If that order is not looking at the marginalisation of workers in the oil industry especially drilling and producing, it makes no sense.
Workers in Chinese and Indian owned rigs are going through hell, but because of the idiots in power, nothing is being done.

Federal government needs to investigate Geoplex, Bogel and Sinopec owned rigs and contractors especially the catering and security. This guys earn less than 120k

How can we have roustabouts and floormen earning less than 300k.

While this execute order has its place there are still fundamental issues that need to be addressed.

For me the most important is in the upstream. What is the actual amount of oil and gas lifted from Nigeria per day?

The amount lifted, the companies involved and how much they earn. All these should be public knowledge. Just the other day, shell claimed it’s paid over $5 billion in tax alone, so how much does the government actually earn?

Oil is not enough but every Nigerian politician has earned stupendously through oil either directly or indirectly.

Those who pose for the camera are usually insecure people or people in the entertainment industry.

For those who do not know, the average cost of producing a barrel of crude in Nigeria is higher than in most other countries of the world. That tends to reduce our profit on each barrel of crude we produce and sell.

It is only when you know there is a problem that you can attempt to try to solve it, this EO is a first step towards solving that identified problem. It is these kinds of big decisions that make those countries we envy worthwhile, not by populist decision that eat up the future.

I can assure you that once you are there working for politicians, you just tell them what they want to hear. Let me give you few examples ...you can have an AFE of $30M approved for a 12k ft shallow offshore well but while drilling, you get stuck 5 times and spend weeks, even months fishing and sidetracking a fish, that well may end up costing $60M and there's nothing anyone can do about it. What about security, that's a major archiles heel, you don't want to know how much companies pay formally and informally to keep their staff and infrastructure safe and secure. What about the various regulatory authorities that must be taken care of, otherwise they will frustrate you and not give you required approvals; NUPRC, NOSDRA, NIMASA, NCAA, NNPC etc. I can go on and on. That order is a mere rhetoric, it won't move a needle. We can come back 2 years from now to assess how far that order has been effective.
