It's more of his poor linkup play. Ibra doesn't press yet Pep loved him until the little Messi got jealous and demanded for the striker role and as a result, Ibra got pushed wide. Messi doesn't press much also but his linkup play is one of the best.

On the other hand, Aguero's linkup play and vision are quite average for Pep's kind of striker and what's more, he's not as lethal in front of goal as he used to be.

Unless you want to go and sign Idrissa Gueye, you can see that most midfielders tackle less than Matic.

If Wanyama come to Chelsea, he would still tackle less than Matic because everytime Wanyama tackles, they give him yellow card.

It is those small players like Kante and Idrissa that launch themselves into tackles. If a big guy like Wanyama or Matic slide tackle you, he can break your leg and referees wont favour it. They have the strength and body size to shade you off the ball without needing to tackle.

That's why I don't like discussing yeye stats like tackling.

Anyway, I don't see why the 3 players (Fab, Matic, Kante) can't play at the same time. It would give you more control and creativity in the midfield.

Not necessarily. It could also limit our ability to spread play in attack as this means we switch to a 3-5-2 from a 3-4-3. We won't won't use the wings as effectively as we do now and our Wing backs will need to do more work than they do now, which could also lead to defensive frailty.

One of the forwards is still likely to drop deep to initiate the attack and I guess that would be Hazard. It's not like the likes of Hazard, Pedro/Willians are predominantly on the wings per se.. They are always roaming as second strikers/forwards while one drop off into the midfield to initiate the attack.. Moreover, Fab is a good goal scorer and can help to contribute in the goal department as well as creativity.

Conte is doing very well no doubt. But He needs to understand that the combo of matic and Kante will always render us more defensive than attacking against top teams. This technically makes our forwards like hazard and Costa do less in the game but in the defence. We need Fabregas against big teams so that we can stamp our confidence in the game by being possessive of the ball and not win by 'luck'or 'shear tactics'.

By the way, . .chelsea should help arsenal find their way home (fourth) today.

Pedro's intelligent runs will be very useful today especially vs Monreal.

I'm very worried about Walcott attacking our left flank though. That guy's off the ball movement is just filthy. I can't the exact match now, but it was this season. He played a one two with I think Sanchez, but instead of running outside he did one diagonal run inside his marker. He didnt get the return pads but that was the day I started to fear walcott. That run deserved a goal.

It's no surprise that the guy has been netting recently. His speed and clever movement get him into fantastic scoring positions. Suwegbes like Alonso and Cahill need to stay very alert to that danger.
