Why is this a topic? There was an election in 2023. People who got the opportunity to serve as still struggling to make a significant impact since they took over. Why this conservation about 2027? Why do Nigerians like politics more than development?

Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and lead defense lawyer is now representing Nnamdi Kanu? That's huge.

Well, Ejimakor may be right about Agabi being angry, but Agabi understands the system more than he does and knows that social media rants may undermine his odds of winning the case.

@Penguin2

Clearing your debts helps to build Investors' confidence in your country and keep attracting them because no man is an island.

In other words, when investors know that you don't owe any lending agencies, they will be happy to invest in your country as the government won't introduce new policies to tax investors just to clear or service their debt.

When investors bring their businesses to a country, they create jobs for the jobless people, which will improve GDP and reduce crime rate. This the single most important reason why it's a good thing for countries not to owe anyone.

Don't forget that you learnt this from me, SmartPolician

KillahPriest is saying a different thing. We don't know the difference between British English and American English, and that's a fact. The difference between the two goes beyond spellings and accent.

In fact, the way an American structures his grammatical syntax isn't the same way as the Brits. For instance, a British says, What's the time? Americans don't speak that even though they understand it. Instead, they say, What time is it? But for us Nigerians, English is English.

Angel Gabriel.

If they give you common LGA chairmanship now, you will turn to oga pata pata, and nobody will see you on Nairaland again.

You are all angels until you see money.

That's a fact. Most Nigerians pretend to be nice because they don't have the opportunity yet. Nobody truly knows themselves until they taste money and power. Those two can easily bring out the best or worst in people - the same traits they never knew they had.

You underestimate the gravity of Nigeria's problems.

If you closely observe what Athena Centre does with election results, you will know they are compelling INEC and the judiciary to always do the right thing. The moment INEC becomes transparent and independent, nothing can stop Nigeria's greatness. The only problem is that we don't know when INEC will attain those.

@Ifedayo_Johnson, you aren't making a good deal here. If you have a better English proficiency test score, he will pay you £20k in damages done to Nigeria's image for saying that we cannot speak and write excellent English.

These British folks don't know that most educated Nigerians don't joke with English. In fact, we funnily use English to test people's level of intelligence.

Oshiomhole needs to calm. After all, Mr Abati didn't ask him to say in 2019 that if you APC, all your sins are forgiven.

How can a senator challenge a journalist (people who spend all their lives enlightening others) to a public debate?

What can typically move a Nigerian again? The same country that has a former drug lord as its president and nobody has a problem with that?

What can the eye see to cry blood? Mr. Abure, please go ahead and expose anyone you want to expose. Peter Obi is not a saint, but he's much better than these evil men running this country today.

The foolishness of most Nigerians is unparalleled. What makes you think that your politicians are any better than others from other regions of the country? I dare you to mention your state or region so we can analyse it.

You had better jettison this useless "our politicians are better than yours" syndrome. The earlier you realise that's it's political class versus the masses, the better for you.

Sowore doesn't work for Tinubu. He wants everyone to behave like a thug the way he does.

He's angry that Peter Obi doesn't flow with Tinubu's and Buhari's styles of street protests so that when trigger-happy security operatives kill young people he and fuuulish Reno will blame PO for their killings.

I don't blame the man though. You cannot keep including Kwara in your monolithic north and get angry because Tinubu is giving his tribesmen from Kwara juicy positions and tagging them northerners. Nigeria is a hypocritical country grin

The new Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has publicly expressed his roots in northern Nigeria, noting his surprise at some reactions following his recent appointment.

Speaking to the press, Ojulari clarified his roots from northern Nigerian, stating, “I was surprised when people said I was not from the North. I am a child of the North, and I come from Ilorin. I was brought up in Kaduna State. I started learning Yoruba when I was 15 years old. When I left Kaduna, I went to Zaria to study, so I am a northerner(northern Nigerian).”

He appealed for the and prayers of citizens across the nation, particularly those from the northern region, in his efforts to advance both the region and the country as a whole.

“I need the of the North to do this work well and bring development to the North and the whole of Nigeria. I need everyone’s prayer as this work is not what one person can do. We need to work together to ensure Nigeria’s progress,” Ojulari emphasized.

Addressing the recent reports of a strained relationship between NNPCL and the Dangote Group, the new CEO indicated that steps are being taken to reconcile any existing differences.

“Dangote has made significant contributions, which deserve commendation,” he acknowledged.

“We’ve held talks to resolve the conflict. Going forward, we’ll collaborate to ensure consistent fuel supply for Nigerians.”

He assured the public that future disagreements would be resolved through dialogue, stating, “You won’t hear of any more clashes between NNPCL and Dangote Refinery. We’ll work together for Nigeria’s benefit.”

Ojulari also commented on the recent decline in global crude oil prices and its potential impact on Nigeria’s revenue projections.

However, he assured that NNPCL is actively working on reducing operational costs to optimize earnings from oil and gas sales in light of the price drop.

Responding to public concerns regarding the delayed reflection of lower global crude oil prices in local fuel costs, Ojulari clarified the dynamics involved.

“If [dealers] bought fuel at a higher price before the drop, they’ll need to sell at that old rate. But with new purchases at lower prices, we expect local prices to eventually reflect the change,” he stated, indicating an eventual adjustment in local pump prices.

Sowore, everyone must not employ thuggery in their opposition. You want him to drag young people to the streets so that trigger-happy security operatives will kill them and their blood will be on his hands? No way!

Peter Obi is a fine gentleman that's why he's popular among enlightened and educated middle-class. Everyone cannot be mad at the same time.

The Enugu State Government has announced plans to build Nigeria’s longest canopy walkway and its first full-scale zipline as part of efforts to boost tourism and attract visitors to the South-East.Local events

The projects are key components of the state’s eco-tourism development strategy and will be implemented in phases starting this year.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Ugochi Madueke, announced the plans after the weekend’s Executive Council meeting, according to a statement by the Governor’s media aide, Dan Nwomeh.

According to Madueke, the investments are aimed at showcasing Enugu’s natural beauty while offering visitors unique and memorable experiences. The 600-metre canopy walkway will be constructed at the Nsude Pyramid site, making it the longest in the country when completed.

The 300-metre zipline will be installed at Ngwo Pine Forest, positioning Enugu as the first state in Nigeria to offer a full-scale zipline tourism attraction.Local events.

“We are going to have it in phases. For the first phase, we are having Awhum Waterfall, Nsude Pyramid, where we are going to have the first canopy walkway in the Southeast. It measures about 600 metres, which will actually be the longest in Nigeria.

“We also have Ngwo Pine Forest, where we are having the first zipline in Nigeria. The zipline will measure about 300 metres,” Madueke was quoted as saying.

Other sites earmarked for development include Awhum Waterfall, where plans are underway to build an additional canopy walkway and boardwalk, enhancing the experience while preserving the surrounding ecosystem.Local events.

The statement further revealed that the government intends to construct the Cross of Hope at Okpatu, a monumental structure perched 580 meters above sea level, with the cross itself towering 50 meters high. The building will feature 15 floors, equipped with a lift, and will reach a total height of 630 meters above sea level.

In addition, Dame Madueke outlined several significant projects, including the Akwuke/Atakkwu Waterpark and the Ovu Lake Golf and Resort at Akpawfu. Each of these developments will feature dedicated experience centers, food courts, and renewable energy infrastructure, ensuring sustainability and promoting tourism.

Furthermore, the statement revealed that the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Lloyd Ekweremadu, announced the completion of a Youth Animation Lab, which is set to be officially commissioned, aiming to bolster digital skills among young people.

On August 12, in celebration of International Youth Day, the state will empower over 2,100 trained youths, equipping them with valuable skills for the future, the statement also disclosed.
