If the governor has candidate, he should have invited the king makers and reach compromise with them.
Whether the king makers receive money or not is nobody's business after all Seyi Makinde himself knows how much he spent before he became governor.
King installation happens ones in a while sometimes 50 years interval. So charging money is not a crime. It is their office.
You are clearly a corrupt person, meanwhile you spend majority of your time here defending government upandan, no wonder.

PressMyButton: The President has reintroduced history in schools and made it compulsory, so shall we talk history?.
The irony is that those people who struck FIRST without any provocation are the ones crying to be the victims today.
Is this confirmed? That would be a fantastic move if indeed he has.

They have made something useful out of their lives. You on the other hand are constantly singing Yoruba this and that on almost every thread (just look at your post history). When will your own name too be celebrated for an achievement or do those other people have 2 heads? It's 2025, yet you have refused to leave this childish behaviour.

Learn from this.
You can never go wrong from being a grateful and thankful person. It's imbibed in some cultures. Infact, where I come from, if someone gives you something, you thank the person. The following day, you will still thank the person for the gift he gave you yesterday.
Doors will always be open for anyone full of gratitude. Let's learn not to take things for granted.
Well said.
That's one thing I love about the Yoruba culture, the gratitude imbibed in it, such as still thanking the following day for a previous day's kindness.

concho:
His tale doth intrigue me in its detail, for it speaketh of one who encountered the favor of fortune in the blackest of nights, yet allowed her to slip from his grasp as though she were but a fleeting shadow.
It bringeth to mind mine own tale of Abuchi, the man who promised to marry my sister. To me, it seemed as though the goddess of good fortune had smiled upon me and laid her gentle blessings at my feet. Yet, I knew not that this potential gifts were but fleeting, like a morning mist that vanisheth before the rising sun.
I had not known Abuchi dwelt within our neighborhood until fate revealed him. It began one evening as I saw him speak with my sister, their conversation flowing freely under the cover of night, for my father was away on duty. As their discourse unfolded, Abuchi beckoned me to his side and pressed into my palm two notes of five hundred naira each. Without words, I understood it to be a bribe, a token to silence my tongue.
Before he departed, he called me aside and spoke thus: “Thy sister hath told me of thy lack of work. Fear not, for I shall bestow upon thee the sum of one million naira to establish thyself.”
That night was the gladdest of my life. The promise of wealth danced before my eyes, and I dreamt of a future filled with prosperity. At dawn, I took my humble savings of thirty-five thousand naira to the market, for what use was a savings chest when untold riches awaited me? I purchased two pairs of fine jeans, a shirt, and a pair of sandals fit for a prince.
As I returned home, I walked with the gait of one who carried the favor of kings. Along the way, beggars lined my path, their hands outstretched in supplication. Out of my newfound confidence, I cast my remaining cash into their baskets, for was I not soon to be a man of wealth? When I saw my friend Musa, to whom I owed three hundred and fifty naira for a bag of water purchased a week prior, I gave him five hundred naira and bade him keep the change. His grateful smile was a welcome sight.
With but one thousand naira remaining for my journey, I set forth to meet Abuchi, the man who had promised to set me on the path to prosperity. Yet, as I entered my home, I found my sister weeping bitterly. At first, I thought she had lost her phone, as was her habit, but upon inquiry, her words struck me like the blow of a hammer.
“Abuchi hath been arrested,” she cried, “for his part in an armed robbery.”
In that moment, the riches I had dreamt of crumbled into dust. My savings were gone, the promise of one million naira naught but an empty illusion. It pained me deeply, yet such is life. We stumble, we fall, but we must rise and carry on, for fortune is fickle and not always kind.
Please and please, don't waste this your literary talent. Please.

Everyone in Nigeria is looking for ways to cheat the other... Why are we like this?
A cook is stealing ingredients from the kitchen
A driver is buying half tank and reporting full tank
People working in the poultry are stealing eggs
ants are changing figures
People working in supermarkets are stealing
Teachers and lecturers are stealing from students
Girlfriends are stealing from boyfriends
Wives are stealing from their husbandd
Even church is not exempted... Once you get a position in a church, it's always an opportunity to steal...
Where exactly will Tinubu start to fight corruption?😂 😂
As in ehn!
And these are the people that expect an honest and corruption free government.

You are right but require my friend to go to court and get a warrant for that to happen but you know Nigeria situation, it's just 36k. If he goes to court to get the warrant, he would spend so much money to get it done. The money was meant to pay for grocery and the seller hurriedly called his number but a wrong number but the name coincidentally similar. See the attachment below... Christian Nwachukwu something and the other name Christian something Chukwu too, the only difference was the English name, so much similarities in the two s, I even suspected it's a scam by the grocery seller ....also the number very similar, just a number or two makes it different.....the grocery seller said it has happened before to him, when he gave number out and the buyer mistakenly input a wrong number and such happened. My friend wanted to deal with the grocery seller but he claimed he called the correct number for my friend...that's how the money went o....
Can you imagine. I won't be surprised if the grocery seller is involved, but one day soon their cup will be full, all the perpetrators.

I like your question. How did the sender get your number. 😂 That's what first came to my mind but the time I read your contribution, I said no need to ask again......
Anyway, no harm as long as it's from the same person's name you are sending it back to......Please send it.....
A friend mistakenly sent money to a wrong ....a palmpay from Moniepoint since almost 5months ago.
He rushed to his bank with a letter of retriever and the bank promised to work on it. They did with the collaboration of Palmpay but discovered that there's no single fund in the person's again. He withdrew that money very fast and abandoned the .
However, there's something I learnt from him while he was explaining to me when it happened and after going to report at the bank. The refund of that money is still at the discretion of the receiver even though it's wrongly sent to the receiver's . The only action the receiving bank can take is to put PND on the to avoid withdrawal if the money is still inside or there is enough balance to pay the sender. The receiver's bank must still seek and appeal to you to return the money back to the sender.....
This is outrageous. The money my friend sent mistakenly was 36k to a wrong palm pay from Moniepoint.
See the screenshot of the whole drama below.....
They could flag his BVN as well which would affect all banks linked to him.

Make una dey sha lie for internet .
Why not just speak for yourself rather than assuming for others that they truly won't return it.
I have had airtime credited to my phone wrongly before, the person called me and I returned it. It's basic honesty and the right thing to do.

I feel the pain of that boy. Imagine, maybe the parents struggled to put small food for the boy flask while going to school, the boy still got to the school with another struggle. If nothing was done on that case, the woman has damaged the boy mentality. When I was in primary six, I could not even read more write anything but today I have PhD in my bag. It serves the teacher well. If you look at the velocity of that slap, the boy can fall and die there.
Honestly. That boy is very courageous. It wasn't small velocity, whaiii. Very vicious slap. Haba.
Your story is a testimony that one should not despise small beginnings, a slow learner today can be the one in front tomorrow.

Look at her face. Those slaps were just too hard, I flinched each time she slapped the boy. Haba. It is sheer wickedness and it seems to be engrained in this woman for her to think it's normal to hit a child so hard in the name of teaching.
And the boy was so brave, he kept on trying to write, some other kid would have burst into tears after that first slap. This woman should not at all be a teacher.

Your analysis was too narrow and simplistic. You have totally forgotten to blame:
1. The parents for being too greedy and selfish by packing their wards to take as much as they could . They simply wanted everything for themselves.
2. The society for teaching children to fight always instead of peacefully waiting in line. The home training fight before it gets to your turn , otherwise it will finish before it gets to your turn. Children witness adults at the bus stop fighting to death to enter a bus. Horrible survival of the fittest culture.
3. Organisers for showing total disregard for organisation, security and planning. No plan in case of emergency.
4. The government for impoverishing its citizens. If inflation wasn't at ridiculously high levels making food & essentials unaffordable to the poor in society, some of these parents would not have needed to come out for freebies, they would have stayed at home.

OBJ killed Bola Ige and many others because he saw them as threat to his second term in 2003.

So much blood has been shed in Nigeria. However, information online is that the brutal murder of Barnabas Igwe and his wife was linked to the then Anambra governor, Mbadinuju. They murdered the man and his pregnant wife in a very brutal manner. The evil in the heart of man can never be understood.
One thing I know is that the wicked will not go unpunished either here or the hereafter.
