This is just nonsense, refund for what? Were you forced to apply for visa? Were you forced to submit fake document(which is common with average Nigerian) Were you forced to overstayed you visa and in most cases try to claim asylum?

South Africans had never had any history of overstaying in Ireland ....but from 2023 till 2024 we started having a lot of visa rejections. And the Irish government even ed the SA government raising concerns over the high number of SA asylum seekers in their country. When the SA government got involved it turned out that not even one of these people was an actual SA....not even a dam*ed one of them. BBC even made a documentary about this ; interviewing the culprits who were from nations like Nigeria, Zim,Congo etc.

So yes you're partly right. But there are other explanations as to why one country could move from less applicants and rejections to suddenly rising to the top very fast. It's not always about the citizens needing to escape . In the case of SA it's clearly a systematic decay with our home Affairs where corrupt citizens conspire with foreigners to get them our ports to travel with after destroying theirs. Not that we are saints but there's no craze of emigrating here .

Also ; insufficient funds are another reason for visa rejections. No country wants a potential burden on their systems ; especially Healthcare for the tourists. If you can't prove that you could take care of your health bills ( incase of accidents) then you should be rejected .

So again. It's not always people rushing to escape their countries. But I can understand why you as a Nigerian would rush to that conclusion .

Let’s even agree with your imaginary claims, so if your people find it intriguing to visit these SANER countries abroad, what does that tell you about your own country? My friend, there’s a reason why countries like the Netherlands, SINGAPORE (esp) and Luxembourg have the least emigration rates in the world, it’s simply because, any country that is doing well, its citizens just naturally don’t fancy emigrating for whatever reasons (Travels, visits, vacations, studies or tourism) because they have them all.

I wish there could be a campaign encouraging people to stop applying for visas for six months. Let’s see what impact that has perhaps it would shake the system a bit and make them feel the loss of the daily revenue they collect, while still denying applicants for unjustified reasons.

These countries should start refunding at least 50% of the applicant's money....Or even the whole money...they would be receiving applications knowing fully well that they would reject the applicant. I believe it is wrong.

My guess is that it is somewhere around 384k and from my research, Italy, Poland and Sweden have the highest applications since they all lack all those crucial social amenities being enjoyed by South Africans😂
