'all have for Igbo's..

The lady didn't mention igbos but may have insinuated it but whatever the case its her choice and even tho generally disappointing doesn't require the outrageous threats she's getting and this is the problem I have with the way certain people overreact and tribal hate comments.

You can see how petty the Faceless Group is.
They called out the Ibos for orchestrating the attack on the woman, that wasn't enough, they have found a way to link Obidient Movement to their naked dance and finally Obi has been mentioned. That's exactly what they want to achieve!
Take it or leave it, Yorubas are very clannish in all their dealings.
Follow them at your own peril.

I will ensure my children marry Yoruba, anyone who doesn't like it can jump into the lagoon. What is wrong with people these days?
Did anyone make a fuss about Davido claiming to have Ibo blood?
Did anyone make a fuss about Davidi claiming to have Igbo blood?
Lol, I bet you don't see the irony in that?
This very thread is, because some big..oted Yoruba woman had a problem with it.

She got triggered by Davido saying he has Igbo blood?
She doubled down to make an ethnic issue out of it.
And now when some people had issues with it she's the victim?
What EXACTLY is her business with Davido having Igbo blood?

Why should other tribes have issue with her statement, when her comments weren't triggered by someone saying they have their blood?
If no be her ethnic jingoism, what's her business with Davido's blood?

Read this:

The controversy began on Wednesday, May 21, when Dr. Olarinmoye reacted to Afrobeat singer Davido’s comments about his Igbo ancestry by writing on her Facebook page: "I would ensure my kids marry Yoruba."

Out of the 371 tribes you claim are in Nigeria, Davido said he came from the Igbo tribe as his mother happens to come from Anambra state and that was when the razz lecturer ed that her children must marry only Yoruba, what does that mean? It's a direct attack on the tribe Davido identified with, stop pretending or twisting facts.

You know why she said that but as usual, you guys are very good at pretence and treachery.

And listen, she making sure her children marry only Yoruba is her choice but coming online on a post where a famous music star identified with his mother's tribe to say such thing makes that woman a very despicable human being, it was an obvious attack on Igbo tribe Davido identified with, so whatever criticisms she got she fully deserved it
And it's unthinkable, and incredible how a reasonable and sound human can book space here and be defending such annoying woman.

You have a problem with a Yoruba woman who didn't even mention Ibo in her post. But I bet you suddenly lose your voice whenever an Anambra man refuses to marry someone because she's from Ebonyi. Isn't that hypocrisy.
It is like leaving the your own eyes to talk about the speck is someone else's eyes.

So you know Davido's mother more than Davido know her mother? shocked

Davido confirmed it himself, before I also thought the mom was from Edo.

Davido even said her mom advised her to always be close her people if he wants to go far in life.

I hope you also know that Davido's paternal grandmother is Igbo from Enugu state?

Davido's mom is Edo
Her names were victoria Imade
She was kemi olunloyo's friend
Aunty Kemi too confirmed it

With approximately 371 tribes in Nigeria, only a tribe triggered cheesy Na by force to marry outsider ni?

They are golddiggers only looking for free money and fame. It is the liberality of the YORUBAS that causes all this nonsense.

Several years ago (during the military era) as a student at a University in IBO land, a lady, a co-student told me her parent will never allow her to marry an outsider. She told me sorrowfully.

Her name is ADAKU, I can never forget that name. Later, I was made to understand that first daughter don't marry outsider according to their tradition. Coincidentally, the lady (Adaku's friend) who told me first daughter don't marry outsider according to their tradition later married a personal friend of mine who is a Muslim from Niger State. We have less than 6% of the total population from the North and they are mainly from Kwara and Benue.

Some ladies said the family of the other lady agreed because my friend is a young Alhaji, her father is the MD of a popular juicy Federal Government agency in Lagos and after NYSC my friend is relocating abroad, which means the lady on completion of her degree is going abroad with him. No Yoruba family gives out their daughters because of wealth.

Outsiders marry into dynasties in Yoruba land. We have seen people marrying into ABODERIN family inheriting billions for their children. We have seen several marriages from outside Yoruba land into dynasties in Yoruba land. My sister is a victim. You can never find a YORUBA male or female marrying into their wealthy families or dynasties.

Unfortunately for her, as well as for most of those commenting here either for or against, while she is free to have her preferences, her children when they are of marriageable age will be adults and make their own choices which might not align with her preferences. The kind of petty things we focus on in this country is baffling.

No, it is not a petty issue.

It is a recurrent phenomenon that should be dealt with now before it snowball to greater ethnic conflagration.

How does making sure her children marrying from her tribe equalled to attack on Igbos.

Marriage should be bases on mutual interests and if the interests of both parties are opposite, then it is better to avoid each than entering into potential marital and by extension cultural chaos.

The lecturer called for what is happening to her... Sh knows the trend if the Davido topic is about a fan frowning at davido for marrying and association with igbos... So davido shut the fan up by saying he is Igbo by blood..

Now this woman reed the argument and now claim it's an innocent statement.. see, u dnt go to the north and do religious argument in the public garage.. if u are christian except u want to die...

Sh know the atmosphere is already tensed and waded in in condemnation big davido... ND still expecting those ing davido to keep quiet .. abeg sh deserve and called for what sh got

1) The lecturer, never reed anything

2) She has a right to write anything on her FACEBOOK page
3) Making sure her children marry from her tribe is NOT an attack on Igbo

4) Anyone bullying her and threatening her should be arrested

5) Conservative Yoruba organisations should step up campaigns to protect Yoruba interests ,including long term cultural interests.

You are speaking from both sides of the mouth. All these fuss is because of Davido claiming to have Igbo blood. That's exactly what triggered all these nonsense. Ask the woman why Davido's ancestry and marriage should bother her and the so called whatever group?

If someone as educated as these lecturer should have this kind of mentality, I wonder how people out there in the streets would think and act. We Africans are seriously in need of God's intervention.

Both the woman and the Igbo guys that replied her are just petty.

Why all these unnecesary tribal fight?

You want all your children to marry yoruba, and so who asked you?. Why not keep it to yourself instead of generating division and trouble with it undecided

The ones replying her are jobless as well

When hasn't become a crime for Yoruba to express their desires for Yoruba spouses publicly?

This is the critical issue - The attempts by over zealous Igbo ,especially in the Obidients Movement, to silence or denigrate anything Yoruba.

This should be resisted and those bullying her be arrested and charged to court.
