If not for dangote, the marketers could have claims it's not possible to sell Petrol below #1000 . Thank you dangote
Vice versa

Great. This is how it is supposed to be. Competition like this will further bring down the pump price of PMS and in effect transportation costs.

Infact, I just saw a picture now where a fueling station is offering 1pack of spag to customers who buy 30litres and above.

You are 100% correct, by now fuel would have been selling for 1,500. They would have remind us the value of dollar as justification for their crazy price.

What are you saying... How do you separate Dangote and the marketers from market forces? Are you sure you yourself understand what you wrote up there?

Oil marketers and Dangote's pricing decisions are driven by market realities such as global crude oil prices, forex rates, supply and demand, naira for crude-oil policy of the government as well as deregulation of the oil and gas sector. These are the market for forces that have helped to put the excesses of the market stakeholders( marketers and dangote) in check.
Deregulation of the oil sector ensure that pricing is no longer subject to government regulations but instead has helped to enhance market forces functionality through increasing competition, availability of the product, promoting efficiency and hence potentially reducing fuel prices.

If only one more individual like Dangote will build another refinery as big as or even bigger Dangote's own, fuel prices will crash to N500 naira

Nigerians are very gullible people.

You have the crude, you have the refineries why on earth should you buy fuel above 500 naira?

If not for corruption and docile Nigerians and their inability to hold political leaders to ability.
See them, celebrating fuel above 800 naira.

Shame on all of you!

Are you minding them.

Fuel that is supposed to be sold between N400 and N500 at Max, No matter the situation of the Country and Opec.

They are just ripping off the masses.

Rilwayne001:

You said 500. That's less than $1.

Did you think about:
Cost of extracting crude
Cost of refining
Cost of transporting
cost etc

Before you submitted your assumption ?
Most of them are semi-Illiterates, they are out of tune with market realities.

It has nothing to do with both dangote and the marketers but because of the regulatory framework of the government has introduced into the oil and sector to usher in free market system. Market forces are doing wonderful work here, putting everyone on their toes.

Yet the government can't supply dangote crude .
rapheal5(m): 11:07am On Jun 05
All those werey shouting subsidy is gone for good, doesn’t it mean during Buari and Jonathan regime NNPC were not making profit and does it mean FG was paying x4 of the amount we bought fuel then as subsidy..
With removal of subsidy we shouldn’t be buying fuel above 500 naira, y’all defender of iniquities come and defend it..

What is the reason for Naira - crude oil policy by the government?
dederocs(m): 11:11am On Jun 05
Lower prices is good for Nigerians. Am sure Dangote will bring his price down too. Marketers, Dangote don't be greedy, you now but crude in naira. Your profit margins are too high.

.

to save FX , and streghten the naira , make the fuel cheaper as the dollar component will have limited impact ..etc.

the government is repeatedly failing to do this , even the article says dangote is buying crude from america
Druss(m): 11:13am On Jun 05
Just 5 naira and they are saying 'slash'. Drop that thing by 100 naira before using slash.

With this one I am maintains use of Dangote fuel. I still don't trust NNPC fuel.
torqque7(m): 11:20am On Jun 05
Rubbish yeye evil people..so you guys could reduce the price all along but choose to suffer Nigerians until Dangote fvkced you over.

If not for Tinubu that allow free market.

If FG has subscribed to banning of importation as wished by dangle.Dangote will sell at 2k and you will not have any option

They will always look for away to avoid giving BAT FG the neccessary kudos.

Probably because the pastors have poisoned their mind against the government.

The will heap praises on wike, bosun,Umahi, keyamo, etc but will tactically avoid BAT.

Omo grin grin...there must be an action for reaction to take place. What dictate the reactions of the marketers and dangote are majorly market realities.

The price war has begun.
I thought that the independent marketers say price can not go below N1000
The price war in Shakespeare when secret subsidy on imported petrol provided by crude collateralized dollar loans is at work.
