THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has promised to cancel the controversial Lekki-Epe tollgate, if elected into office.

Speaking during an interactive session with the Muslim community in Lagos yesterday, Agbaje hinged his plan to cancel the Lekki-Epe tollgate on the fact that the tollgate is untenable, as it is standing on an existing road.

The PDP governorship candidate however, disclosed that the tool on the Lekki Phase 1 inner bridge would remain, in view of the fact that the construction of the bridge started from scratch by the concessionaire company.

Agbaje, who was accompanied by his Deputy, Alhaja Safurat Abdulkareem, commended Governor Babatunde Fashola for some of the successes recorded in the state but he averred that Lagos was in urgent need of change and not continuity.

He also assured his Muslim hosts, who included the National Missioner of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheik Abdurahman Ahmad, that the problem of allowing Muslim children to wear the hijab veil to school would be solved through a synergy between the state and the mosque.

Meanwhile, former Governor of Lagos State and National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the incumbent governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola yesterday urged Lagosians to be wary of the activities of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) so as not to associate with “failure”.

The duo who spoke at the flag-off of the Lagos APC campaign rally which took place at Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church Open Ground, GRA, Ikeja likened PDP to a political Ebola, saying associating with them will bring nothing good for Lagos and the country in general.

The party leaders took turn to lambast the Federal Government and PDP for poor leadership, saying the nation’s economy has gone from bad to worse since Jonathan came to power.

In the same vein, the APC national leader also accused PDP gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje of impatience, saying his impatience has led him to a dead end.

I personally love agbaje for being a straight forward fellow. But he was misquoted by the press on the "Nigerian Economic" issue. Though he may have his own bad sides, but I really think he is the right candidate cos Ambode Akin-Ti'nlo Akinwunmi will only serve as a figure head for Tinubu. That man has Siphoned lagos state and lagosians pockets for too long. Please let's do it right, let power change hands. Agbaje as far as I know defeated Fashola in the 2007 debate. And Ambode Akin-Ti'nlo Akinwumi Ewamaalo served for 27 years in the lagos civil service, but he was sacked for mismanagement the last time I heard. All in all #iBelieveInAgbaje.

Agbaje is only coming to Undo/"Ctrl+Z" every progress that APC -led Government has made 1999. He has no plan for Lagos other than to govern Lagos the same way other PDP states are ruled... eg Ekiti , Akwa Ibom, Benue, Kogi etc.

Stop spreading false rumors Ambode retired to go and prepare for his campaign. He has a letter of commendation from Fashola himself which dates back to when he retired with Fashola commending him for his incredible service to Lagos, you can take a look at the letter on his Facebook page and website. Tell us you man's qualification if he has any instead of trying to pull another man down. truth is Agbaje has no achievements to speak off, he knows nothing about governance and has nothing to offer Lagos.

This foolish man is damn dangerous and should be rejected outright!

He should have said he will review the the tolling of that road. But the foolish learner will make reckless statements only to find that the reality of governance is different and extremely restrictive. He should be asked how he intends to replace the lost revenue and continue with the contractual financial obligations pertaining to the concession.

No room for this learner in our state, such emotionality may work in one of our eastern states.
