Nigeria's Defence Chief, General Christopher Musa, has ignited a major debate by proposing a complete fence along Nigeria's borders with Cameroon, Niger, Chad, and Benin to combat escalating insecurity and the influx of armed groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP. Citing examples like Pakistan's fence with Afghanistan, he argues this is critical for Nigeria's survival and sovereignty. In this video, we break down this unprecedented proposal, analyzing the reasons behind it, the immense potential costs, logistical challenges, socio-economic impacts, and whether this controversial measure can truly solve Nigeria's deep-rooted security crisis. Is fencing the nation a viable strategy or a sign of desperation?

If it solves the problem and Nigeria can afford it why not?
It may very well be our best option. We need peace.

Fantastic idea.

Why not?

The Benin Empire built a massive wall 500 years ago to protect itself from Arab jihadists, and it worked.

So will this new wall.

This is a wonderful idea! If it checkmates the terrorism from neighbouring countries then why not?

I would have preferred this to the construction of the coastal road. Deal with insecurity and see how fast the country will develop generally. The amount insecurity is gulping in Nigeria both from individuals and government is much

Hope you saw men there guarding and watching over the fence?
You think your Nigerian border protection officers who don't care what is happening at the borders now that they're unfenced will suddenly start monitoring them when they're finally fenced?
You don't know that the fence can be breached or climbed if there are no guards monitoring it?
You guys are so gullible!

If this is not another Tinubu's bulaba propaganda of lies and deceit, then it is a very commendable project.

But unfortunately, everything about Tinubu and his APC is lies lies, deceit and propaganda.

Where is CNG policy as alternative to petrol? Failed and forgotten

Where is State Police? Dumped somewhere because Tinubu is scared that Governors will use it against his failed 2027 reelection daydream.

Where is credit scheme policy? Forgotten like others?

Where is Forest Guards?

Where is Ministry of Cow abi Cattle?

Tinubu thinks running a country is by waking up from sleep to make announcement and go back to sleep

He said subsidy is gone but he is still paying some petrol subsidy through the backdoor.

Believe Tinubu and his bulaba policies at your own peril

The military should focus more on flushing out its fifth columnists.

This is the dumbest idea I've heard in my life. This clown went to NDA? Is this the rubbish NDA graduates? You want to fence a country? Donald Trump tried it in his first term but backed off. It was too expensive.

Nigeria cannot and doesn't have the money to fence its borders. The 15 trillion naira budgeted for the coastal road will be peanuts compared to the costs of fencing its border.

There is nothing that will be used as fencing material that a determined person can't breach. This idea is very stupid and I'm ashamed this is what the CDS can think of.

What will stop terrorists from other countries is when Nigeria possesses a strong deterrence in its military capabilities. Fear is the only thing that can keep them away. You will never read that the mexican cartel encroaches on US territory because they know that hell will be waiting for them.

There are several parts of US-Mexico border that are fenced. The idea is brilliant but Nigeria cannot afford it. Escobar and his goons will use it to loot the country dry like the yeye coastal road.

That a country is actually proposing this in 2025 shows that very unserious people have been getting away with nonsense for so long.
The scary part is that the same unserious people will not let this plan see the light of day
