Traffic is the weapon fashioned against efficiency avoid it at all cost.
While you're waiting for trips an even before you accept a trip check the traffic situation and make a mental note of where you can and can't go

I am always laughing when people here respond to comments from APC fanboys about how Nigeria is good.

Nobody can gaslight me.

After you praise Tinubu on NL and X, and worship him for repaying an IMF loan, you'll drop your phone and go and face reality

You'll buy fuel at 880 or 1040 for diesel
You'll buy brake disc at 55k
You'll buy shocks at 50k

These things do not respond to cho cho cho.

When you praise Tinubu finish, go and face your life alone.

I don't even bother with them.

I am not sure those people still hold that opinion now. For this Tinubu economy, even if u see where they dash u 5k daily, man go anchor there o. 140k weekly is huge mehn!!!

It's almost like free money or basically not paying commission. It also allows me take some liberties and take things easy. Why I go de leave money fo table??

I ed on the new website possop.gov, ed required docs and information. After 72 hrs I got an sms to come for biometric capture at obalende.

I received an sms later that night that I’ve been approved, and i went to the portal to it. Yes i have the certificate!!!

Thanks.

Lastly abeg...
Did you have to appear in person for the biometrics after you got the SMS?
Did you pay any additional monies besides the 14k? Seeing some folks say they had to pay between 20 and 50k extra.

Ragtag Browser, if anybody thought I was lying at least your WhatsApp group is useful today to give us a tabular representation of the figures to buttress my points.

Thank you for the job well done.
Next time u try to compare Lagos with other States, that Lagos makes X10 what those States are making and should never be compared. If u must compare Lagos, do so with the likes of Joburg, Cairo, etc and not Anambra as ur low IQ always pushes u to do.

Proof of ownership now requires annual renewal
Tint permit 14k to be renewed annually
Cyber security fee on every bank transaction... The list goes on. Of course IGR will go up.

Sorry boss, i misunderstood your post. I thought you mean the should be in the car with him while he works.

The truth is that everything a newbie needs to learn have been discussed in these thread before. So my advice to any newbie is to go back and read the thread from 2020 or better still search for what the need to know on the search bar. Much respect baba.

You are doing well. Consider using a hands-on approach to mentor newbies in the house. What I mean is, having them ride along with you for a week or 2 to get hands-on experience. You can even charge for it and make it a part of your revenue.

Weldone!

Hmmmm... I never hear that one before o. Rider's that refuse to enter when I tell them they booked Uber share?? I'm very positive it won't fly with Uber riders.

Besides there's nothing I'm doing that I haven't said here. The A-Z of succeeding in the hustle has been posted here over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again by different people. Veterans are here, they've shared all the tips in the book for anyone to at least have a sound foundation to begin to build on.
If the newbie can't go back and read the last 500 to 1000 pages e neva ready

Uber with low fares, high commission, fewer request.

And they're all scams. When Uber mean to scam you of your hard earned bonus, they'll not look back.

The work is depressing

I don't know how much you wished the job paid but I guess Our realities are different. I
easily average 250k weekly NET driving on Uber alone. Nothing depressing about that
If I drive on bolt I'll probably do the same.

The destination shows, but if u don't know d area u are going to, better sit in ur house. The least u can have is a complete address. U can't just say I am going to 5 Isaac John street. There is Isaac John Street in Fadeyi, Yaba and there is Isaac John in Ikeja GRA.
There is Bode Thomas in Illupeju and Bode Thomas in Surulere.
There is Molade Okoya Thomas in VI and Ikeja
And so on and so forth.

Riders can be oblivious and not check the area, as they are typing the street name they can click the first suggestion that pops up and it might not be where they actually want to go. So if a driver is going by only what he sees on d app, he may be misguided. This happens many times.

What security are u protecting from ur potential driver by not telling him ur destination when he asks. This doesn't make any sense.

Another reason I prefer Uber. Destination shows to the precise house number and building or shop name where available. Bolt destination can be ambiguous. Sometimes you'll see Ikeja, when you start trip na mangoro the person de go.
Uber just works.
For the newbies if you can, on Uber. The onboarding may be more stringent and they charge a higher commission but for your peace of mind Uber is the best app to begin with.

Sorry about your ordeal, it's one of the things we see in the hustle. Also stop driving into people's compound it's not advisable. I hope you are safe now and i hope the also paid you. to report the ride

Word. Block of flats or tenement buildings, maybe but Private residences are a complete NO. Unless you have load, elderly or disability.

When I started this hustle on rental in 2018 my rent was 35k and I paid that money every single week with ease without ever defaulting. Monday to Wednesday was for making my rent, the rest of the week belonged to me to do as I pleased.

At that time it was absurd to me that people on 25k were still defaulting and I came to the conclusion that even given 10k some drivers will still tell stories. However many drivers here were even pushing for lower rent and vilifying car owners.

Here we are, some are car owners now and the table has turned. It's the seed that was sown that's blooming now. I omoapena's exchange with his previous landlord here not too long ago where he painted the man like a vampire. Now he can't relate to some of his own TnCs being questioned. It's a lesson in perspective being taught early on a Friday morning.

Drivers asking for 35k in 2025, 6 years after. It is beyond laughable.

Meanwhile the wife had an early morning flight to catch today. Ride estimate said 15+ drivers were still negotiating for a higher fee. At past 5 the trip to the airport was 30+ minutes. A driver thinks that making net of 6 to 7k for a 30 something minutes trip before 6am is not enough. Na the greed wey we de talk be that.

Hmm... How is Uber registration like? Bolt, I went to their office to . InDrive, everything was done online.

By the way, that screenshot is from InDrive app, not Uber.

Been meaning to write this for a while now.
If you or anyone is serious about getting into this hustle, go back and read the last 500 pages of thread or just before May 29 2023. Or better still read from the beginning for some historical perspective.

Take it as reading a self help book or some business book. There is no question you have that hasn't been hammered left right and centre from all possible perspectives you may think of. It is a repository of all the information regarding the hustle with contributions from rental drivers, owner-drivers and landlords. All your questions have been asked and answered robustly.

When these questions pop up I deliberately ignore them because I feel very strongly that newbies read first before asking questions. Unless it's not that important to the person in which case, no need for me to also expend energy throwing any light on your enquiry.

Now, let me share some things about this cameras with you guys,
1) The cameras are not on all spots on the bridge, so atimes you may go as high a 100km/h and not get booked, if you look slightly up, you may notice the cameras where they are placed, but i dont do above 75km/h cause of marginal errors.

2) There is need to understand the difference between mph and km/h, usually most recent odometers, the miles per hour is boldly written while km/h has a smaller text. pls shine your eyes and dont mistake mph for km/h. na oyo you dey

3) sometimes the calibration of your odometer may be a liitle wrong, i have noticed that my car speedometer differs for what the maps says, so follow your car odometer with caution.

4) be careful not to focus too much on the speedometer, look up, only glance slightly at your odometer.

If you have changed your tyres beyond the manufacturer's spec for your car it's very likely that the calibration has been thrown off by some degree.

The flood that will damage an EV will certainly damage a combustion engine. Bring another excuse.

People like to talk. Only here would someone imagine that EV manufacturers are not aware water and electrical components shouldn't mix. They'll be beating their chests while talking sh!t.

Electric vehicles (EVs) can be damaged by flooding, and they can catch fire if submerged. It's best to avoid driving through floodwaters, and to move EVs to higher ground if flooding is expected

Battery damage
Water can damage battery cells, which can lead to short circuits or reduced performance.

Electrical damage
Water can damage wiring, connectors, and control units, which can cause malfunctions and corrosion.

Fire
Prolonged or deep immersion in water can lead to thermal runaway, which is an uncontrollable increase in temperature that can cause a fire.

What did you say again?

Ok.

Is the $7k the entire landing cost? Can anyone confirm if truly EVs are exempt from Custom Import Duties?
