Tinubu’s plan is to harmonize the southern votes and compete very well in the north; if the opposition fields a northern candidate, they will help him do just that.

Like I said, the opposition has the massive structures to sell any southerner in the north, but they don't have the structures to sell a northerner in the south as of today.

They must be very careful.

Nigerians are blind enough to not ask for what a politician would do to them If he win the election. What they're after is from which part of the country is he from? Since the 7 point agenda I don't know on what basis these people used to won elections.

Atiku's selfishness will never allow him submit to a southern candidate.
Also Obi's who is a game spoiler will rather divide votes so Tinubu could win

I OBJECT TO AL THIS TALK OF SOUTHERN CANDIDATE.

THE MAIN IDEA BEHIND GEOPOLITICS IS INCLUSIVITY.

WHEN POWER CAME SOUTH, IT WAS SUPPOSE TO GO EAST.

SINCE EMILOKAN HIJACK POWER VIA STATE CAPTURE, IT RUBBISHES THE IDEA OF GEOPOLITICS.

WE ALREADY HAVE A SOUTHERN PRESIDENT, THE NORTH IS IN ORDER TO CHALLENGE HIM FOR POWER, TWO IS NOT AN ENTIITLEMENT.

I won't lie, if the new coalition fields Mr. Peter Obi, Jagaban shouldn't bother to run.

But I know that man from Dubai no go gree, and would help Tinubu mess it all up for them 😂😂😂

So Jagaban can go to bed and sleep like a baby, cos once again 2027 issa goal!

A picture of Atiku and Obi is attached to this tweet.

Tosin Olugbenga @TosinOlugbenga

Scooping from different reactions, opinions and others POVs, this ticket will not even be able to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

The general sentiment is that the presidency should remain in the South, even if Peter Obi agrees to be VP to Atiku, it will most likely be a failed ticket.

The only way to remove APC from power is for Atiku and his northern alliance to the candidacy of Peter Obi.

Atiku can say goodbye to his presidential ambitions.

Imran U. Wakili (PULLO) @IU_Wakili

Hello, sir, As the opposition, we’ve got to agree to come together and back whoever ends up as our candidate. We all have our favorites, and sure, we each think our pick is the one to beat Tinubu. But if we’re splintered, arguing over who’s best, we’re just shooting ourselves in the foot. Unity is our strength here, we need to agree to the candidate who emerges, period.

The Atiku/Obi ticket is easiest way to unseat that’s without a doubt, it is the “EASIEST” way but not the “ONLY” way, as some people would like to portray it and here is why, The Atiku/Obi will sweep the North 100%, no question. Plus, Obi no matter how unpopular he got after accepting to be AA’s VP, will give enough pull in the South to give us a solid shot at winning, but I’m not convinced it’s the slam-dunk we need governance wise.

First off, Atiku’s age is a big red flag for me. The guy’s 81. I mean, come on, can he really handle the grind of running Nigeria? It’s a tough job, and we can’t just brush it off with “Oh, we need his brain, not his body” or “He’s not here to wrestle.” We’ve heard that before, and I’m not buying it again. Nigerians deserve someone who’s got the energy to lead, not just the experience. Atiku’s a heavyweight, no doubt, but age matters.

Then there’s this whole zoning thing. I’m ready to ditch it, but I don’t want a Northerner to be the one to break that tradition. For me It’d be better if a Southerner steps up, does a solid eight years, and shows the country that Northerners don’t care where the president comes from, We just want someone who gets Nigeria’s mess and can fix it. A leader who understands our challenges, from security to the economy, and actually does something about them.

Now, what about a ticket like Obi with a strong Northern running mate? That could work, too both in governing well and taking on Tinubu. But it’s not a sure thing. The Northerner paired with Obi has to be a heavy hitter, someone with real clout and grassroots up North.

Also, Obi’s not there yet in of Northern acceptability. Without a big name like Atiku or another Northern powerhouse backing him, and without a massive, all-in campaign, it’s going to be a slog to win those voters over. It’s doable, but it’ll take serious work—tons of energy, resources, and time, and we will be heavily banking on Tinubu to continue mes, which I know he will.

So yeah, Atiku/Obi sounds stronger on paper, but we’ve got to think hard about Atiku’s age and what it means for leadership. And if we’re looking at Obi with a Northern running mate, we need to be strategic about who that is and how we make it stick.

Whatever we do, we can’t afford to be divided, we’ve got to rally behind one candidate and give it everything we’ve got.

Tosin Olugbenga is an Obidient.

He started out by referencing a coalition poster of Atiku and Obi. The photo of Atiku is larger than the photo of Obi.

Tosin Olugbenga said that that will never work and he gave his reasons why it will never work. He said that Peter Obi needs to be the presidential candidate with a strong northerner ing him.

Tosin also quoted a well known politician and then he said that what worked in 2023 won't work in 2027. He said that Yusuf Datti cannot be the running mate to Peter Obi. He said that they need a strong northerner.

Imran Wakili is a fanatical er of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai

Imran quoted Tosin's post and said that Atiku would be a bad pick for the presidency, mainly because he is too old. He went on and on about the demerits of Atiku.

The interesting thing is that both of them did not say who their candidate is, but everybody knows what they are doing.

Is that what you people tell yourselves in the Southwest now? Elrufai didn't fail when he galvanised northerners against naira crunch and made them give an unpopular Tinubu 5.6m votes. He's now the devil because he has taken his business elsewhere? I hope Tinubu has a contingency plan in the South to make up for the Northern votes he would lose?

This was a man who couldn't even win his own Southern region. "Winning" only Rivers state in the Southsouth, 4 out of 6 states in Yorubaland and none at all in the Southeast. The North made Tinubu president. A 3-horse race in 2027 would be a disadvantage to Tinubu, unlike in 2023 because Obi would split Southern votes while Tinubu will struggle to replicate his Northern numbers.

Tinubu is now using a combination of money and coercion to force opponents to him, and he thinks it's sustainable. Case studies, Kano state and the Emirates debacle with the FG interfering in a purely local government affair, declaration of state of emergency in Rivers until Fubara succumbs, withholding of local government funds in Osun until Adeleke capitulates, EFCC hounding Yahaya Bello and then backing off after he "pledges" . Same as Okowa, destroying all opposition parties through sponsored sabotage. The list goes on and on.

Despite all of these, the majority of the Nigerian people will speak clearly through their ballots in 2027. You can't buy love neither can you copy respect.

The funny thing about the coalition is no matter how you strategize it, Tinubu will still win.

You cant propose Northern as president when it is the turn of the south, while the leading Southern candidates (Amachi and Obi) dont have political or social structures across the North.

But I must it that it is good for democracy and the aligning for the 2031 elections.
