This guy should stop disturbing us. At your age, you had the rare opportunity to leave an indelible mark in the EFCC, but you couldn't do any significant thing. What a shame!
He was not allowed by the powers that were in government...

Then, he should have resigned honourable, but he waited until he was booted out/ replaced, just like Others before him!
It was also in the News of some deals in his time that could not go through which he was at the Centre.
But kudos to him for writing out a Book on -what he knows about the Fraudulent Subsidies, especially the NNPC Roles and their terrible Subsidies then.Hope he Captures it in his Book.
But,why is it the same Corruption they were placed to fight, that eventually got rid of them?
Something is wrong with our System.

where is the money from the fuel SUBSIDY removal.
The same people that occupied Nigeria when President Jonathan removed the subsidy & increase the fuel price to 145 Naira have done same & increase it to 850- 950 Naira & people like you & Soyinka have gone mute.

Ask your governor and your elected lawmakers both at state and federal levels.

Secondly, nobody increased the price to the figure you quoted, market forces did. If you don't like it, apply for license to import fuel and sell at N145 per litre, nobody will arrest you. In fact, you will sell out within 24 hours and become a multi millionaire overnight.

Yes very true. The corruption is systemic. It is embedded in the system, from the top to the bottom. He is not perfect that i must it but to reveal such gangrenous and egregious corrupt acts with facts and being a lead investigator goes to show his aim in further exposing the nature and method of how our resources are stolen brazenly without conscience. And the common market woman and man who sweats everyday to eat is left there to suffer while a few human beings steam millions as if it was groundnuts...na wa for Naija oh...

Imagine over 900million in one of the heists...what would they do with all the money? And dont forget he rightly said that the corruption was carried out with the approval of civil servants...some are still in the service u till now. They wont mind spending some millions out of their loot to kill or assassinate him...its that bad really...

I think this was how Ifeanyi Uba accumulated so much wealth.

Everyday, we see that the attempt to remove subsidy in 2012 was the right decision.

I am no er of GEJ, he allowed corruption ruin his regime, and drive off ers, and his handling of the boko crisis was bad...but the subsidy removal was the right decision. Too bad Buhari (who appointed Bawa) and tinubu and company and millions of Nigerians said no, NIgerians are poor...

Thomas Sowell said this about Nigerians, that we are short termist in thinking. This is why most NIgerians decided to oppose GEJ on subsidy removal, because most of them only think short term. Not long term.

Talking about fraud and corruption in Nigeria is like talking about sand in the Sahara or ice in the arctic.

Today, the cabals that benefited from this huge fraud are running around forming coalition to unseat the man that dare to remove their cashcow. And some unpatriotic fellows are hailing them.

Stop being disingenuous. The removal of subsidy is not why coalitions are being formed to unseat him, but rather the poor governance and hardship being experienced. His rivals at the time also ran on removing fuel subsidy. It is the manner in which he implemented the policy that was faulted. His critics are asking that since subsidy has been removed, where is the money going and why is the impact not being felt in the economy? Amaechi has asked those questions.

You are very right.

It was their duty to vet documents and claims.
But because they are collaborators, they gave a mark after ticking all the boxes.

Apologize:
I came to the conclusion about 2 years into my assignment that Nigeria is probably the only genuinely classless society I have seen. Class is very different from wealth. Upper class people can be dirt poor (and lower class people can be fabulously rich). Class is about behaviour and attitudes, not wealth (a point made very well in Kate Foxโ€™s excellent book Watching the English). And insofar as behaviour goes, I didnโ€™t see a shred of difference between the top politicians, down through the officials in the national authorities, through the middle class professionals, through the service providers, right down to the area boys. The behaviour was identical across all strata: I want more money, and I will do absolutely anything to get it. If you were to replace the politicians โ€“ letโ€™s say our 109 senators from before โ€“ with 109 random people from the Nigerian citizenry, you would get no change in behaviour. You could repeat the experiment a thousand times, and you would get no change. There is no ruling class in Nigeria, there is just a set of rulers. Where any change is expected to come from I donโ€™t know. -Tim newman
This is succinct.
